Good DL guidebooks?

Although I'm pretty well-versed when it comes to WDW, I'm woefully inadequate at DL. So, since we're considering a trip out to the park that started it all next year, I wanted to get some good guidebooks to plan from the ground up. Went to my local Barnes & Noble and they had one, yes ONE, guidebook for DL. So, I'm now the proud owner of The Unofficial Guide - Disneyland 2012. Any other recommendations of books, sites, links on the DIS, would be greatly appreciated!

Any advice from Hydro Guy here on the DIS is better than what you'll find at B&N. Especially his DLR tips for WDW vets.

A lot of people here think that all you need are the boards, and they're really helpful. But I've found the Unofficial Guide to be helpful and less scatter-shot. You can find much, but not all, of the same information on the boards, but it's not as organized and you have to spend much more time searching for it.

I like the Unofficial guide.I have bought it before and will again after the DCA changes are included, for our trip next spring.I love all the tips and strategies here on the DIS....but I love a book that I can take with me anywhere.

To plan our first trip in 2010 I used these boards and the Unofficial Guide. I don't think I needed anything else!

Ok, thanks for your advice everyone! It looks like I have the 2 best resources - the Unofficial Guide, and Hydro Guy. Let the planning begin! :goodvibes

So far the forums have been helpful. But, I too have the Unofficial guide...as well as Birnbaum's Disneyland (this one you may have to order on Amazon; seems they are becoming scarce in the book stores). In fact, my first foray into guide books was Birnbaums Disneyland back in 1994...my very Disney obsessed cousin bought it for me after finding out my high school band trip was to DL. :) Birnbaum's is easier to read than the Unofficial guide as well. :P

Hope this helps!
