Going to WDW? Free custom maps!

I saw that on the Disney web site there are free customised maps of the parks. They ask you about your favorite attractions and other questions about your upcoming vacation, and 2-3 weeks later, you get your maps! They are beautiful! Your name will be on the maps, and tips for your trip are included.
These come through Disney Destinations.

Thanks for the heads-up, I wasn't aware of this. I just finished making and ordering my 5 maps! I can't wait to see them. That was a lot of fun.

I just received mine and was not impressed.

By indicating my favorite attractions I thought it would highlite these attractions on the map. The maps are not customized., they are preprinted and they just imprint your list of favorite attractions off to the side in black.

They look nice but are to big to bring to the park as a guide.

They are folded so they are not suitable for framing, (creases).

I would like something small I can bring into the park with only the location of my favorite attractions indicated. I would use this to guide me through the park from attraction to attraction without missing any.

BUT they are free so no harm done.
The map is better than the one they have in the parks.
I may scan the map into my computer and really customize it showing the best route to hit all of my favorite attractions without missing any.

I just got mine yesterday and was also not very impressed. They still show every attraction in the park. The only custom part of it is they have your "favorites" numbered in a different color...and your name is on it.

Not sure what I will do with them, but free is great!!!

I want to get some for my kids to look at, and I've tried for two weeks and when I get to the final step I get an error. Happens in two browsers, and on different computers. So frustrating!

This happened to me last year. And I hate to say, I can not for the life of me remember what I did to finally get it. I'm wanting to say I went through a different link or something. I was trying periodically for months before I finally got it to go through. Good luck!

I figured it out! I saw somewhere else that someone had the same problem, which they solved by un-checking the "use my itinerary" thingy (<--technical term). I unchecked it, and should receive my mediocre maps in 2-4 weeks. My dd is really excited (she is 6), she found the map in the planning dvd booklet to be "just too small!".

LOL. They aren't free really. We all pay for those in one way or another.

I just don't get what the big deal is or what is so great about them. They're just maps as others have said. And, why on earth would having your name on the map be a big deal? I can write it on a map for you in sharpie.

For the amount of money I'm spending on this trip, I'll take any Disney freebies I can get!
