Going to South Padre...need help!

Hi dis friends! My family and I are going to South Padre Island this summer and was wondering if you guys have any tips? Any good beach rentals, eating places, beach spots??? It will be 4 adults and 4 kiddos. We are planning mid-july (nuts, I know..probably hotter than I would like, but it works with your schedule! ). So, if any of you have anything you could share, I would really appreciate it! Thanks!!

I actually grew up twenty minutes from there! Check out the Saida Towers. It's right in the middle of the island, the location can't be beaten. Also, my sister's in-laws actually own a beach house that they rent out. Let me know if you want their info.
