Very late, but I'm here! Loving your report so far. Gonna finish up and then head over to your dining report

The pic above =

What? What is this marvel that I need to have?
So we got to the park, cleared bag check, and made our way through the turnstiles, we made a sharp left and headed over to the ECV/Scooter rentals. Why? After the pain of the last two days, Debby decided to try giving a scooter a try today. Hooray! (This made me a very happy girl!) So we got her all saddled up, and off we went!
And yep, I'm rockin' that tiara for my royal conference with the princesses, of course!![]()
SHE DID!!! And she loved it!!!She did have to close her eyes at parts, but not for too long. I was soooooo proud of her!
I will say it was craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy busy. Is it always like this? I wish I had taken a photo, it would have been a perfect opportunity to show just how ridiculously crowded the parks were while we were there. We had to stalk down a table, and came very close to just having to eat standing up. I finally spotted one outside, and literally had to bellow across the noisy interior of the restaurant to get Mark & Debby's attention (which I don't think they loved, but I think they were thankful to get to sit and enjoy lunch).
Reach into my bag for my portable battery charger... And the pocket was empty. And that's when it dawned on me that it was sitting on the nightstand in my hotel room. DOH!![]()
But I did get my pearl, and it was soooooo... unremarkable.Seriously. Average color, average size. lol. I've done it twice now, and both times got boring pearls. Oh well! I had fun, and it looks cute in the rose-shaped pearl cage that I brought. I wear it every day now (which in this close-up photo I just took today, I can see that it needs to be cleaned up, it's looking bad!):
I reach the round courtyard thingy between the Lion King and Little Mermaid sections, and I look off in the distance, exiting the Little Mermaid area, and I see a young couple pushing a baby stroller. I stop. I squint. I peer.
Then the guy raises both arms, flailing them at me. IT WAS BRUCE AND AMIE!
Next we headed over to Toy Story Midway Mania, as I was hoping this late into the evening and Extra Magic Hours was happening now, that the wait would have died down... No such luck. It was at an hour or so.
And besides... By this point, I could already see a glow in the sky that was calling to me. That's right, I was headed for the Osborne Lights! Soooo pretttttty! I was really excited, but my companions didn't seem too interested in them. I felt like I was dragging them through, so I didn't stay long. Just enough to snap a few pics...
Then I called Walker Mobility and spoke with a nice girl who, when I described what happened, asked me "Where you going up a hill or ramp when it happened?" Uhhhhhh... yeahhhhhh.... "Oh, that's easy to fix! You just tripped the breaker. Here's what you do..." She directed me to a little white button on the outside of the left battery. I pushed it back into a locked position, put the key back in... and all was right in the world once more! Hooray! (As it turns out, this breaker tripping problem would continue to occur many many times throughout the week, so I was very glad to know how to fix it!)
I got both! I HAD to! I'm so glad that I did, too. IT WAS DELICIOUS.
Well, doing so lead me to making a purchase that I never in a million years ever dreamed I would ever ever make...
This update is about to get VERY photo-heavy. You've been warned!
They eventually did, and we headed for the bus stops and were off to Downtown Disney! Ooops, I mean Disney Springs.![]()
And of course, drinks were ordered. Mark had a beer, Debby had a root beer, and I had a cottontini...
At the end of the meal, the manager surprised us with the Chocolate Extinction dessert pictured above. Then when it came time to do the bill, the manager used the $50 that was on mine and Mark's Landry's Club cards, and comped the remaining amount, even the drinks. So I didn't even need to touch my gift card I'd brought. Score!![]()
I figured 4 days, that's $50 a day. Right? Because Disney math.![]()
So I didn't even need to touch my gift card I'd brought. Score!![]()
I did pop into Basin while Mark and Debby sat and rest a bit, and sniffed a few bath bombs while missing the huge garden bathtub I used to have in my old place years ago... I have a teeny tiny tub nowadays in my apartment, and baths are out of the question... My 6'0" frame just feels like it's sitting in a puddle! I did buy a bottle of their Pink Sands lotion, though. Mmmm. I loooove that stuff, I can't get enough of it!
I just LOVE this print and how it represent the four Walt Disney World theme parks and those special Disney treats!!!
and I had a cottontini...

