Going to Iceland & and Norwegian Fjords 2019

OK got another question for those who to this cruise or one like it. When you flew to/from to London and/or Copenhagen, did you go through Disney air or on your own? Any information about airlines would be helpful since have never been there.

You should check with Disney for air options. It is a 50/50 proposition. Mostly, we have found Disney higher, or, lacking in flexibility. For example, they can do a reservation for you for next summer, but they can’t reseerve the seats until 3-4 months before the flights, as they don’t pay the airlines until that time. We are picky, preferring to fly American Airlines out of Dallas, which avoids many connections. If you are not picky about connections or seats, Disney may have some better options for you. Finally, check Norwegian or Icelandic Air for some pretty good deals to and from Europe. My experience (which includes over 100 trips to Europe) is there is never a simple answer. You have to check the various options based on what is most important to you (price vs ease and comfort of travel).

The worst is returning from a transatlantic and discovering one-way fares are about the same as round trip. We are using miles, but many guests are going with Norwegian Air as the price is really good.

In 2015 we did Air Berlin into Copenhagen (but they no longer exsist) and British Airways from London. We did a lot of looking and found multiple options. There were benefits on the schedules and different classes. We also did one extra day on the front end and a few on the back. If price is the only thing that matters it might be close but I bet you can find both better scheduels and prices without Disney.

Edit to add - We will be doing the WBTA in 2019 and already looking at options outside of the mouse's grip.

Thanks for the information. Same here don't want to drag luggage to train after 18 hours on flight. We've just reserved Horizonprivatehire pickup and tour. Only heard good things about Gary and his service. have a great trip.

We just returned home last night. The cruise was incredible. Seriously amazing sights to see at every port. And Gary was there when we disembarked, took us on a fabulous tour of Dover and Leeds Castle and then took us to our hotel in London. We had a great day with him as our tour guide. Enjoy!

Thanks, have looked into the Norwegian after reading your comment today and the prices look pretty good and refundable if you go premium flex. So many options. It can be over well meaning.

Get some sleep. We have already reserved Gary for an airport pick up and an all day tour. Thanks for confirming that he is great. Now I'm wading through airline options, tickets for our cruise will be available next week so gotta make some decisions cause I know they go fast.

same here, but going to talk to Disney anyway to see what they've got. But learned talking to them that if you purchase the non-refundable ticket you're pretty much stuck with it is restricted--you can't do change fees since purchased thru Disney can only do that when purchase direct from carrier yourself. Only flexibility is the flex ticket at twice the price of the restricted.
