Going back to where it all started- Sept. 2010 PTR

I've heard very good things about the Kim Possible missions. I think Marc & I are going to try one in September. :thumbsup2

I'm jealous you snagged a Le Cellier ADR. I still can't get one. Oh well.

Hey Meghan,
Kinda getting it, but how do I do past updates? I can't figure that out! Sorry to be a pain!!! but thank you!! :)

Click on the post # in the upper right hand corner. It will open up a new window with just that post in it. Copy the link (the "www" at the top) and then you can click out of that window. Go back to your post saved for chapters and click edit (I always do the advanced edit). Then, you should be able to follow the other directions I posted (with the littel earth thing).

We'll probably hit Nemo, never done Turtle talk with Crush, so that seems like something we should check out, for sure. From there, we'll visit Figment, have lunch and do some of the World Showcase afterwards. Last time we had the kids do the Kidcot stations, they loved them, maybe we'll do them again? Or...i was thinking of checking out the Kim Possible? Has anyone done this before? thoughts? Will the boys like it as much as the girls? Or are they still too young? Any input is appreciated there!

Your boys would LOVE Kim Possible! It is definately not just for boys. Actually, I don't think you even see Kim Possible on the little cell phone devices! So far, we've done Mexico, China, Germany and Japan missions. Madison can't wait to do the other 3 (I think there are 7 total). It's definately something fun to do and the CM's are very helpful. For the China mission, you even get a fortune cookie that has a "clue" inside it!

We also love the Kidcot stations. Madison didn't make a mask last time, but she got the Passport stamps. In "The Guide to the Magic" there are spots for the stamps (or you could buy the Passport for $10 at Epcot) and spots for the CM's to autograph. Madison has little messages from the CM's in their native languages that she thinks is so cool.

Hi guys!
Hoping to write more later but just had to share....this is fun and free!

http://disney.go.com/charactercalls/piccolinismiles/

Mickey called Lucas last night....so cute!! He loved it and had a BIG grin on his face before bed last night!! It truly is the little things in life!!!:wizard:

This is awesome! It's too late right now to send a call, but I just previewed it on the computer with Henry on my lap and Mickey said good night to Henry. Completely adorable, thank you for the link! I think we might do it during the trip too. :goodvibes

Hi girls,

Too late for me to update tonight....so sleepy!:guilty: But I will update tomorrow....just wanted to thank Meghan for her help in assisting me in my table of contents! I finally figured it out!

Sweet dreams DIS friends!!:cloud9:

The calls are super cute. What a neat idea!

All of your plans look great. I'm voting for Soarin' first but then again I'm not a huge Test Track fan.

I bet the kids would love Kim Possible. And if they don't, you can always let some other agents save the world from evil. :upsidedow

Lunch at Le Cellier. :cloud9:

I have no idea how I missed that you started this, but I'm glad I found it! :goodvibes I'm so bummed we miss each other by just a couple weeks though! I'm missing quite a few DISers just by days it seems....thankfully there are a few I DO get to meet too!

SO glad you are here, Brook!!!! I'm bummed too that we'll miss each other...someday, we need to all coordinate, how much fun would that be?!!:yay:

Yep! It's pretty simple. Just grab your luggage and then head to ME, they will put all your suitcases under the bus. When you get to your resort you can either drag your suitcases yourself or have Bell Services bring them to your room. I liked LL's suggestion too of getting the cart, since ME is on the bottom level and baggage claim is in the "middle" level, this makes a ton of sense - really good idea!!

I think you guys are onto something for sure...poor Todd! LOL!! :lmao: Or maybe poor me with three little cranky boys...hmm....hee, hee! Who cares, we'll be in Disney World!!!!!:dance3:

Your Day 1 plans look so relaxing and enjoyable! A great way to start the trip. :thumbsup2

I saw someone else answered this, but in case you still aren't sure, let me know and I can help too.

Congrats on being PAID IN FULL! That always feels soooooo good! :yay: I think a little Dumbo for Cole would be so sweet! Henry hasn't seen that movie yet, and Netflix for some reason doesn't have it available? So weird. Guess it should go on the Birthday list!

SO surprised that Netflix doesn't have Dumbo! We are actually lucky, a friend with older kids gave us like 15 videos of old Disney movies, some that we didn't have on DVD, and since we still have a VCR, we grabbed them....the boys love Dumbo, you need to have Henry see it!!:cloud9: It was nice for Cole to see it, so he can recognize the ride next month, too....

Congratulations on 10 years!!!! :lovestruc What a wonderful way to celebrate it too!

I'm super bummed about IASW as well, thankfully Henry can't really remember it yet -so he doesn't know what he's missing. :rolleyes1 Have you ever missed it on a trip? :sad2:

I know, so sad!!:guilty: We've never missed it....my Mom always had us start there on our family vacations, we started there on our honeymoon, and every trip with the boys.....I'm sure they won't miss it (or maybe this will surprise me and will!) but Mommy will! :sad1:It's just a happy way to start the trip and Cole and Henry are at the perfect age to love it!