I have friends like this! I've never been like that at all. Anything over $30 is too much to pay for purse for me... usually. That should tell you how badly I wanted this Disney purse!Welcome to the Dooney purse club! I am a purse addict and I routinely drop that kind of money on bags and at the same time give my mom a heart attack. It is one of my many vices.![]()
I think they make both of those in the same pattern!Girl, treat yo'self. If it still makes you giggle a month after you got it it was worth it! I was eyeing the HM Dooney but it just isn't practical for me, I either need a giant schlep-a-laptop-bag or a tiny chase-kid-on-playground-while-hands-free cross body bag. The one you got is so fun though!
I'm 35 and I haven't outgrown it!I wish I could have squeezed a trip to AoA just to take my son around the Cars section. Hopefully next trip he won't have completely outgrown it!
Yes, this one is called Disneyana! Maybe just an updated version?Ooohh Billie, once you join the Disney D&B club, you never go backLol but seriously I am LOVING that purse! I got my first Disney Dooney in 2014 and it's somewhat similar to yours. I want to say it was called Disneyana?? It had the 4 icons along with a bunch of the rides like Space and Jungle Cruise, but also had the names of all the lands in the MK. Then about 5 months ago DH surprised me with the Runway Princess Dooney, which I'd been wanting forever but was sold out in the parks on our first 2 trips last year and also online for awhile. I get so many compliments on it, but the best thing is going into a Disney Store with it. The CM's there gush over it and then I get to talk Disney with them until I decide to leave!!!! Enjoy

Oh, I sooooooo miss my big bathtub! When I had to find a new place in 2011, it was one of those unexpected "You have 3 weeks to find a place and be out" type of things, so I could only be so picky. A big tub fell in line in priority far behind things like "Available for move-in, like, NOW" and being withing my budget but also still in a good neighborhood. While I'm in no rush to move, I do cross my fingers and hope that my next home has a nice big tub for me, though!Out of everything, the thing I'm going to remark on is the bathtub issueGIRL. Lack of a good bathtub is a deal breaker for me. I would legitimately not buy a house due to lack of a bathtub. Baths are massive, serious business to me. Lol! I couldn't manage my fibromyalgia without at least one bath per day, so you're AWESOME for surviving without hot bath therapy! PS Basin is my favorite and my husband gives me a limit these days when I go in there...it's bad
![]()
Thanks! I love it!Loving the TR! And totally jealous of that Dooney -- that's adorable.
Doh! Why didn't I think of that!Tambu Lounge is open then...it's right next to 'Ohana!!! There's rum-a-plenty there, girl!
My pleasure! You can drink with me anytime, girl!Oh yes, please. I will take one. So nice of you to offer.![]()
God, I hope it doesn't become an addiction... The last thing I need is another expensive hobby! And congrats on your Dooney! Welcome to the addiction!
Girl, I very nearly didn't agree to it for myself. That purse I want it. There is no way my husband will agree to a $200 purse though. It is so pretty.
Oh, good! I'm so glad to hear it!We had great service at TRex this evening as well. The manger was amazing about a fairly minor inconvience that happened while we were there.
Thanks! That is an adorable D&B bag!
They really did take insanely good care of us!Your meals looked great and how lovely they went above and beyond at T Rex.
Oh, it so does! I just love it!Loving your bag and how wonderful it still brings you so much joy![]()
Thank you for enabling me!Love your new purse. Money well spent if you ask me. Especially since you're enjoying it so much. You deserve it girl!
Yeah, it was pretty dicey for a while there, I was close to losing it.Glad the scooter issue was able to be resolved. I would have totally had a meltdown too over such an incident. Good thing it was easily fixable and that there was a caring CM who noticed and tried to offer a solution.
I did the same! I decided to forgo the discounts because I wanted to stay at AoA so badly. I questioned that choice all through the year, but I'm ultimately happy that I stayed there! It was lovely!Nice to see some more resort pics! They've gotten me more excited for my own trip. I'm glad I decided not to switch when the discounts came out. I was contemplating but ultimately decided that I wasn't willing to give it up. Also my schedule would not allow me time to explore if I wasn't already staying there.
