Morning everyone,

We are heading to the sunshine state in just over 2 weeks. My DH is looking to plat at one of the Disney golf courses.

We had a look online and seen they do great last minute tee off times when you book the day before, however not sure which course is best? He doesn't want to play oak trail as its only a 9 hole course! Can anyway suggest which course to play?

Thanks Jenn

Hi,

I'm afraid to say you are a little bit restricted at the moment when comes to Disney golf as there are only two courses currently in use!

Osprey Ridge golf course closed a couple of weeks ago and with the Palm being shut due to being renovated/improved this only leaves Lake Buena Vista and the Magnolia left to choose from.

The Magnolia is the course they use on the PGA tour but I like to play Buena Vista as it makes it way through Saratoga Springs and Old Key West resorts.

I hope this is of some help.

I believe The Palm will be open in late October (I could be wrong it's what I was told when we were over a couple of weeks ago) and I'm afraid Osprey Ridge will never be open again as it has been purchased by the four seasons hotel group which is going to be making a lot of changes to the course and then reopening it under a different name.

So I think you are stuck with the two I suggested earlier but I can promise you your husband will like both courses as they are fun to play and offer a good challenge for golfers of all ability's

Mark

DH played Lake Buena Vista when we went in 2010. He loves the course and says it is by far the best course he has ever played. He is a green keeper here in the UK and is able to play at most UK golf courses for free and he sure does make the most out of that privilege.

The men in my family always play when we visit and they prefer LBV.

Although Magnolia is the course that has the Mickeyouse head bunker :)

Thanks for all our replies guys! 16 days and counting!

We are packing tomorrow (although everything has been stuffed in the cases on the spare room bed for AGES! Lol)

super excited xx

Looks like we go about the same time! We head to LGW on Thurs 12th and fly on Fri 13th :)

We are checking into the travelodge on the 13th and flying on the 14th! We are staying off site in a villa in Kissimmee

Many, many, many courses to play in the Orlando area. The Disney courses are nice and convenient but expensive. Now that there are only 2 courses open on the property they will probably be very busy. We are going in 3 weeks and I play 18 every day. I may play a round at Magnolia but will play 8-9 rounds elsewhere. If you have a car you should look at some of the other courses which are just as nice and are about 50% cheaper than Disney. Falcon's Fire is nice and is very close to Disney and I think I paid $30 for 18 and a cart.
