We will be flying from MKE to MCO on Midwest Express (children 8, 6 did the layover thing once, never again) Dec 7-14 (Sat-Sat firm). Price hasn't changed since I've been looking (280.50/person). Does anyone have historical experience with this flight to know if better prices ever come out? Get your crystal balls out, I'm just looking for opinions.

From what I understand, Midwest Express is kind of an all first class type airline, so everyone onthe plane gets first class perks. That being said, i ahve never flown with them - though I would love to, I think $280 per person is reasonable - reasonable when you consider the outrageously high pricer we pay for flying on stop from the Midwest. If it hasn't changed in a significant amount of time, it probably won't go down any farther. If you are having anxiety about it, buy the tix now. From watching fares from MSP, if there's going to be a drop, it usually is in the 7-8 month timeframe. Just from my experience and I nkow MKE and MSP have their own thing.

Good luck.

I think that 280 is an pretty good price - we paid 271 last Dec. and after 9/11 the price went down and we ended up with 70 vouchers. We are using them in Oct. and the tickets were 193 minus the 70 = 123 roundtrip. So, if they go down they will issue the vouchers. That is a pretty slow time typically but if you have to go Sat - Sat. then there might be an issue and weekends can sometimes cost more.

Good luck
Leslie

We always fly Midwest from MKE-MCO and that price seems about right. We paid $297.00 for our June tickets, and $263.00 when we went in November. (Our November tickets were originally higher so we got vouchers for the difference.) We love flying Midwest Express, the food is great, and so is the service.

I am always checking the fairs for MWE and that seems right where they usually are. I do remember last year a "sale" in sept/oct but if you aren't flexible with your dates I would not wait. If the fairs go down and you call them they will "give" you the difference in a voucher to be used later.
I don't know if you are aware that AirTRan now flys out of MKE direct to MCO. If you don't mind the 6am flight timesit 205/person...they might be more likely to have a fare sale then MWE. Sun Country is also having "limited flights" if you like living on the wild side.

I just noticed that you are from Sauk City... MWE out of MSN to MCO is 303/pp. It might be better then drivng to MKE. The parking at MKE sucks! I think I paid 8/day for the "close" lot...just a thought...

By the way no where there are any Morels in your neck ofthe woods:D !! We lived in Mt HOreb and NEVER found one besides at Pecks market, lol!

Oh yes there are! My DH went hunting on Mother's Day and ended up with 2 frying pans full. Unfortunately, only he and the grandparent's ate them (the kids and I don't care for them).

Now, to get back on topic, Re: MWE, I'll have to look at the MSN idea closer. Thanks to all for your prices/experience. I really like the flight times MWE offers vs. AirTran (as well as the seats, food, service, etc.)

It seems like a good price to me. We love Midwest Express and will be flying from Kansas City to Appleton in July...that ticket is $315.50 plus a change of planes in Milwaukee. :)