It was a really great experience!Love the theming at T-Rex. And what a lovely manager.
You must, you MUST! You'll love it!Now that Samoan looks delicious! I will probably have to fit that into my list of meals somehow. Being that we're at the Poly it is right there after all...LOL.
I completely agree! I felt very balanced after I ate them both!I think Samoan and Tonga toast is a perfectly balanced diet...of sweet and savory, that is!![]()
Oooh, is it the new The Force Awakens print? I looked at that one this morning, but I'm holding out hope for one that's just covered in BB-8.Ooooh what a nice bag!! I don't personally own any Disney Dooneys but I've always admired them. I will be getting my first Dooney on the cruise - I order a Star Wars print. Well hopefully I'll get it since it's part of a lottery so I may not even get the bag. I may have to just buy myself another bag instead and yours would be my next choice!![]()
A girl can be a princess even in the desert and surrounded by talking cars, right?Wow love the pics of the AoA...brings back memories of last May
What a cute picture of you in the Cars section!! And you wore your tiara too!
You should! It's loud, but delicious!!T-Rex looks like fun! I've not eaten there yet...one day I will!
Hooray!Very late, but I'm here! Loving your report so far. Gonna finish up and then head over to your dining report![]()
Haha, I have many many friends who share your fandom! The pic above =!! I'm a HUGE Doctor Who nerd/obsessed fan and I most definitely will be hitting up that Epcot Store
![]()
That MUST be what that crazy face was about.Omg, the relief of scooter crisis solved!
That's exactly what it is!I'm so glad you did - a piece of Disney happiness to be with you at home!
Mine too!All Princesses love naps. Aurora is my nap hero!
Normally I claim that I'm not pale and pasty, I'm "fair." But then I saw my legs in this photo. You know, I think there might be enough of us to make pale and pasty a new trend! Really cute picture though - Tiara!
They most certainly did!Glad that they provided the great service that Disney is known for.
I saw these on Disney Store website this morning... SO CUTE! And you're always welcome to post stuff like this on my thread, I don't mind one bit!LOL! It came out in early 2015 I believe! It's black, and has "cameo" type portraits of Cinderella, Ariel, Snow White, Aurora and Rapunzel. The inside is a gorgeous hot pink. I'll try to post pic here soon if Billie doesn't mind but as of now they're on the Disney Store site if you want to take a look! Whenever they come in stock they sell out fast, though...........![]()
It warms my heart to know you're sacrificing precious sleep in order to get caught up on my TR, Sarah.Okay, so it's past my bedtime and I should probably be sleeping and not on the DIS, but before I head to bed I'm making an attempt to catch up here...
Yes, it was! Shame that it was just for the one day, though.Yay! It's always nice when someone decides to get something to help their park touring!
They were lovely!Yay!! Princesses!!!
The probably did but it was so loud in there, I probably missed it.Of course you wore your tiara. How could you not?
I hope some of the princesses commented on your crown!
YES! Me too! Days later, I was still telling her how proud I was of her!Yay! I'm so glad Aunt Debby enjoyed and was able to find a way to make Soarin' work for her!
It was nuts! At least our lunch was delicious... That made up for the wait a little bit!Craziness! I don't know why it would be so busy ... but then again, I've never been there, so for all I know it's always like this. But still ... craziness.
Normally I'm usually okay, and even if I'm away from home, I've got my charger in my car. But in the theme parks, that portable charger is a lifesaver!!!Uh-Oh. I hate when that happens. (I do it a lot at home ... and of course, since I'm pretty much always on my phone, that's a problem)
Thank you! I'm rather fond of it, myself! It may not be a super fancy pearl, but I think it looks beautiful in the cage!!!
Yes, I was THRILLED to run in to them! Solved on worry that was on my mind!OMG YAY!!!! So awesome that you got to see your friends!
Sadly, I didn't take too many pics! If you REALLY want to live vicariously, look up videos of them on YouTube... They're AWESOME!Yay, lights! Even if you didn't get to stick around for so long, it's awesome that you got a chance to see them!
I'm still super sad that I missed them by a day. Literally, a day. So I guess I'll have to live vicariously through your pictures.
