My mom wanted a Go Pro and I did some research. We ended up with the Hero3+ Silver. There are basically 3 tiers, the White, the Silver and the Black.
White only shoots in 1080p 30 FPS and 5 MP still. $199
Silver has 1080p 60 FPS and 10 MP still. - $299
Black is the same as silver but with 4K. -$399
There are some other features, but they are largely unimportant.
I found 4K unnecessary as of now, but I wanted the full 60 FPS, so we went with the Silver. Believe me, video looks GREAT! IT is NOT a great still camera, but you can use the free editing software to pull stills from your videos (and correct the fisheye look if you use the wide field of view). I will recommend getting the LCD backpack, which I do not have yet, but it will make things tons easier than using just the app to see what the camera sees.
I have seen people wearing the chest harness at WDW, and it seems like a great way to get ride videos. I am gonna take it to DL with me this next time.
Remember, you need to buy an SD card too as there is no onboard storage (get a big one!)
