Going back to where it all started- Sept. 2010 PTR
You have to let me know how the Hoop De Do is I'm thinking about doing this as well when we go in Feb. For all the times I have been to Disney I haven't done it and I think it looks cool.
I sure will, I'm sure it will be fun! how can you go wrong, it's Disney, right? ;)

You just need to use the link button (the little earth icon in the toolbar). Copy the link of your update, click the little earth icon, and paste the link you copied. Once you click "ok", there will be some letters and such highlighted. To put the title of your new chapter, just start typing and it will replace the letters and such that were highlighted. Get it? I actually had to get Jen's help with this on my first try! It took me FOREVER!

Okay, will try this later, don't laugh if you dont' see it...I'm slow at these type of things! LOL! Thanks for your help, Meghan!!:goodvibes

Yay! I'm so excited for your PTR.

Still bummed we are going to miss each other though.

Here is my suggestion for picking up your own luggage. I had to do it in January, granted I was just one person but I do have a suggestion. I would have Todd go and get a luggage cart (they have those, don't they?) and you stay with the kids. There is no need for all of you to trudge down there to get your luggage and then have to trudge to ME. If he goes and you and the kids stay out of the way I bet it will go much faster. You and the kids could even head down to ME already and sit in those chairs and wait for Todd with the luggage.

Hi LL! SO glad you're here! I know....still SO very bummed we're missing each other..one of these days!!

Great suggestion for the luggage run....you make it sound so easy, good tips! I have a visual in my head and I have to laugh though....I remember the last time we went, Cole was a baby (17 mos.), just to get off the shuttle bus at Logan, they dropped us at the shuttle bus drop off (3 lanes over from the entrance of the airport), so the kids are I went into the airport (it was Decemeber and cold, do you blame me?) and Todd had to run back and forth a million times to get our stuff...5 suitcases, stroller, diaper bag, carryons, etc. It was quite the vision! And the kicker? It was like 4:30 a.m. and there was NO ONE at Logan but the driver would not drop us at the curb!! :rotfl:

Just found your PTR and I'm subbing. popcorn::

We'll be leaving the day before you check in. We're also celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. :goodvibes

Happy planning. Can't wait to hear more.

Hi!!! SO glad you're here! thanks for joining along! And so sorry we'll miss each other, I'll need to go and check out your PTR! Happy Annviversary to you, too!!:lovestruc

Hi guys!

Happy Sunday!!

I'm at work (shhh....) and just thought I'd sneak in a quick hello! We're hoping to take the afternoon as a family, head to Plymouth waterfront for a nice walk and some ice cream! Sometimes weekends go by way too fast....so I hope you're finding that special time with your loved ones and enjoying yourselves some, too!!:goodvibes

Will try for a real update later today!!

PS....did you notice my ticker? One month, 2 weeks! WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!

1 month and 2 weeks!! Yippee!!! :yay: Plans for your first day sound great! :thumbsup2 The other option re: luggage is to pack what you'll need for that night and the next morning in a carry-on and let ME deliver your luggage the next day. But maybe that's not an option with kids and all the things kids require.... what do I know? :upsidedow

Have you used Garden Grocer before? I think you'll love it!

Enjoy your afternoon. Sounds delightful!

Hey Kristen! Excited to see your new PTR! You must be so excited to spend time with your BFF and your family again at Disney! We can't wait to go either! Our dates our 9/22-9/30/10 and we are staying at Kidani Village. We originally were taking that night flight out of Boston, but changed to the morning flight at 6am!! I got a good price on JetBlue (total of $400 for 2 of us).

I hope you were able to go for your walk. I am actually sitting here waiting for a friend to get off work to go for a walk on the waterfront too. We go 4-5times per week...park at the Jenny Grist Mill and walk along Town Brook down to Water St and keep going all the way down to Nelson Park. Sometimes we jump onto the railroad path to add another 3 miles, then turn around walk back (stopping at Fedele's for ice cream) and cross up to Main St at the rotary on the way back. It's a great walk. Today is a great day for it!

