We've booked our trip, with dining plan, from Dec. 5th to 15th and I called yesterday to make our ADR's. My son really wanted to eat at Le Cellier because he loved the steak he had there on a previous trip, but we couldn't get an ADR on the days we have planned for Epcot. Any other suggestions for good steak with just one TS credit?

I'd recommend Concourse Steakhouse in the Contemporary. I've seen more good reviews than bad.

Kona Cafe at Polynesian has very good steaks. I don't think you'll have any problems getting an ADR there.

Spoodles at Boardwalk also has decent steaks.

Concourse Steakhouse

We had the steak at the Rose and Crown. It was the best steak as it was cooked exactly as we asked and was very tender. The only other steak I had was at the Coral Reef and that was under done (twice) and quite rubbery. Even my carnivorous son didn't like that one.

hmmmm... we had a delicious meal at boatwrights (voted best of 11 day '05 trip!) and i did not have steak, but prime rib... and it was outstanding... they do have a steak on their menu and if it is anything like the rest of our meal there, it will be OUTSTANDING!

Rose and Crown also offers steak, although we've never dined there, you may want to check thru the review thread to see if you can find an opinion of it...

teppanyaki offers steak... and they consistently get good reviews :)

also, i believe that Concourse Steakhouse is a one credit meal and they supposedly have great steaks... of course, we've never tried it for fear that my children would rebel at being sooooo close to Chef Mickey's but not being allowed to go in! (it's their fave! LOL!)

:thumbsup2 Hands down for me Yachtsman steakhouse!!!!!!!

The most tender well done ny strip steak i have ever had :cool1:

Oh yeah even though i have heards good reviews about le cellier when i went for the first time a couple weeks ago it was just ok to me. My dh also stated that when we go back he did not want to eat there again but this is just our opinion. The atmosphere was very nice though.

Thank you everyone! These are great suggestions so I will see what we can work out. I hadn't even considered Boatwright's - we are staying at POFQ so that might work well. I had thought about Yachtsman, too, but it is 2 TS credits so it may not work for us.

we were staying at POFQ when we went to boatwrights and made an evening of it... took the boat over... had our delicious dinner... changed into our swimsuits... had nearly the whole pool to ourselves and it's a GREAT pool... swam for awhile... dried off, caught a little bit of the entertainment in the RiverRoost Lounge... and contemplated a horse/carriage ride, but the kids were tuckered so we hopped on the boat (oh, bring quarters for duck food machines while waiting for the boat! and there's no rest room at the boat dock! we only know that 'cause we needed it! LOL!) and headed back to our resort :) great evening :)

Concourse Steakhouse. We've eaten there several times & have never had a problem. Several different steak options & the mashed potatos are tremendous!

We eat at Spoodles every trip and at least one of us gets the steak. It's always very good as is everything else on the menu. The service is excellent and it's such a nice place to eat. We enjoy spending time on the Boardwalk afterwards.

We did the DDP last week and had steaks in every restaurant that served them.

Concourse: very good

Alfredo's: very good

Le Cellier: very good

Spoodles: very good

Chef's of France: disgustingly horrible, as was all of the dinner selections we had there.

Big River Grille and Brew : Excellent, best steak we've had at WDW , as was the rest of our dinner selections.

Whispering Canyon: very good

Concourse Steakhouse is excellent! They have a good bread basket too!! That always seals the deal for me.

Yachtsman is amazing. It's really worht it to try a meal there and just pay for something else out of pocket. It is by far one of the top fine-dining experiences in WDW.

I'm also a fan of the NY Strip at WCC, and of course Ohana (wich has all-you-can-eat sirlion. The sirloin may not be amazing, but it's great with the peanut sauce and all of the food there is great in general).

This might sound odd but the best steak we had was at Mama Melrose. My DS ordered it and we each had a bite and it was excellent. I just checked the menu and the steak he had may not be on the menu anymore though. Only steak on there is a charred butcher tender steak. This might be the one though, not sure.

My steak lover pronounced the steak at Le Cellier...well, I can't say, but it rhymed with "bit." He said the one at the Yacht Club was, "OK," which means the rest of the country would love it. :)

I agree. I'm a steak lover from way back and have eaten at most of the spots mentioned on this thread, but the Concourse Grill has the best steaks in my humble opinion.

Enjoy.

DH and I both had the steak there a week and a half ago and it was DELICIOUS!!!!! Yes, we had to send it back once since we ordered it well done and it came out very pink in the middle, but when it came back it was still juicy and so flavorful. DS7 couldn't get enough of our steaks! If I were on the dining plan, I'd definitely try to get an ADR. The scenery is gorgeous and you really get the extra bang for your buck by being allowed to order fried scallops on your caesar salad as an appetizer ($11 just for that).

My 9 yo dd steak lover liked the prime rib at Boma's the best (all you can eat, boy did we get our money's worth!). Then the Strip Steak from le cellier, then the prime rib from Cp, then (believe it or not) the one from SciFi! I guess you could have named our trip "beef around the World", lol. We didn't make it to Concourse, although we had ADRs that we cancelled (whoever got the party of two reservations at 5:30 last saturday, you're welcome!). Maybe next trip!
