Do most people who fly in from the east coast fly into LAX? What about John Wayne airport...I think iit is only about 12 miles away? Who is your recommended shuttle service to and from the airport, bus, taxi or limo?

I'm flying in from Alberta, Canada and we are arriving at the LAX. Would have preferred the John Wayne because it's quieter but the airline we wanted to fly with only flies into the LAX.

I just inquired about transportation from the airport too. Graylines has a shuttle service. There is also a super shuttle and limo services too. Sorry, I don't have links for the latter. Check out my thread on "Transportation".

If a flight is available, I prefer Long Beach. It is a tiny airport which is easy to navigate. Some shuttles don't serve this airport, but for a family of 3 or more, a cab is a relatively cost effective way of getting to the resort.

On the occassions when we fly from Phoenix, we prefer John Wayne (SNA). It's usually cheaper or the same as LAX but it's a lot smaller and therefore not as hectic. Cab was about $40 each way. Supershuttle was about half that.

I have heard good things about Long Beach too though.

We are fans of Jet Blue into Long Beach and use Super Shuttle included in our vacation package. As a previous poster said Long Beach airport is very small, but easy...quite possibly the easiest airport I've ever been to. There are usually always taxi's and shuttle service stand by vehicles waiting across the street from the terminal, very easy...we like it!

Looks like we'll be going to the park at the same time, from the same airport, on the same airline! (okay, 3 days apart):cool1:

I have to throw in another vote for long beach! We have always only used SNA or lax if in a pinch. But we loved john wayne...it's small and easy. But long beach is that and then some! It was not stressful at all and I loved that. Just an in and out airport, quick and then you are on your way :)

John Wayne or LB are my vote! They are smaller and easier to navigate, plus a shorter commute to the park.

Definitely Long Beach. It's a much closer commute to the park and close to the beach! Have a great time! :cool1:

That's awesome...aren't you getting excited!?! Well...I have been since we booked in May, I sooo need a vacation and soon! I hope you have a magical trip!! :wizard:

P.S. I think we will be missing HM (closure for HMH overlay?) and SM if that is indeed getting the Ghost Galaxy overlay :sad2:

We like John Wayne in Santa Ana. Smaller, easier to get around and a super shuttle is only $40 total usually for 2 people.

Keep in mind that Long Beach actually deplanes onto the tarmak. So if you have someone that has a hard time navigating the steps, you may want to consider SNA. We like them both. We would NEVER do LAX- a madhouse.

Long Beach has a virtual zero wait for security. When we arrived, we got off the plane, walked about 100 feet and had a potty check. Within another 1oo feet our luggage was comi9ng out on the carousel!!! Very fast!!! But keep in mind the only place to grab a bite to eat before you take off is BEFORE the security point. I ran back and got us sandwiches to eat on the plane and had to get drinks from the vending machine near the gate as the snack cart was closed. It's that small! LOVE IT!
