Going to Orlando, but not WDW- vaccation!

Hello,

My in-laws live in Orlando, and my family and I are travelling over from Europe to visit them this november. The in- laws are older people, so the trip will be a combined vaccation and "helping them out" trip.

On top of that, my boyfriend is not exactly a Walt Disney World fan.

But I am hoping to get to sneak in at least a little Disney while being in Orlando. I know I will be crazy for staying in a house about 30 minutes from WDW for about 3 weeks :confused3
We have two small children, the oldest is 3 and then alittle baby. I am hoping to "use" the excuse that it would be so much fun for the 3-year old. :rotfl:

So hopefully we get to spend 2-3-4 days in Disney world, but not in a row.
Perhaps Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom since my family are really into animals. And perhaps some nice dinners since my boyfriend are really into nice food :)
What would you do with so little time?

Wish so much we could stay at a resort hotel a couple of nights, but it's probably a waste of money since we have a house offsite.

If you want any advice, dump the boyfriend. Any man who doesn't like WDW has got to have a screw loose.

:rotfl: Well, since we have two kids I don't think that would be the right thing to do ;) Even though I LOVE Walt Disney World!

Disney is so cool in that is has something for everyone!!
Does he like Golf? He can play the Disney Course while you and the kiddos do Disney.
But - I really think if he'd open his mind to it - there's a lot more at Disney you both will love.
My husband and I don't have kids yet - and we love to go to Disney World!!
We love riding the big rides (Rock n Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, All the Mountains...)
He loves the Kali River Rapids, I love spending a day walking around Epcot and exploring each World thru the food and shopping...
We are both foodies and love to explore all the food and wine Disney has to offer!
I hope you talk him into a visit and I hope you get to do lots of fun things at Disney World!
If I only had 2 days - I'd do a Magic Kingdom day and an Animal Kingdom day.
ETA - at the end of your Animal Kingdom day (cause it will be a shorter day) You gotta try Jiko!
Our absolute favorite fancy restaurant to eat in!

Welcome to the Boards!

Piglet: Thanks a lot for your tips and suggestions :-) That is greatly appreciated.

I think you are right, we will find something that we both like. I know it will not be the perfect WDW trip, but 2-3 days is better than nothing! :) Guess we will do one day at MK, and one day at AK. And perhaps one day at Epcot, if we get a chance. See that there is a food and wine festival, that might appeal to my better half ;)

The F&WF is the whole reason for our upcoming trip - we can't wait!!
I hope you get a chance to go to that also!!
