Good Idea?

For our next family Disney trip, we plan to stay at the Polynesian Concierge Level and have a light breakfast and afternoon snacks there. We will also get the DDP and have CS for lunch and TS for dinner. Does this sound like a good idea?

Depends whether you are big eaters. The breakfast there includes cereals, toast, muffins, pastries etc. I find that I can fill up in the morning and then Im not hungry until dinner time well at least not hungry enough for a full CS meal maybe just a snack. Remember with DDP you also get a snack a day but this can be used as a bottle of drink so isn't an issue (or when I did it I used this as fries most of the time). If however you are having dinner late or you do like to have 3 structured meals (I don't really) then it is a good idea to use this.

If you and your family do not like to eat a heavy breakfast like eggs or pancakes and prefer cereal, muffins and pastries, then it is probably a good idea. Some people just cannot eat a large breakfast or are hungry in the morning. If your kids like to drink soda and snack a lot then again it is probably a good idea because you will not be feeding the vending machines money all the time.

If the cost of the room per night covers your breakfast and snack costs then it is probably a good idea. If your kids are finicky in the morning then why spend the $10 or more for breakfast when they can grab a muffin to go. The Poly concierge was great, but we like a large breakfast and do not snack often so the cost was not conducive for our plans. Just my thoughts. :)

hmmm, this one is tough... The DDP is a LOT of food. I usually have to really limit myself when I am on it so that I am actually hungry for my next meal.

With that being said... I am always hungry in the AM. I also find that I have more energy etc. when I eat a little something before going to the parks. If I were magically upgraded to concierge I think I would stop for a light breakfast. I doubt I would use afternoon snacks. I spend about 75 dollars on powerade, bottled h20 (the tap water there is NASTY!) and diet coke (we all have to feed our addictions, right?), so the drinks would be REALLY nice. The DDP is A LOT of food, even without the app. If the money is there though, why not? Splurge, it is vacation!

Remember there are other "perks" to being concierge level, such as help with vacation planning, getting ADR's, limited access to the floor you are staying on. The lounge areas are often quiet and a nice place to relax.

That is a good idea. All I ever have at home for breakfast are a few pieces of toast with jam, and that fills me up and I'm not hungry until lunch. I think I'll save the snack credit to get a late-night Dole Whip!