This is a GREAT plan. So, so good. I am gonna steal it for future trips I think. Henry is always WAY better behaved at lunch (and eats better too!) than at dinner. You are a smart Momma!!!

Oh Brook, this is a LIFESAVER for us!!! I've recommended it to all of our friends with young families that have gone and they are so thankful for it! At least you know the kids will eat, not be cranky, will sit and relax some, too. And at night, you don't care if they just eat a hot dog or something quick, you know? And we always love talking about what our favorite thing was from the morning, what we want to do again, what our plan is for the afternoon....and the potty break, sunscreen reapply is a plus, too!!:thumbsup2 Oh! And it tends to be easier to get ressies at the popular places, too, at lunchtime!

Exactly, exactly, exactly! I am really tempted to move all 2 dinner ressies to LUNCH....gotta talk to Joe....!

I am so excited that you started a PTR! I kept checking your last TR and then realized that it was closed! I'm looking forward to hearing all your plans and seeing if we will be at any of the same parks on the same days. We are staying at POR too, so maybe we will run into each other at the pool or the food court! :goodvibes

You guys are making me homesick for Plymouth with all your talk of walking on the waterfront!! My mom grew up there, so all of our childhood trips to visit my grandparents included going to the Mayflower and the Jenney Grist Mill... I just love it there! I love all the little shops and eating at the the Lobster Hut. :cloud9:

We too are arriving late at night and just missing the ME cut-off. Actually, I think our flight times have changed and we will actually get in 5 or 10 min before the cut-off, but I still think we will pick our bags up ourselves. I don't want to wait several hours in the morning to get our luggage. The luggage cart is a great idea!

Hey there!!!
SO glad you found me, so sorry about my last TR....ran out of time!!:headache: But off to a fresh start!!!:cool1:

Sounds like you know Plymouth well! I'm minutes away from all the things you listed....drove by them all today, as a matter of fact! Ethan is at camp at Steven field (where the farmers market is, on the water) every day!! Lucky boy!! ;)

I can't beleive we're going to be at POR at the same time!!!! Are you doing a PTR? What are your dates? Fill me in girl!! I hope we get to see each other!!

Kristen, if I've got this right...your first park day is 9/23? MK has morning EMH on that day. We are planning to go to MK on this day also. For some reason I am having a brain cramp...is there a rope drop ceremony on EMH mornings? If so, you could see that, then walk over to the Contemporary for your Chef Mickey's ADR. Best of both worlds.

Hmm.....you may be onto something...I figured we'd miss it seeing as we have to make it to the Contemporary for 8:35 ressies.....anyone know if they do the rope drop at MK on EMH mornings?? Thanks for the thought!!!:goodvibes

Are all the kids old enough/tall enough/want to ride both Soarin' and Test Track? If not, you might be able to get FPs to both-some tickets get the FP for Soarin', the others Test Track and take advantage of the max number of people you can put through on a Child Swap (I think it's 4?)! Joe and I do this all the time so we can stack those FPs!

Crush is such a fun show, I'm sure everyone will love it!

I think the kiddos will LOVE KP. It seems to be cool for all ages and both boys and girls since the phones make statues and things in the WS do some crazy stuff! They might need some help figuring out the clues, but that makes it fun for the adults too. ;) I've read on numerous reports that it's best to get 2 OR MORE phones when there is a group of children - all doing the same mission (you have to request that) - so their isn't any meltdowns on who is holding the phone, etc.

Brook! LOVE the way you think! No, not sure the Cole and Emmi (well, know she isnt for sure....) big enough for either of those rides!! Hmm...you may be onto something here! I never would have thought of that!!!!:thumbsup2

Sounds like Kim Possible is something we need to do for sure! Thanks for tips, I haven't read much about it, at all!

It sounds fun for all of us, doesn't it, LL? You'll have to let me know what you guys think of it! World showcase can be kind of slow for the kids, we loved the Kidcot last time, but it's nice to change it up some and an adventure makes it that much better!!

Bummer on not getting a Le Cellier ressies...fingers crossed you find one!!

Lunch at Le Cellier. :cloud9:

The call was SO cute! The funnier thing is, I sent Adam & Tracey the link so they could do it for the kids....well, come to find out, Adam made one for me! LOL!!:lmao: Unfortunately, I missed it the other morning when I was out running the kids somewhere! I would have loved it, too! :rotfl:

While the boys are busy watching 101 Dalmatians, I'm trying to sneak in a quick post! Shhh....we'll see how long they sit nice!:upsidedow

Day 4, Saturday, 9/25

This is our "down" day...we didn't do this last trip, we could have used it so we've scheduled this day for it. Not sure that I will be able to NOT go to the parks this day...even for a little bit, but that's between you and I right now. We figured we'd make it a pool day since our resort has some neat ones, check out the playground too and then make a trip to DTD for a bit and shop some. We have ressies for Raglan Road this night at 6 p.m. Love RR...we ate there last time and really enjoyed this meal! Mmmmm...bread pudding!!!! My thoughts are it would be nice to sneak over to MK, even for a couple of hours at night for fireworks or even in the a.m. for a bit.....but we'll see......we have the ticket, hate to see it go to waste BUT know it's good for the kids not to burn out too early in the trip, too!

