We will be staying at the VWL in October in a 1 Bedroom. My parents have decided to visit the World for a couple of days during the second week of our stay. My question is: Can I request to have a two bedroom for a couple of days without having to move? That is, can the adjoing studio be opened up for us, or is this not allowed because of the difficulty of manipulating room assignments to free up that specific studio for those dates?

My guess is that I am out of luck, but I wanted to see if the group had an answer before I bother member services with a request. I also don't want to put the offer out there to my parents until I know it can be done. If I have to move to do this then it is not going to be offered.

Thanks,

Mike

We recently had a similar situation. We needed a studio for one night, then a 2 BR for the rest of our trip. We asked if we would be able to keep the same studio and open it up to the 2 BR when we needed it. MS told me that it was possible and noted it as a request, but that it couldn't be guaranteed. She told me that I wouldn't know for sure until we got down there. As it turned out, we changed our plans and needed the 2 BR for the entire time, so I can't really tell you how it turned out! So yes, it is possible, but probably won't be guaranteed. Good luck, I hope it does work out for you!

I called MS a couple days ago with a similar question about OKW. We're wanting a studio for one night, then a 2BR for the rest of the trip. I wanted to know if we could keep the studio as part of the 2BR. The lady at MS said they get that request all the time and can note it on the reservation, but it's not guaranteed.
Anyone have success with this sort of request?

Oops, didn't see mouseclick1's reply until after I posted this. :)

That's a common request. I think chances of being able to have it happen are best at OKW since there are no dedicated studios. If you request a lock-off 2 bedroom I'm sure they'll do their best to have it work out.

It's also possible at the other resorts but the logistics are just trickier since there are some dedicated studios.

It's nearly impossible, but not unheard of. CMs note requests, but the last 3 times when I requested just adding the studio right next door, it ended up being a "no". The best they could do for me was a studio on the other end of the parking lot, which seems a bit far away for teenagers. It's just a much more complicated reservation than the usual.

PamOKW, I believe there are some dedicated studios because we had one either last year or the year before. It was in the new building kitty corner from Olivia's. If it wasn't I surely don't remember the adjoining door:confused: The location was great and we had little otters visit us, and of course ducks and bunnies.

Alice, I took a little poetic license. There seems to be some debate as to whether there might possibly be some dedicated studios like you had. Others (myself included) seem to think we may have had them also, but can't swear to it. ;)

Thanks for all of your input. This actually became a moot point when Dad called to say that he booked a courtyard view in the Wilderness. This is probably best since they will be close, but not too close ;) .
