I called AAA today and got a price of 1970.56.

That includes 6 nights/7 days at POFQ, Standard Room, Roundtrip airfare, insurance, and rental car.

What do you think veterans? Is this a good price or should I keep looking?

Oops, sorry! 2 adults, 1 infant. October 3-9. POFQ, standard room, from Detroit

This includes only room charges on Disney? No MYW park tix? If so, then how many days/ and w/ what options?

Usually AAA gives me a decent discount... but I always book my own airfaire.

Good luck!!!

is the infant in her own seat on the plane? It's really hard to judge with the airfare and the rental car. Disney's prices are pretty standard when you know which season, which hotel. Then AAA has a straight percent off depending on season/hotel (mod resort, 15% peak ,regular, and summer, 20% value) . AAA discount for Disney is on the room part but everything else I wouldn't have a clue about. Did they break down how much each part was costing you?

So more info to help others help you - How many plane tickets?
Are you getting park tickets? What kind? Dining?
When are you traveling?

Lets assume you are holding the baby on the plane, and this is room only - no tickets. 6 nights at a mod in value season with aaa discount will be - 783ish. That means you are paying about 1187.56 for the rest. Taking off insurance you are at about 1000 for the plane tickets and rental car. Yes I think that is a lot. but if you are going in Peak season it still leaves you paying well over 600 for 2 plane tickets and a rental car. Which seeing some of the rates people say they have been getting still seems a bit high.

Just did some checking and air tran offers non stop flights detroit to mco for just under 200 round trip. And hertz rental car was like 170 or something. Both of these were with no special discounts but the air fare was their 'special' coach fare.

We are holding DD on our laps for the flights, the rental car was a mid-size (we are going to change that to economy), and we had a four day park pass, regular not a hopper.

I think we are going to just go with the room and tickets. Then we will get the airfare on our own, just watch the flights. I went and got my hair cut, so I missed her last call.

Thanks everyone! It helps to have some veterans to turn to!

Okay, DH did write down the breakdown info!

Total: 1943.26

Economy car: 213.00
Airfare: 394.60
Insurance: 119.90
POFQ Standard View 6 nights plus 4 day base ticket: 1215.76

Are you going anywhere off property? If not, I would say ditch the rental car and use Magical Express. You could put that money towards food or goodies!

:thumbsup2

We aren't really planning on it besides the grocery stop. Our main reason for the car is getting to and from the parks. We will be going back to the hotel each day for naps since our DD will be 15 months at that point.

I read about how long the bus ride can be, and DD is not the most patient baby when she is tired. She also does NOT sleep well around crowds. She is too interested in what is going on around her to sleep. So sleeping in the stroller isn't going to happen.

when we went back for naps, we usually took the bus not wanting to give up that good morning parking place. The only problem was with two kids who were often asleep on top of us by the time we got back to the hotel then 2 strollers...that was a bit of a nightmare. But with one....and 2 grownups..unless you get stuck standing with her in your arms you should be fine.

Knowing you got tickets makes it make so much more sense. $400ish for that.