Maybe our paths will cross at Disney!

Subbing in on your PTR! :goodvibes

I think it would be sooooo much fun to go to WDW with friends & that have kids around the same age. Just like you talked about that ya'll will sit outside together after the kids go bed - that sounds so fun & relaxing!!

Thanks for dancin' with me, C! And thanks for your ideaa on ME and the luggage, not a bad idea, either! I guess it's good to have a couple of options and see how the night is going, right?

No, haven't used GG before...I'm glad to think you think i'll love it! They are scheduled to come between 9-11 that day, and I loved that we could already order when Tracey was out visiting last (July 4th weekend), so we could do it together and have it done. One less thing, you know?

We had a great afternoon, hope you did, too!!:goodvibes

Tiffany! Hi!! So glad you're here and you found me again!!! I can't believe we're going at the same time!!!! I so hope we cross paths, youll have to let me know as I'm posting my plan of attack for sure! I'd love to meet you! And I can't believe I haven't already, seeing as we are on the same path here at home!! We went to the waterfront this afternoon and parked at Village Landing and walked to the Mayflower and back and got ice cream. The boys were too tired to go to Brewster Gardens today. But it was gorgeous out there! We have HAD TO passed each other here in town for sure, it's too small!! Be sure to say hi if you see me!!!!:goodvibes

Hi! Thanks for joining me!! It's the best having company on your vacation...when the siblings get sick of each other they have their friends there too and it takes the pressure off the parents some. We had such a fabulous time last time, I can't wait to do it again!!!:yay: Tracey and I are sisters from another life-- our kids call us Aunt and Uncle, so it's really like family.:lovestruc Yay...not much further now!! Hope you stick around!!:goodvibes

Okay, so I have a countdown on my FB page...and this is what it says right now: 43 days, 05 hrs, 49 mins, 25 secs ......ALMOST 42 days!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1::woohoo:

I officially paid off our trip mid week last week....THAT was a good feeling! It makes it feel that much more real, you know? So...you know what that means, right? Mickey mail should be coming soon, right?!!!:wizard: I can't wait!!

Last night we had a little Disney party....nothing big...just picnic dinner and we watched "Dumbo"...the boys just love that movie. Ethan and Lucas even ran upstairs to get their "Dumbo's" to play with while we watched, poor Cole felt left out. I guess we'll need to get him one, right?! :) So my plan is to watch a Disney movie every weekend (which we do normally, if I'm honest...) with the kids, have a little party just to get into the spirit of things! It's fun!!:cloud9:

So day two plans, you ask? And away we go!!!!!!!!

Day 2: Todd and Kristen's 10 year wedding anniversary!:bride: We are not suppose to be getting each other anything, but I feel like I need to get something to acknowledge it, you know? Any suggestions? Maybe have something sent to the room or something? Any input is appreciated here,I think guys are hard to get things for for occasions like this.

Anyways...that was OT, sorry! :rotfl:

This will be our 1st park day!:cheer2: And where will we go?! MK, of course! but not before we join Mickey and friends, over at Chef Mickey's for breakfast! We have 8:35 a.m. ressies this morning, we thought it would be a fun way for the kids to see all of our favs before heading to MK for the day. MK is open from 9-7 p.m. I will admit, I'm a little upset we won't make it for opening ceremonies, but maybe (hopefully) later in the week, the kids have never seen it.

Our normal routine is to start in Fantasyland and at IASW, many of you know, it's one of favs, because of the tradition my Mom started when we woudl go. Unfortunately, it's scheduled to be closed for rehab while we're there...so I'm thrown off (and yes, a little sad!).:sad1: Not sure exactly what our plan of attack it in the park, we need to come up with our schedule and soon! We plan to just have a snacky lunch and a counter service dinner, as they day comes, we'll roll with it.

