Going to see Harry this weekend?

Probably sometime next week, after Thanksgiving.

We like to go after the crowds have thinned out a bit.

Going Saturday at 12:40 at the IMAX. Going to watch Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince back-to-back tomorrow night after work to get ready!

I'm with you on this one! I don't like it when I'm sitting shoulder to shoulder with someone and there is talking going on all around me. The last midnight showing I went to was noisy and there was texting galore! I'm good with waiting and paying less for a matinee. :goodvibes

My DH, 2 DD's (14 and 9) and myself are all going to see it at midnight tonight. And yes, we are all going to school and work tomorrow.

Taking the wife, DS10 and DD13 to the 12:15am showing. Leaving for the theatre in about 45 minutes. :goodvibes

I have my ticket for 11:50am tomorrow. Put the kid on the bus, run a few errands and head to the movie!! Our theater has a directors hall with assigned seats and it's stadium seating in the back. I got front row in the elevated seats, dead center. No heads in my way and rail to put my feet up on. Getting a big old tub of popcorn, some sour patch kids and a jumbo soda.

I am psyched!

We went to a private screening this evening. They crowd for the midnight show was in line at 6pm. Crazy!

BTW, loved it!! :thumbsup2

Who's going to see Harry Potter this weekend? Better yet who's going to midnight showings tonight??? DH and I are going Sunday!

DH and I are going Sunday as well! Can't wait!

My DD is there right now. Her college took several bus loads and sold out the tickets in a couple hours when they went on sale a couple weeks ago. She said they booked 1 whole screen (theater) in one of the theaters.

I had to mail her her robes and wand last week.

I'll probably go next week. Saw a preview earlier and it looks awesome. So sad its almost the end of the movies though.

We're probably going during thanksgiving break. I want the die hard fans to get their fill before I have mine.

I'm just home from the midnight showing (east coast). I liked how the theater handled it this year MUCH better than the last midnight release. In the past, everyone had to stand outside in line until about 30 minutes prior to showtime, and then they seated us Disney Style (fill the row entirely, don't leave any empty seats), okay Theater one is full no empty seats, lets seat the next theater full. Ugh. We ended up in the front, packed like sardines. And we were tired after almost 2 hours standing in line (with tickets purchased ahead of time).

Today, we arrived at 10:15, and there was no line. I was shocked! Aha...they were seating peple. And we got put in a theater that was about 1/3 full when we arrived. And no barking employees telling us where to sit. Hmmm...and when the movie started, the theater was only about 3/4 full.

I think they realized that the way they did it before was uncomfortable for people. I guess they figured 10 theaters 75% full would be better than 7 theaters 100% full. It was much nicer. And I think that they realized making us stand outside in line for 2 hours would mean we couldn't buy popcorn, soda, etc. popcorn:: Since we were all seated for so long, I noticed that almost everyone had time to go load up on refreshments (smart on their part!)

I won't give away the movie :cool1:

Just got home from the midnight premiere! Thought it was the best movie yet!

Excellent movie - and I think it held more true to the book than any previous movie. It had a lot of humor in it and some teary moments as well.

Thats how they did it last night in our theater too! We got there around 10:15 and were pretty far back in the line but managed to get the seats I like- the end of a row with the handicap row in front of us so no seats on the end in front of me. They let us in around 10:30. It was packed so they ended up showing it at 12:01 (ours), 12:05, 12:10, 12:15 and 12:20!

Loved it!

Question: did anyone have previews?

They showed what seemed like about fifteen previews before each film (I did the thing where you bought a ticket for $20 and saw Order of the Phoenix, Half Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows back to back - It was better than sitting in a line in the theater lobby. There were a lot of kids in line before six to see Deathly Hallows at midnight. Although the three-movie deal wasn't in Imax or anything.)

We're going on Saturday evening. It's a rare Saturday for us, because we my DH, my DS and I are all off work, so we are going to a college open house at Hofstra in the morning, going to DS12's soccer game after that, then we plan to head to the theater and get into whatever showing we can get into, even if it takes all night;)
