So
I'm planning my first trip to WDW next May - I'm from the UK
So its a big and expensive trip - just the flights are £6000.
I've realised we arrive on the Saturday evening of Memorial Weekend
So this is bad because it will be very busy, but good because it seems theres
extra things on like star wars weekends.

I see the WDW facebook page that they seem to be open 24 hours?

is this the case? in which case this is pretty good as we'll all probably be awake at 5am on the friday day (the sunday)

is this just magic kingdom (sorry I'm still getting confused by all the acronyms) and parades or are attractions open all hours.

Also is it sad to be SO excited (I'm 45!!).
have kids that will be 11,10 and 8 when we get there.

Memorial Day weekend will be crowded, regardless. But it could be less crowded in the week following, until school gets out that first week of June. Could be ;)

That is a one night event that Disney has done ever since the last Leap Year, but now they tend to do them in May. You could luck out and it might be the same time next year. But it's only one 24 hour day. The rest of the time they close normal hours.

Yes it's only MK.

Heck no it's not sad!!!!! LOL I LOVE Disney and still get excited every time. I'm 39 (and staying that forever btw ;) )

Have fun on your trip to the States! These boards have a lot of good information on them for planning.

thanks - yep it will most likely be the 24 hours the night we arrive! :) if it hits our trip.

luckily we have (saturday evening) sunday - thursday full days in the park
so the tuesday onwards should calm down (and we have full 14 day passes so can come back after we move to a house.

Then we have universal to do - was on a taster at the Harry Potter Studio Tours last week - which is amazing - but a completely different sort of thing..

only 52 weeks to go.

We just got back (came home on Fri when the 24-hours started). While only MK was 24 hours, the other parks ended up having extended hours, too, that weren't listed on the app.

I think HS was open until 11 PM and maybe 1 AM for Magic Hours. EP was at least 11 PM.
AK might have been open late, too.

I didn't take too much notice as our flight was that afternoon.

yep will be arrivign the saturday evenign so if its the same weekend will prob miss the 24 hour thing.

The extra hours will be more use to us in the morning - as the kids will certainly start to fade around 9pm (jet lag)
that said - im up for a few of the more extreme rides after they go to bed :)