We have learned in the past that sit down lunches work best with our party....since we're on the parks all day long, it gives us the chance to get off our feet, reapply sunscreen, change diapers, potty break and regroup to what the afternoon holds, so you will notice a lot of my sit downs are inthe afternoon and we eat our counter service meals at night when everyone is tired.

Okay....day 3 plans up, soon! Stay tuned!!:flower3:

Hooray for Chef Mickey's!!!! Really hope we get to meet up once you're done eating and we're heading into the restaurant. That would be awesome!

I too am very bummed that IASW is going to be closed when we're there. It's such a classic. Maybe try Peter Pan first instead?

I know, we need to work on this! Your ressie is at 10, right? Are you heading to MK afterwards that day? I can't remember, sorry!

Peter Pan is a good idea!!! thank you! :)

Sounds like a great plan!!! Love reading other ideas, regarding day to day plans...a great way to learn something new! I have to insert my two cents here about the AM show at MK...because we both know that that is my most favorite "tradition"...to start the week off with...that, and a good cry...tears of joy, that is.:cloud9: When you get to the entrance of MK to wait for it to open...everyone goes to the gates at each side. We always go right to the middle and sit on the wall. That way, when the show starts we have front row seats...and in turn, AMAZING pics!!! All the characters come in on the train and sing and dance right in front of you! If you stand in line, at the gates, it can be hard to see and to me the AM, is a must see! OK...I want to be there RIGHT NOW!!!

Can't wait for day #3 details...no rush, though...no pressure! :rotfl:

Hi Kristen!! Just saw that you started a PTR!! :goodvibes
Wow it's right around the corner!! :woohoo:
I haven't arrived that late at night but I would want to get my luggage ahead of time and not rely on ME...never had a problem but I would be nervous  Sending your husband off to get everything is a great idea and yes they do have the carts there :)
Perfect first day of going to DTD...you can have a margarita, the kids can look at Legos :rolleyes1

Tracy

Sounds sooo magical!!:wizard: I'm going to HAVE TO plan for this, for sure!:thumbsup2 SO want to be there right now, too!!!

Hi Tracy!

SO glad you found me!! I'm with you, I think (especially with the kids...) I will need our luggage with us, I think. Otherwise I'd have to pack swimsuits, pj's, change of clothes, just in case in our carry on's and with 5 of us, that will be a lot. It will be a late night for sure, but hopefully we can get some RnR the next day since we have no real plans. BUT...I do like how you think girlfriend....Margaritas and legos!:thumbsup2

I have no idea how I missed that you started this, but I'm glad I found it! :goodvibes I'm so bummed we miss each other by just a couple weeks though! I'm missing quite a few DISers just by days it seems....thankfully there are a few I DO get to meet too!

but I will admit, I'm a little worried about having to get our own luggage that night with very tired kids and try to get ourselves to ME, since ME luggage service closes at 11, we just miss it. :headache: Anyone have to do this before?

Yep! It's pretty simple. Just grab your luggage and then head to ME, they will put all your suitcases under the bus. When you get to your resort you can either drag your suitcases yourself or have Bell Services bring them to your room. I liked LL's suggestion too of getting the cart, since ME is on the bottom level and baggage claim is in the "middle" level, this makes a ton of sense - really good idea!!

Your Day 1 plans look so relaxing and enjoyable! A great way to start the trip. :thumbsup2

Hey guys!
OT....does anyone know how to add the "table of contents" in my 1st page? Know what I mean? Any help is appreciated!! THANK YOU!! :goodvibes

I saw someone else answered this, but in case you still aren't sure, let me know and I can help too.

Congrats on being PAID IN FULL! That always feels soooooo good! :yay: I think a little Dumbo for Cole would be so sweet! Henry hasn't seen that movie yet, and Netflix for some reason doesn't have it available? So weird. Guess it should go on the Birthday list!

Congratulations on 10 years!!!! :lovestruc What a wonderful way to celebrate it too!