I agree. And their phone customer service reps were consistently AWESOME. However, I can't say much for their delivery guys. Nice, but just kinda like "Uhh. Here ya go. Bye." No effort put in to showing us how to use it or telling us things like that we should know.Okay, so ... on the one hand, I'm glad that they knew exactly what was wrong and it was an easy fix. On the other hand ... I feel like if it's such a common problem they should maybe warn you about it? Or, you know, do something to make sure it doesn't happen?
Thank you for enabling me!YAY!!!! ALL THE FOODS!!! I'm so excited that you got both and they were both delicious!
Thanks! The only way I would like the placement better is if it had all 4 park icons on the front. Oh well!Yay Dooney bag! I'm still debating pulling the trigger on one. I almost got the marathon weekend one, but decided against it in the end. They're just so darn pretty!! And you got a really good placement!
Aww, yay! I'm glad you like them! There's more to come, on another day I did photos of the Finding Nemo section.Yay! I love Art of Animation pictures! They're all so beautiful! Especially the one of you and Lightning!
To this day, I still occasionally slip and say "MGM" instead of Hollywood Studios.I must have done that about a million times this trip. Beth kept yelling at me. Downtown Disney just makes more sense!
That's what I'm saying!!!Not sure why anyone got anything other than the cottontini. It's a martini with cotton candy. Why do they even offer other options?
Me too! I was overwhelm by how well they took care of us!Yay!! I love when they do something really nice for you like that!
Wellllll, I had planned on maybe working on another one tomorrow, but no promises.Okay. I'm all caught up. For now. Let's try not to put up any updates in the net few days, k?
Nope, this was my first (and last) time renting from them!Ah, sorry about the drama with your ECV. Was this your first time renting from Walker? Or did you use them before?
Sooo goooood!!!Yum, Kona breakfast looks amazing still!
Thanks! They had the "Sketch" one that you have, too. But the park icons and especially the turkey legs on this Disneyana pattern just won me over.Welcome to the D&B club! I have to say...yours is AMAZING! Love it so much and it's worth every penny!
Doesn't it, though? Hopefully I'll be doing an early afternoon of this before our lunch date in October!A nap and a fruity drink by the pool sound like the perfect way to spend an afternoon!
They really went above and beyond!I'm glad that TRex dinner was great! And it sounds like great customer service!!
Yeah, I'll know now not to rent from them again.Holy cow!!! What a stroller headache. I'm glad they were able to help you fix it over the phone. And now you'll know for the next trip.
![]()
I loooove Vera bags! If I ever lose enough weight so that I can actually wear her crossbody bags ACROSS my body, I'll likely buy one finally!I do love the D&B but this is the purse I'm longing for. Of course, I fall in love with things AFTER they are discontinued.
![]()
Yes, I thought so too! If they had a pink version, I would have bought one for myself!Oooh, love it! I like that it's so subtly Disney.
In theory, I had it for another trip. Details in a future post.Sweet!! So that means you have it for another trip? That was really nice of the manager to do all of that for you guys.
I miss that "me time!" Maybe I'll buy a bath bomb in October, and when I get back home I'll book some time in my mom's bathtub one night.Basin is one of the places I want to hit up. We don't have a large bathtub in our house but I still love that "me time" so I'm dying to get a couple of the bath bombs.
Do you know how many women wish they had a man who spoiled them so? Count your blessings!I googled - it is super cute! If I do see it in person, I will be very careful not to let DH see it. He's such a sucker, the minute I say I like anything he's bought it for me. Romantic, but the credit card bills years later are not as romantic, as I have learned!
It really DOES just that, too! That is just the most awesome bag ever!! I love the print too and the way it would bring up happy memories any time you look at it.
I don't know, I've certainly never heard of it elsewhere. It seems simple enough, though. Mix Parrot Bay rum and your choice of fruit juices in a shaker, and pour over cotton candy in a glass. BOOM! Cottontini!I so want this drink. I wonder if there is anywhere else that makes that outside of the WDW? I may have to Google a recipe...
You know, I've never once even thought of trying to order Basin stuff online. I should look and see if they have my lotion!I'm in love with all the stuff from Basin...I am so tempted to order some more online. I love the Almond Scent too...
