Howdy! We became new members in Oct. and will be heading to OKW (2 bdr) during the first two weeks of June. I know that there are some items available in the condo already but what are things that you always try to remember to bring along? We will be using the full kitchen at least once or twice a day. And there are a total of six of us.....2 adults, 4 kiddies. I am already planning to bring extra laundry supplies.......what else? Someone mentioned extra spices for cooking....what about regular salt and pepper? Extra towells or can we just ask for those? Thanks for all the help because I really need it!

If you are a coffee drinker I would suggest the kind that is already packaged in the filter. You will get enough in the room for only one or two pots. I would also suggest a few videos for the kids if they are still at that age. DVC members do get free rental of videos but we found that the little ones seem more at home if they have some of the usual videos. Again, depending on the age of the kids, a night-lite is not a bad idea. Have fun.

You can request more towels for a fee (I think), but I find it's just easier to toss them in the washer each day. Be sure to include a can of non non-stick cooking spray for the skillet. Some folks bring a fitted sheet for the king bed in the master bedroom because the one on the bed is not fitted and comes off easily. I always include some "comfort" foods that pack easily like cereal, peanut butter, etc. I always grocery shop while there, also, but maybe not the first day, so these get us started. The new laundry detergent tablets travel well along with dryer sheets. Extra sugar for cereal and coffee. Muffin cups made from aluminum foil and packages of muffin mix. There is no muffin pan in the kitchen, and these cups will not flatten out like the plain paper ones. These are just a few of my things I bring every time - I'm sure others have their own lists. You will truly love OKW and the 2BR unit. Have a wonderful trip!

You will have a great time. There is plenty of room in the 2br. We always place an order through netgrocer.com for all our non-perishables that are too large to bring ex. cereal, macaroni, jar sauce, crackers, peanut butter, jam etc. Then when we arrive we shop at the grocery on the way and have the bell services store the frozen and cold food for us. The netgrocer packages are held at the desk until you check in. I bring the soap tablets and dryer sheets. I bring salt and pepper shakers, the plastic kind you buy for picnic use, they are about .99 at the supermarket. I also have little plastic bottles, bought at the camping store to put spices in. Each time we go, we think of more to send ahead and more small things to bring along. I save my list from the last trip and start from there. We usually eat in at least two night of the week stay and have breakfast "at home" more mornings than not. Hope some of this helps.

sufficient pots, pans, dishes, silverware?
Didn't ask at the tour and didn't even think about it till reading this thread. they have a full kitchen so they have to have these things right?

You might want to consider bringing a non stick skillet.

BuzzandWoody - yes the kitchen has everything you need pretty much. Like I said, I bring muffin cups usually. I am in Osceola, which is in the northeastern part of Arkansas, on the Miss. River. I usually fly out of Memphis. We used to come to Hot Springs some - I love it down there. Haven't been in about 5 years. Good to see someone from AR on the boards and in DVC!

We bring coffee and the round #4 filters, tea bags, juice drink mix, peanuts, p-butter, jelly, small jar of mustard or mayo, breakfast bars, candy and snacks. We have brought dryer sheets and laundry sheets. Stop at a grocery and buy milk, butter, cold cuts, bread, fruit, cerial and bottles of beer, soda and water. Freeze the water bottles and bring it to the parks. There is an ample supply of kitchen articles and towels at the pool. Bring night lights and special bedding for the kids. Bring flip flops for trips to the pool (and water parks). Bring sun tan stuff, nose plugs and all needed swimming items. Bring special shampoo and conditioner (they will supply a little bottle only) and any special soap or toilet article. Bring mole skin, band-aids and baby powder for your shoes and your favorite cold medicines. Have a blast and remember whatever you forget, you can buy it there....probably with a mouse on the package.

Thanks for all of the replies! I will put them to good use. I loved the nightlight idea......I would have never thought of that and yet it will be one of the BEST tools we bring. It will quell some of the "I'm scared!'s" Thanks for the big list BillPA. We are really excited to be going. Somebody pinch me!

I like the idea of bringing a king sized sheet too but since we don't have one I will have to wait until a huge clearance sale hits this area. Thanks again! Time to start packing!
