Good allergy report-Teppan Edo

We had a great experience at Teppan Edo. If you have allergies, the manager will come out before you order and talk to you. It turns out they do not use peanuts or peanut oil in anything. If you have a severe allergy to dairy (butter), or fish or shellfish (or anything else for that matter), they will cook your food separately in the back. I did notice that they use a lot of sesame seeds, so someone who was very allergic to sesame may have trouble, but overall everything was great.

I'm glad to hear that, I was under the impression that they used peanut oil.

Thanks for the report! I've heard great things about them and they're the one non-Disney owned place that I've been tempted to try, but DD9 is allergic to sesame (not anaphylactic, but she gets these major whole body shivers for at least an hour after eating even a bit) so that's been what's been holding me back from trying it. I know they have gluten free soy sauce and can keep away all the other allergens but I wasn't sure about the sesame. It's the sesame that had the chef at Tokyo Dining telling me that he was worried about DD9's safety if we dine there. Sigh.

Thanks for sharing. Nice reports are always reassuring! We have a sesame allergy, so it sounds like it might not be the place for us, but it's good to hear they are so on top of things.

They do not use tree nuts. I have a son who is allergic and we have never had a problem. He is also allergic to sesame seeds so they cooked his food first. Michelle
