Dining reviews on the gold planday 1
9/8 - House of Blues. (lunch)
This is the first time weve been to HOB and we were not disappointed. This place tends to be more strict with the gold plan, I started with the calamari as an appetizer and dbf had the white bean chicken chili. Let me just say the calamari was really good. It had a garlicky lemon tasting sauce, not the usual marinara. The chicken chili was also very good and Im not even a chili person. For entrees I had the special which was swordfish done one of 3 ways. I had it blackened which I usually enjoy but this one was slightly overdone. It also came with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans which were excellent. Dbf got the cajun meatloaf. I stole a couple of bites of his and all I can say is yummmmy. I wish I would have ordered that. His also came with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. For dessert we both split the banana bread pudding dessert. This was probably one of the best desserts I had the entire trip. We also ordered coffees which were not included in our gold plan we were told. Total bill without coffee was 76.16 including tip.

I had originally requested a table by the window to watch wishes to celebrate dbfs birthday. Unfortunately due to transportation problems we arrived 45 min late for our ps. I had given up all hope of getting a coveted window seat. Well we checked in and they had it noted about the birthday so we went up to sit at the bar ...figuring wed just go our to watch wishes on the observation deck. I had a martini...very good and dbf had a jack and ginger and then our pager went off. It was unbelievable ...they showed us to a table at the very front of the restaurant with the most perfect view of wishes. I couldnt believe it. Anyway, on to the food.
We both decided to get sushi for an appetizer. Now, mind you ...this is the first time dbf has ever tried sushi. He got the snake in the grass...and I had a bonzi roll. Both were excellent ..dbf couldnt stop raving about his.
For entrees he had the filet and I had a halibut wrapped in banana leaves or something like that. His was once again excellent ..but I was disappointed in mine. It really had no taste.
For dessert he had a fruit dessert it was melons and sorbet and such. It was very refreshing.
We both decided to order tea. Once again...we found the tea was not included in the gold plan...but we both wanted it so we just paid extra.
Total bill .approximately $150. I lost the receipt on this one.
Servicea++++
Food - b+ - my halibut brought the score down a bit
Just our observations ..we had quite a few problems with the gold plan this time. I will definitely be e-mailing guest services.