I'm super bummed about IASW as well, thankfully Henry can't really remember it yet -so he doesn't know what he's missing. :rolleyes1 Have you ever missed it on a trip? :sad2:

We have learned in the past that sit down lunches work best with our party....since we're on the parks all day long, it gives us the chance to get off our feet, reapply sunscreen, change diapers, potty break and regroup to what the afternoon holds, so you will notice a lot of my sit downs are inthe afternoon and we eat our counter service meals at night when everyone is tired.

This is a GREAT plan. So, so good. I am gonna steal it for future trips I think. Henry is always WAY better behaved at lunch (and eats better too!) than at dinner. You are a smart Momma!!!

Hey Meghan,
Kinda getting it, but how do I do past updates? I can't figure that out! Sorry to be a pain!!! but thank you!! :)

There is a post in the Technical Support Thread section that explains how to post the page links.
It may help you.:)

Day 3 is our 1st day at Epcot! We will start the day with a snack breakfast at the food court at POR and pack a couple of snacks for our bag, since we have a big lunch planned at Le Cellier this day at 12 noon. YAY! That was our FAVORITE meal last trip, we can't wait to do it again this trip, I was so excited to get the ressie and at the time we wanted, too!

So when we get to the park, we'll send Adam and Todd running for FP's for either Soarin' or Test Track, since no one but me, has rode on it before. What does everyone think will go 1st? Or do we get FP's for one and go to the other and wait? Anywho, when the guys run for FP's Tracey and I will go to the Character Spot, we loved this last time, the characters were so much fun and gave us so much attention!:thumbsup2

We'll probably hit Nemo, never done Turtle talk with Crush, so that seems like something we should check out, for sure. From there, we'll visit Figment, have lunch and do some of the World Showcase afterwards. Last time we had the kids do the Kidcot stations, they loved them, maybe we'll do them again? Or...i was thinking of checking out the Kim Possible? Has anyone done this before? thoughts? Will the boys like it as much as the girls? Or are they still too young? Any input is appreciated there!

Thanks guys!!:goodvibes

Btw....noticed lots of views, if you're lurking, please come out and say hello! :) Thanks for reading everyone!!

I am so excited that you started a PTR! I kept checking your last TR and then realized that it was closed! I'm looking forward to hearing all your plans and seeing if we will be at any of the same parks on the same days. We are staying at POR too, so maybe we will run into each other at the pool or the food court! :goodvibes

You guys are making me homesick for Plymouth with all your talk of walking on the waterfront!! My mom grew up there, so all of our childhood trips to visit my grandparents included going to the Mayflower and the Jenney Grist Mill... I just love it there! I love all the little shops and eating at the the Lobster Hut. :cloud9:

We too are arriving late at night and just missing the ME cut-off. Actually, I think our flight times have changed and we will actually get in 5 or 10 min before the cut-off, but I still think we will pick our bags up ourselves. I don't want to wait several hours in the morning to get our luggage. The luggage cart is a great idea!

Kristen, if I've got this right...your first park day is 9/23? MK has morning EMH on that day. We are planning to go to MK on this day also. For some reason I am having a brain cramp...is there a rope drop ceremony on EMH mornings? If so, you could see that, then walk over to the Contemporary for your Chef Mickey's ADR. Best of both worlds.

Are all the kids old enough/tall enough/want to ride both Soarin' and Test Track? If not, you might be able to get FPs to both-some tickets get the FP for Soarin', the others Test Track and take advantage of the max number of people you can put through on a Child Swap (I think it's 4?)! Joe and I do this all the time so we can stack those FPs!

Crush is such a fun show, I'm sure everyone will love it!

I think the kiddos will LOVE KP. It seems to be cool for all ages and both boys and girls since the phones make statues and things in the WS do some crazy stuff! They might need some help figuring out the clues, but that makes it fun for the adults too. ;) I've read on numerous reports that it's best to get 2 OR MORE phones when there is a group of children - all doing the same mission (you have to request that) - so their isn't any meltdowns on who is holding the phone, etc.
