If we plan a trip for mid to late January is there any chance that the Christmas decorations will still be up or do they normally take them down right after christmas?

They'll be down pretty much by the end of the first week of January. You might see bits and pieces still up, particularly in the resorts, but by mid-to-late January, the holiday decor will be gone.

We are planning a trip next January also. I am going late January to avoid the Marathon and the MLK holiday weekend. Can someone tell me what the crowds will be like? Thanks.

I was there this past January (20th through 26th) and saw no Christmas decorations. The crowds were tiny. The longest wait we had was 25 minutes for Test Track one afternoon. The rest of the rides were either walk-on or 10-15 minutes max. Most of them didn't even have FastPass in use. The weather was pretty chilly in the mornings (we wore sweatshirts and jackets), but pleasant in the afternoon (light sweater and pants).

They started started taking things down about 1/2. WL had everything taken down the night of 1/12. The parks were all down before the marathon weekend started on 1/9. The marathon doesn't really add that much to the crowding. We were there this year and didn't see that big of a surge.

To visit WDW the Christmas decorations will be down but low crowds mean excellent touring with little or no waits. The weather should be nice also.Have a great trip and magical vacation.::yes:: :goodvibes :wave2:
