I tried searching the "FAQ" thread but couldnt really find an answer. Can anyone suggest a nice golf course near Vero? When I search on Google, it seems that every one that comes up is private. We have added an extra day to our trip, so I figured that was a perfect excuse to play some golf:thumbsup2

Well, they have a moderately challenging 9-hole over maybe 45 yards with par 36 course on site (next to the pool) :rotfl:

Sorry, I don't golf. I have seen this question ask before and I know there have been some positive responses, but I don't know any names or anything. Good luck.

Actually, here is the link to my source of info

That's a keeper link... going into my library. :)

IIRC, VB has an arrangement with a local private course. It's probably worth a phone call. Let me know what you find out, I might have to start working on DW to give me some golf time in VB.

Thanks for the info everyone. I just called, and naturally I missed the concierge desk by 5 minutes, so they will call me back tomorrow. I'll post what I find out as soon as I speak to them:thumbsup2

I go to Vero several times a year...family lives in Vero...

Our family has played at:

Point West...nice course...about 20-30 mins from disney on Rt60.

Sandridge ( city/county course) two course Lakes and dunes. both are very nice about 15 mins from disney

Forget the name of the course, but its up on A1A- north...about 20 mins from Vero...semi private...nice course...
Aquarina country club...(might be the name)

The above courses are all great...

Have fun.

Thanks for the tips Lyndz. The conciege just called back, suprised as the recording said they closed at 5. Anyway she also suggested Point West and Sandridge. She also said the resort had an agreement with Indian River Club which I believe is private. Anyone played there? Based on the websites, they all look nice and I'm sure they will fit the bill...

Probably Candy or Gail...both are very helpful.

IRC is private and topnotch...but, expensive approx $150 a person...if you can afford to play...let me know how it is...

Point West and Sandridge are nice also...and alot more reasonable...

Have fun

The private club is Indian River Club - it's a gorgeous, well-maintained course with a beautiful clubhouse and second story dining room with veranda for having lunch & a cocktail after your round. I have played it every time at Vero (3, 4 times?) and would go back in a heartbeat. We have played a couple others whose names escape me, so that goes to show the compariosn between those and Indian River Club. They have a website (even though it's a private club), so do a search for it and check w/ DVC VB to see if it's still offered.

Good luck & enjoy!

according to the concierge it is still available. Any idea what green fees were when you played?

I want to say it was around $65, but it was summer, which is usually a little lower, and probably 3-4 years ago.

awesome cause I am going in July. Sounds like a good value..

I just read on the Indian River Club website that the course is closed this summer for green restoration.

Can someone check to make sure I'm looking at the right place? How disappointing - we'll be there in August and DH wanted to try it out.

Man what a bummer, it looked like a great course. I guess Sandridge or Point West it is...
