Going to WDW in August when and where to look for flights

So when we were looking to book our vacation we saw you could book your flights then if we wanted. After talking to a CM on the phone we decided to wait and see if we could get better flights closer to the date we leave. Well now that we've booked our trip I noticed there isn't a dedicated pace on Disney to check on flights.

My question is when is a good time to book flights, how far out? Also what sites do you use to check flights?

Start looking now. Hopefully you have a budget in mind on what you want to spend on airfare. If you find tickets at a price you're happy with, book them. Unless you're flying SW (where you can get credit if the prices drop), DON'T LOOK AGAIN. If you don't like the prices, don't book. Rinse & repeat.

As far as where to look at prices... I've been using google.com/flights. Others like Kayak, Orbitz, Travelocity, etc. I recommend purchasing direct from the airline however. If the airline web prices don't match, call the airline. Some (most) airlines will match what you see on other sites.

Your best bet is likely going to be Southwest out of BWI. Tickets for your dates go on sale December 8th. To get the best fares, book them as soon as they are available (around 6:30am EST).

edit: fixed on sale date.

Added to the list of many thing about this trip. I'll let the wife know too.

We fly out of Vancouver, Canada and are also attending DisneyWorld in August. I have already booked my Seats for 5. We paid $460CAD per ticket. People say to not watch the price after I've booked, but I cannot help it. I used google flights and still watch to see how the price fluctuates. Something tells me that around March the price could come down to $380, but no guarantees.
