going to DLR soon, plz help

i was wondering is anyone could make a list of all the quests that are out. thx!!!

Last I heard - the only in park quest right now is the Pirate's quest. This week they have been out of the animation prize - so they took the cards down.

We still did the HSM quest in April.

Hopefully by the time you go - they will announce the new quests.

When I was there last Friday they had the Pirates one and Animation ones only. But from seeing another post here they took the Animation ones out since they had no more cards. Can always check to see when you go if they do have them again. Plus between now and the time you go maybe they will have the new Tomorrowland one and/or Summer one. I'm waiting on those to finally show up now. And they still haven't taken the High School Musical quest of the VMK site so can always try to turn that one in for those items. Doesn't hurt to try.

Berry, Bugdozer said that at WDW when they made new people at VMK central that they got the black ears etc. Do you know if this is true of Disneyland too. **crossing my fingers for a yes answer**

I read somewhere that Disney was no longer doing it, as some people had abused the privilege. Don't know if that was just a rumor.

Hmm hadn't heard that before. We should be going on Mother's Day so I will have to set a time for me and my oldest to go make a couple of toons and see what happens but I don't see why they would take that away as it was an extra bonus for doing it in the park and not everyone gets to go to one of the parks to do it.

I haven't heard of this. It does seem like it would be odd to take that away. I know they did stop offering the GOLD ears, but that wasn't an item automatically given to park created characters...but rather you had to buy a hat (you had to buy it at a certain shop in WDW, don't know about DL) and you got a card to redeem it for gold ears. But since that was part of the 50th celebration, those are no longer available. But I never heard anything about black ears retiring. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

They did offer the gold ones in Disneyland as well during the 50th the same way as they did in WDW. Sadly I had bought our ears before they started doing it and then forgot to take them with us and try to get the cards for them. But I really don't see why they would get rid of the black ears. It just doesn't make sense.

Yep I know they did it in DLR as well, but just wasn't sure if they required you to buy a hat in a specific shop like they did at WDW. Sorry, should have clarified that more!

But I agree, it doesn't make sense why they would stop giving away the black ones, especially if the reasoning is "abuse of privileges." How would one abuse it? By creating multiple characters there? With all the people that pass through the parks, it would be very difficult to nail them down to one specific person and say it's an abuse of privileges.

Yes it was certain shops for those ears at the time. Which is also another reason I would forget cause I would go to the place in Tomorrowland and got them done at the time since it was one of the few places to still do the old hand stitching of the names back then and if I remember right they did not give the cards out in that spot.

And agree. How would they know it was being "abused"? It would be impossible. Plus why would they care how many were made by one person? Obviously some might want more then one pair for possible trade reasons for things they don't have and would like or just because they want it for another toon they started long before going to the parks (which would be a reason for me to make another lol) or whatever other reason one could find.

We made a character at Disney April 13th and got the clothes we picked, the room we picked, and the born in symbol. Nothing else. Somebody thought it had changed back, but I haven't heard it confirmed.

I know there was an issue (possible bug) recently where any newly created character wasn't getting all the extra clothes and the 200 credits to start with. I created three characters between March and April and only got the clothes I picked and the room I picked. None of the extras were there. But someone I know recently made a character in the last few days and got the extras...and others here thought that this was a possible bug that happened. This is all outside of park made characters, though (though I do have a park made character that I made 2 years ago and is my main character).

ETA: I'm in line for the host room right now so I can ask Phinny about this.
