Golf Cart with Lift Kit

I know the golf cart rules at FW indicate that they can't be off road type vehicles. My electric golf cart has a lift kit and pretty good size balloon tires. But it is on a regular golf cart platform and is not 4 wheel drive or anything. Will they consider that "off road" by any chance? :confused3 I am hoping it will be allowed. Thanks in advance to any responses.

I am sure they will be fine with that, I know I have seen many lifted carts around the Fort, as long as it is a golf cart that should be fine, unless it is so high it could be a hazard, post a photo if you can and lets check it out. I love custom carts! :thumbsup2

1) We have allowed many lift-assist golf carts.
2) But, you need to show a photo.
3) I have seen many rejected as an "ATV", when disallowed as a golf cart.
. . . high ground clearance
. . . over-powered engines
. . . overall too high
. . . excessively large wheels
4) Just because it is on golf cart frame, doesn't make it a golf cart.
5) Many ATVs are built on golf cart frames.
6) It is a judgment call, and WDW has the final judgment.

EDIT: When people have "crossover" golf carts, decisions can go either way.

Ok thanks. I wish I could post a photo but I don't use any photo hosting sites like photo bucket or flicker or whatever they are. I guess it is one of those carts that could go either way. It is electric so there is no super charged motor. But it does set higher in the air than carts you would typically see on a golf course and the tires are kind of big knobbies. Thanks for your input.

What I have seen allowed are generally mild or mid lift kits (6" lift max) and balloon style tires on a 10" rim. Anything more then that is pretty accessive for a "golf cart" anyway.

1) Just from your description, it sounds like you are borderline.
2) On which side of the border, I cannot tell.
. . . electric motors are not supercharged, but some are way more powerful than others
. . . sitting high, is classic ATV versus golf cart
. . . big "knobbies" are also typical ATV versus golf cart
3) Without viewing the vehicle, I am at a loss for an educated conclusion.
4) I do wish you success.

NOTE: One good question might be, "Who is the manufacturer?" If it is
Club Car, EZ-Go, or other golf cart company, it *probably* will be OK, or
at least argumentative. If it is built by an ATV company, the decision is a
real toss-up.

RustyScupper, it is an EZ-Go that came off of a golf course. I had a dealer put on the lift kit. I looked at pictures on-line of golf carts in Fort Wilderness parades and I saw several with as big or bigger tires and very similar lift kits. I also looked at a website for a company that rents golf carts in Orlando and the photos they showed of "Golf Cart Rentals for Fort Wilderness" were at least as lifted as mine. I think I would be approved. When one of my more tech smart kids come over, I may get one of the them to post an actual photo of my cart and ask for the benefit of your expertise. Thanks again for your input!!

When we were there in April there was a cart made to look like a 'truck' and had a loud gasoline engine. It was larger than most carts also. We could not believe that Disney would allow that type at the Fort, but-----

It definitely was 'not' inconspicuous - just wish Disney was more consistent with 'all' their rules (allowances) not just with the carts.
