Hello,

The family and I will be arriving to MCO at around 4:30 on our arrival afternoon and will be staying at POP. I was wondering what good CS or cheaper TS places would be a nice place to visit on our arrival night. We will have plenty of time throughout our stay to visit the POP food court and I don't want to use a park day for this so it would have to be at a different resort or Downtown Disney. Thanks in advance for the recommendations.

Why don't you ck out Beaches & Cream. It might be what your looking for.
Have a great trip!

Yeah, I'd suggest somewhere at a monorail resort so you can ride, maybe watch Wishes from afar, check out the Water Parade. Great way to begin a magical trip!
Chef Mickey's also gets some character interaction out of the way. Or allows you to have some character interaction (depending on your POV!)

I am going to consider Beaches & Cream. We already have ADR's for Chef Mickey's later in the week.

There are some great choices for DTD. I would hit something there!! There are some places there that don't take ADR's........just walk ups!

I vote of the Boardwalk or Downtown Disney.

Most reasonably priced at Boardwalk would be Big River Grille. Plenty to walk around and see before/after the meal.

I havent been to DTD in a few years. Ive heard it changed a lot...Im sure others can recommend a place to dine.

I always go to a dinner show our first night (Spirit of Aloha). After a long day of travel, we are tired. I also like the idea that there is entertainment, so the kids and hubby are watching, so I dont even have to keep a conversation going!!! After the show we go right to sleep for an early morning fresh start to our vacation!

I wouldnt spend a ton of $$ first night on anything too upscale. You will be tired to really enjoy anything fully.

Wolfgang Puck Express is good, but I was going to suggest Earl of Sandwich if they were going ot Downtown Disney. Then they could get dessert at the Goofy's Candy Company. Or Ghirardelli. ;)

How about Wolfgang Express, DTD heard it's really good!!!

It is really good! I was gonna suggest it its CS but the food is more like TS! Im trying to talk DF into going night before we check into our disney resort! We will only be a mile away..

TS I would suggest Rainforet Cafe its a fun place for kids and adults altho its not on the DDP..

Ohana is always my 1st TS meal of my trip but this yr (its my honeymoon too) I can only manage to get it the second night.. Oh well Im happy Iget to share the experience with my man! :lovestruc

I vote for the Boardwalk. You could eat at any of the restaurants along there (although I think I would order a pizza from the window at Spoodles and eat outside at a table near the water :) ). You could also rent a surrey, or rent boats at the Dolphin, or go for a free boat ride in the lagoon on the boat that goes between Epcot, Yacht Club, Boardwalk, Swan/Dolphin, and MGM.

If you plan on going to Downtown Disney for a table service restaurant try the Rainforest Cafe and for counter service location try Earl of Sandwich. You can't go wrong with either one.