On other notes....our countdown is made and ready for when we get down 30 days...it didn't turn out as nice as I wanted it, too, but the boys are happy, so that's all that counts! I bought the tiny stickers so that every day one of the boys can pick a sticker and it will countdown that day so eventually it will be covered with pictures of all the characters. It's cute enough! ;)

And we've been saving away...we save all of our change as a family, any time the boys find a penny in a parking lot, or in my car (lol!) they quickly pick it up and make sure it gets into our "Disney jar" and they are sure htat Daddy empties his pockets when he gets home from work, too! We also have little chores they do every day, they can earn $2 a week for, they know that 1/2 of it goes into our savings jar and the other 1/2 they can spend however they want, it's a nice way to work together as a family and teach them to work towards something they want, too!! They are getting excited to see it fill up, we have at least $200 in change ready to go!!:thumbsup2

Okay, that's about all the time I have for now....will update again soon! hope you're all having a nice day!!:cloud9:

It looks like our trips are going to overlap! :) We will be there 9/17-9-25. I'm very excited to follow your PTR and TR. I had begun to read one of your last ones as you were just becoming a Real Estate agent and ordering your business cards. I was so excited to follow your story because I also am working on getting my Real Estate license right now. :goodvibes. I am finally all done with my classes now I just need to schedule my exam and I'm good to go. I'm so nervous:eek:.

Your plans look great so far. It's nice that you have friends you vacation with so well. I think I may have to have Mickey give DH a call. I would love to see his reaction lol.

Hi!!! So glad you're here!!!

Congrats on almost becoming a Realtor!! I'm loving it, it's very slow, but I am SUPER part time right now, which was my goal from the get go, so that I can still be home with my boys, but so far so good! Best wishes on your exam, I'm not a student, so it was tough! I'm sure you'll do great!!!:thumbsup2 And I get you, I was SOOOOO nervous, too!!!!! Good luck!!

That would be funny if you had Mickey call your DH!!!:lmao: Love it!!

I'm going to check out your PTR now, too! Thanks for joining me!!! ANd sorry I never finished my last TR!!:guilty:

It works kind of like a FP. You can "sign-up" Innoventions (they have a sign where to go) or at a few locations by WS. They'll swipe your ticket and give you what looks just like a FP with a time and location to pick up your KIMunicator (looks like a cell phone). When you pick up your KIMunicator, you'll be given a misson to complete at one of the WS pavillions (I think you can pick which country you want to do). Once you're mission is over, you can either drop it off in a designated bin or choose another country for a new mission. It's a lot of fun!

I just updated my PTR with "The Plan", you were thanked in there for this advice! I emailed Joe at work with the idea and he was ALL about it. "Good point! Do it!" was his reply. Henry has gotten to be so hard to take out to dinner, we just get delivery now! Good thing everything from McDonald's to pizza to sushi can be delivered here. ;)

We aren't generally "Morning Rope Drop" people at Disney, but I do know we'll get to the parks earlier this trip because we are going to be walking to DHS and Epcot (and we are PLANNING an MK RD!), so I don't think the lunch ressie will be just an hour or two after we get there like it usually would be! :rolleyes1

So thank you again!!!

and it's not an actual FP, so you can still get Soarin', TT, etc. FPs while you have the KP one. :thumbsup2

ETA: All the realty talk makes me miss my old job!!! I always got so excited for the Realtors when they would pass their exams, sometimes I would get hugs, high fives and provide a shoulder to cry on! :goodvibes:

Thank goodness for my wonderful DIS friends, I learn so much! Thanks Meghan, writing this all in my Passporter as soon as I get off here!! sounds great!!!!:thumbsup2

I just saw that, my first shout out!! YAY!! LOL!!:lmao: I'm so glad you think it will work for you guys! And I SO feel your pain...3 year olds are not that much fun to take out to dinner and lunch and breakfast for a week straight, let alone one night! Just depends on their mood! I hope you have good luck with it, too!!!!:goodvibes

I know!! I remember talking to you about that last year....can you believe I've had my license an entire year now?! Where does time go?!!! Man, i was SOOOO excited last Summer when I passed! It was a good feeling!!!! Now, if I would only sell something....lol!!!!:wizard:

I made it Kristen! I LOVE that family photo on the beach!!

YAY! So glad you're here Alicia!!!!!!!!!:yay:

And thank you...I love it too....if you took me out of it! LOL!! Oh well.....think I look kinda funny in it...the angle...my weight...ugh! But the boys look good!! LOL!!:lmao

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share a tip with you all! I'm SOOOO excited right now! I just saved $245 on my airfare with Jetblue!!!!!!:yay: We joined this site called Yapta (look it up!) and it tracks your airfare for you with all the price adjustments. You just have to call the airline and they will credit you..Jetblue gives you credit towards another flight! But it still is a savings...since Todd flies to Philly to see family once a year anyways, his flight is already paid for this year!!! Just had to share! It only takes a few minutes to sign up and then they will send you emails when your price has changed, check it out!!
