Got another trip booked at Hilton Head for October. But unfortunately this is when the beach refurb will be at Disneys Beach House backdoor. Very disappointed.

So any advice on what to do or how to enjoy the beach area with this going on?

I thought it was supposed to be finished by July.
No, been pushed back. October dates are at the Palmetto Dunes area. I am assuming we will just have to go to another area of the beach and probably won't be utilizing the beach house that much, which I would like to do but probably won't.

Unless the dates gets pushed back further for some reason, it will effect out trip. Will probably just do one beach day now because of this.

Well, that's a bummer. But I still say that I'm SO thankful this didn't happen last summer when my DH and I renewed our vows right on the beach at the Beach House. We may have to cancel our October trip anyway, but if we don't, we will just enjoy our time at the marsh instead. We don't have to do the beach when we go to Hilton Head. But I know we are in the minority.

The project will be going on 24/7 once it begins (currently set for mid-June) and will cover 200-300 feet of beach each day. The DVC Beach House area will be done in early October so depending on your travel dates, the beach may already be completed. An option would be to just walk up or down the beach from the Beach House about 400 yards and you will likely be able to enjoy the beach during your stay.

HH's beaches were pretty well battered with the storms last fall and this is a much needed project. Here is a link to the refurb map showing approximate dates for various areas. HH Beach Refurb 2016 The Beach House is on the left end of the red October area on the map between the Omni Resort and Marriott Resort.

We will just move up or down The beach I suppose. We will be there the
7th-11th so we will see.

I will be there in May. Does this mean that the letter I received about the area around the Beach House is incorrect?

Hi. Part of me actually wants to see some of that beach work being conducted - based on the description on the Hilton Head website...it looks fairly interesting (or maybe I am just telling myself that since, odd are, some part of our planned, much anticipated, return trip in the late summer will be impacted). Maybe anyone who is impacted will at least have the chance to see something (even from afar) kind of cool from a coastal engineering perspective that we otherwise would not be exposed to....
