What are some good cheaper souviners availible in the parks. For souviners and such, i have around $70.00 for a two day trip to disney and and at other parks and attractions. What would be some good souviners to buy.

Thanks!

We always buy fridge magents that are clips, with the year on it...multi purpose - holds fridge art, holds bills, and has the year we visited!:wizard:

If you don't mind eating your souvenir, I recommend the Mickey shaped rice krispie bars. They are SO delicious and were a nice treat to bring back the magic after we had been back home for a few days. I was amazed at how fresh they were even after several days.

I like kitchen stuff. At DTD a week ago, got:
Spoon rest - $8.95
Set of six Mickey coaster - $6.95
Set of measuring spoons - $7.95
Mickey trivet - $10.95

Also:
Mickey car emblem - $5.95
Mickey bracelet - $6.95

Also: We went to Walgreens (At US 192 and International Drive - right outside the park) to get some allergy medicine. They had TONS of stuff. It was cute and cheaper than buying on park. Nice shirts, pajama pants, lanyards, pins, mugs, and more. :goodvibes

I'm getting some of those popcorn buckets! :goodvibes

Pearls from pick-a-pearl, mickey rice krispie bars. I'm also hoping to find a Disney cookbook featuring some of their food and treats.

If I had about $70, I'd choose:

** Mickey-shaped pen (around $6, IIRC)

** a pin with the year of our visit ($8-$10 each)

** a cute t-shirt that I really liked ($25 - $30)

** a mug I could use every day to remind me of the trip ($12 - $15)

** a small photo album with the year on it ($20)

Have a great trip!! :wizard:

thanks...it looks like i will have about $115.00 for the trip. I also have a $50.00 cracker barrel gift card...and even though it doesn't have disney stuff, it has nice stuff in there stores.

Shot glasses from the countries around WS and from the attractions, and no, one doesn't have to be a drinker to appreciate them.

We buy a Christmas Ornament with the year on it. I love decorating our tree with wonderful memories.

I like the year ornaments too. That is one of my "must haves". I also like one nice picture frame with the year for one favorite photo to display.
We've travelled so much, to so many countries that I have gotten a bit tired of souvineers and am a "less is more" person now. One or two things I really like...Saves money too.

Just a thought on souvineers, I try not to buy cutsie or singular use items (like ornaments) when I'm on a budget.

When I went I bought:

Disney fleece Jacket $20 at DisOutlet

Plastic double walled cup with lid and straw $18 at ASMu gift shop

Grey Tshirt ASMu gift shop $28 (this was a plus size shirt and a current one not on sale) Most expensive thing I bought.

$20 for the rolling duffle that you got with a purchase over a certain amount. It may have been $15. Can't remember (combined some purchases to qualify)

Popcorn bucket $2 or 3 bucks.

Less than $100 bucks total on my own souvineers.

I keep my change in the bucket, I wear that jacket just about everyday during cool weather, I drink from my cup everday (it's my at home water glass) the duffle is the perfect size for a weekender or a carry on I've used it half a dozen times in the 16 months. The tshirt was a big old bust. I wear it every once in a while. Won't be buying more tshirts. LOL

Go practical and buy stuff you'll use often. That way just a little money spent will get you the maximum return on memories.

Try collecting some of the pressed pennies from the machines located throughout the parks. My daughter has a great time making a 'treasure hunt' list to track down her favorite characters. Each one only costs 51 cents. You can also get pressed quarters for $1.25 each.

You can find the current list at www.presscoins.com

One option if you have off-site transportation available is to go to one of the Disney Outlet stores. DW and DD got some Disney merchandise for much less than you could buy it at the park. That allows you to at least get more bang for the buck. The one we went to was at called Disney's Character Warehouse located at Prime Outlets Orlando - it's near the Universal parks. DW could probably tell you more if you're interested - PM PrincessTeresa if you want to know more.

Ditto, for both!!

Also try Publix. I don't have the exact address, but we stayed offsite a few years ago at a timeshare near SeaWorld and hit up the closest Publix for groceries. Well, they had a whole section of Disney related stuff, from postcards to t-shirts and toys. If you have a car, just hit up a few strip malls nearest Disney...they have them all over the place and the souvenir shops are plentiful. Disney and Florida souvies can be had for very little $$. I got a Minnie Mouse sleepwear set (shorts and tank) for $10.

For souvies onsite, I like to get a Disney themed Christmas ornament with the year on it from the Christmas shop at DTD. I'm really not a t-shirt gal, so I tend to get things that I can either display or use in my home. I like picture frames, too and last trip got a large black framed one with the Mickey photo mat openings inside. Very classy. It was like $25, but it still hangs in my hall way and I jsut update the pics every time we return from our latest Disney trip. It's the souvie that keeps on giving!

You didn't mention if the souveniers are for yourself or others.

If I'm buying for others--and frequently myself--I try to purchase items that are specifically have the WDW logo on them--or something of the sort--and are reasonably useful.

Rulers. Can't remember how much they are, but they are great gifts for children, teachers, office colleagues--anyone who can use a ruler and would enjoy having a touch of Disney around them. Bought one for myself, too! :)

Walt Disney World tote bag. It was one of the least expensive bags and the one I liked best! *LOL* It's navy blue with the WDW logo on it. It's great as a carry-on bag, casual briefcase, or just for general use. I wanted one with a secure top closure--a zipper, in this case. I think it was around $30.

Trading pins. Around $6 and up. I purchased a few that were WDW specific that non-Disney people would recognize. I have a few obtained through special promotions (MVMCP, MNSSHP, "gift" as part of a WDW package, and a few purchased for specific resorts.

Waterproof card/cash holder. Available at all of the resorts. Don't recall seeing them in the parks, although they could be there. Great for anyone who goes to the beach, lake, public pool, water parks, etc.

I don't purchase a lot of souveniers for myself (tote bag and ruler excepted *LOL*), but when I do it's usually a barette, jewelry, artwork--something I can enjoy and use on a regular basis.

When we lived in Europe and travelled all over, DH started to collect shot glasses. He has quite a nice set and it's a great suggestion! He didn't get any from WS (largely because we've been to many of the countries and already have them from our trips) but he did get the "official" WDW '09 glass last year.
Maybe this time I'll keep an eye out at the WS in some of the countries we haven't actually been to...like Morrocco. (I think there are only two or three total)
