We will be arriving at US/IOA on Tuesday June 10th and staying either three or four nights. How bads are the crowds at this time? I'd like to stay on site, but the cost!!!! :scared1: BUT if the crowds are really terrible at this time of year, I'll have to bite the bullet and stay on site. What are your recommendations? We will be traveling with a 14, 12, and a 10 yr old. And we are a couple in our mid 40's and not in the best of shape, but terribly out of shape---but not that great either! ;)

Well, I would always stay onsite no matter what time of the year it is as long as I could afford to do so. You will be there after the crowds have started to pick up and that FOTL access is amazing. It just makes the trip so much more enjoyable.

I'm sure others will be along soon with their opinions.

dont know about crowds, but love being onsite.

I was there this past June from 4-11 and yes it will be very busy and if you can stay onsite I would for the fotl so that you won't have to wait 60 to 90 mins on the rides.

Not only that...it will be very hot and humid...not as bad as August but bad just the same. If you stay onsite, you can head to the pool for the hottest period of the day and/or take a nap and then go back in the evenings.

You hit the nail right on the head and also you won't have to take that long walk to your get in a hot car or wait on taxi's or shuttle buses like we did cause we stayed offsite last year

I recommend staying on site to take advantage of the express pass. The lines are long during the summer in the month of June. :)

Chiming in to agree with everyone here. Yes USO hotels are pricey, but they are equal to WDW deluxe hotels. The FOTL and easy access between the parks and hotel make it well worth it IMHO

Okay, you've convinced me to stay on site! I was hoping that early June wouldn't be so bad crowd wise---but it sounds like it is. The only time we stayed on site at Disney was May 2005, we stayed at a value resort and got it for $79 a night. BUT we did love being on site, so I'll just bite that bullet and stay at US, thanks so much for your help!

And staying onsite at Universal is even better than staying onsite at Disney because of that FOTL perk. You will love it!

Staying onsite at Universal is a step up from staying onsite at Disney - just because you can walk to both parks!

You can get several discounts if you try. There is the AP discount, the AAA discount, if you become a Loews member you can get an upgrade (if available), there is the SuperSavers (I just found out about them) you can ask when you call to make the reservation about the SS (you must call Loews directly). I believe there is a "sticky" about this on top of these threads. It is so worth it, you won't regret it. By the way, the cheapest of the three is Royal Pacific but it is a beautiful hotel nonetheless. HTH :cool1: :thumbsup2