I can never keep up with other's threads like I should, I totally understand! I'm glad you're still with me!I SO love reading your updates. I wish I had time to comment more, but lately, I have to make fly bys and keep yearning for the day I can camp on here as long as I'd like. The food all looked amazing, as did all of your photos of AoA. I can't WAIT to get there and see it all for myself!
God help you all if I start drinking and DISing...I think if you find the recipe, it would be a good tradition to be DISing while sipping cottontini's... Just saying...
Hooray! Hi, Beth! Finally got some time to stop and read your report.
Yeah, it was NUTS. Early December is supposed to be nice and slow and easy and calm at WDW. It was anything but, though! The crowds shocked me on our trip too. I was surprised it had always had been slower.
Thank you! I wear it all the time!I love your pearl setting.
Yay! See you there!Sounds like a great trip so far. Now off to read your dinning report.
I think if you find the recipe, it would be a good tradition to be DISing while sipping cottontini's... Just saying...
What is a cottontini?I had a cottontini.
That was really nice of them to comp the meal. It's a good thing you noticed the mushrooms. Then when it came time to do the bill, the manager used the $50 that was on mine and Mark's Landry's Club cards, and comped the remaining amount, even the drinks. So I didn't even need to touch my gift card I'd brought. Score!![]()
What is a cottontini?.
I can't believe all of the scooter issues you're having this trip. I'm guessing you'll forgo the pink next time and go back to the other company?????I start to panic that we were going to miss our ADR all because of my stupid scooter and my stupid broken body, and really let myself get worked up.Within a few minutes, a VERY kind CM saw we were having trouble, and came down to ask if she could help. She suggested just pushing it the rest of the way up the platform then figuring out what to do next, so that's what we did.
So glad you got to try both. Think we'll have to follow suit on our next visit so I can finally try the toast.I got both! I HAD to! I'm so glad that I did, too. IT WAS DELICIOUS. Mark & Debby even agreed that the Samoan was excellent. I ate every bite, and about half of the Tonga Toast. OINK OINK!
You totally should have hit up the Tambu Lounge instead. Can't beat drinking and shopping ; )I, on the other hand, decided to linger and do some shopping! (Well, originally the plan was day drinking, but then I discovered that Trader Sam's doesn't open until 4pm. So no rum for Billie. BOOOOO!)
First, love, love, love this. But second, be careful your first designer bag is a really just a gateway drug.I dropped $200 bucks on a PURSE. On a freakin' PURSE. Me, the girl who has never owned or even wanted to own a designer handbag in her life! But I hadn't spend hardly anything on myself so far in the trip and we were already on Day 4... I figured 4 days, that's $50 a day. Right? Because Disney math.
That a girl!!!!!!!!!! Now this really is vacation. After all my photo-taking there was still time to kill, so I headed back up to the main building, and found an outlet just outside of the doors. I got my ECV all plugged up to charge, and headed off for some relaxation. I made my way over to the Drop-Off Bar, and ordered me a fruity drink! Then headed over to the Big Blue Pool, found a table, put up my feet, and chilled. Vacation!
![]()
You can just stick with me and continue to call it DTD. I refuse to learn new names for anything, just ask MGM : )They eventually did, and we headed for the bus stops and were off to Downtown Disney! Ooops, I mean Disney Springs.![]()
So glad you found the mushroom before your aunt ate it. Kudos to Landrys for handling the situation so well.At the end of the meal, the manager surprised us with the Chocolate Extinction dessert pictured above. Then when it came time to do the bill, the manager used the $50 that was on mine and Mark's Landry's Club cards, and comped the remaining amount, even the drinks. So I didn't even need to touch my gift card I'd brought. Score!
And this is why I avoid it like the plague. In our last six trips, we've been one time and it was way too chaotic for me.And let me tell ya'll, Disney Springs was a mob scene everywhere you looked, SO CROWDED! On a Monday in early December! Craziness!
I loooove Vera bags! If I ever lose enough weight so that I can actually wear her crossbody bags ACROSS my body, I'll likely buy one finally!
Also... THIS: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Disney-Park...402278?hash=item463aee3c66:g:gBQAAOSwpDdVWP4m
I find discontinued Vera bags on ebay ALL THE TIME.![]()
