Going Solo

The best thing is doing whatever you want, whenever you want, wherever you want! :cool1:

I'll try not to be too vague. But when I was alone I enjoyed strolling around World Showcase. Well Actually I just strolled everywhere. If you've ridden all the rides, just take the time to walk around, take in the surroundings, people watch. Also I would go around a talk to other families...But that's just me.

I am so excited, I am planning my first 'solo' trip and this is why I want to do it! :cool1:

I've been with friends and family before, and I always found I had to 'give in' and do what they wanted, or if they had a 'mood' on it was so difficult. This time (Jan or Feb 09) I'm going to do what I want when I want and not even have to consider anyone else.

let's see - stay where you want to,
go to bed and wake up when you want to,
go to whatever park and see whatever show
ride whatever attraction the number of times you want to (hmm lucky 13 for ToT sounds good),
eat where, when and what you want,
have shop til you drop days,
veg in a pool or water park for the day
shall I go on............

Single Rider Lines at Expedition Everest, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and Test Track. :thumbsup2

Yes!:thumbsup2 For example, on a recent solo trip, I happened to see a rainbow at Splash Mountain. I must have spent 1/2 hour there after that, trying to get just the right picture. Then I went to Ghiardellis another day and had a sundae for lunch (when I wanted lunch, my own lunch at my own time). Ah-solo trips!

I spent the better part of a day just riding the various
transportation systems - did the monorail loop and the
trip to Epcot and back, took the boat from Contemporary
to Ft. Wilderness, tried the different boats to other resorts,
just wandered around the resorts.

All stuff I'd never done with family or friends who each
have their own things THEY want to do.

I loved riding the train at MK for three loops around
sunset when I was tired.

I finally get to be selfish, about everything. No dishes, no laundry, no cooking. Yeah, you don't have to do all that on a vacation with your family either, but on a solo trip - they're doing it at home and you're not!

I "re-set" my inner self while I'm alone at Disney. When I come back, I'm ready to tackle real life again.

For me I really like to be able to do whatever-whenever I want. Especially when it comes to eating. This year I'm splurging and have a 12-night trip booked with the deluxe dining plan. I am really looking foward to that.

When I go to Disney I like to get up early, and make rope-drop at the parks, and spend the morning seeing and riding all the headliner attractions, and then spend my afternoons just walking around the parks, and browsing in the shops, etc, things that I never do on my trips when I'm with people. I also like to go to bed pretty early, around 10:00 when I'm at Disney, as well as having a very early eating schedule, 8:00 breakfasts, 11:00 lunches, and 5:00 dinners. (Plus that dramaticly cuts back on wait times while waiting to be seated.)

Then I went to Ghiardellis another day and had a sundae for lunch (when I wanted lunch, my own lunch at my own time). Ah-solo trips!

When I was solo I had school bread in Norway for lunch! ... and since I was solo, no one told me I couldn't! ;)

I loved being solo at WDW! I just loved being on my own schedule.... doing what I want when I wanted to. I didn't have to follow anyone else's agenda.

No whining family members walking slowly and grumbling about waking up for rope drop. :woohoo: No DH asking why we need to spend more than one day total at the parks if we have a parkhopper.

I travel alot with my job, so I'm used to dining alone. I really enjoy doing whatever I want, whenever I want, wherever I want!

I normally go to WDW with a friend, but we do take time apart to do our own thing. We don't need to spend every minute together. I do plan on a solo trip just haven't decided when.

After all the rides are done, I enjoy walking around looking in various shops or find a spot to "People Watch". At MK I enjoy riding the train at the end of a long day.

I agree with everyone else. The best thing is being able to do whatever you want, whenever you want. I love AK and MK, so I spend quite a bit of time at both. No one complaining. I don't have to worry about anyone else's needs but my own. Just be selfish. I have an AP, and I go several times a year. Besides, what's better than taking in all the Disney Magic just for me. The fireworks, the parades...I am getting excited just thinking about it. I can watch the same ones over and over again. I never get tired of Disney. Love it, love it, love it!!!!! :cool1: :cool1:

No one complains when you stopping to take yet another picture, or when you take 20 pictures trying to get it just right. Also, I find If I am solo, I am much more likely to carry the tripod around because no one will complain about it.

And as others have said, just the general freedom to do what ever you want when you want.

What is the best thing about going to WDW solo?:confused3

You get to do anything and everything on you're own schedule. You are your own boss! I love doing Disney solo. I can't wait 'til next month from golf, single ride lines, dining and Downtown Disney. It's the best!

I'm looking forward to just enjoying time alone seeing what I want to see without being rushed around or told "This is soooooooo boring"
