My six year old DD told me that they were asked what they did over summer at school. She told me she said she went to WDW and the teacher asked where she stayed at and she told her Holiday Inn Nikki Bird. (This is where we stayed our first and last nights.) I asked her why she didn't say Beach Club Villas instead and she said Nikki Bird was cooler?!?

OK... I give up!

Out of the mouths of babes!

It's a good thing you bought and stay where you want to be. I've noticed that sometimes if you really want a child to say something, they say just the opposite.

Shan,

There's a story that used to be in the Unofficial Guide; basically, it said that, for many younger children, it's the hotel pool that they remember more than any of the parks, attractions, shows or meals.

A year after my sister went thru a very messy divorce, we took her three sons to WDW. All the 9 yo wanted to do was swim and play video games, the 15 yo spent more time grooming in front of the mirror and the 11 yo just wanted to hang out. We had a great time, and they did too, but we won't take them again.

But... lets' compare Nikki Bird's pool to SAB! :p

I just can't figure this one out! :rotfl:

My two year olds favorite attraction at Disney--the resort buses!!!!

He was so funny when we would ride at night in a standing room only bus. Everyone was tired and possibly grumpy. He would say "WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" "THIS IS GREAT!!" and so on the whole trip.

Maybe since it was the first and last days, this is what she remembers?

Then again, maybe trying to understand the mind of a 6YO is a losing battle....

You didn't let her read that "My BCV Disaster" thread, did you?

Shan, Sounds just like something one of my kids would say!

My kids love the bus ride too. I think it has something to do with being in a moving vehicle with no seat belt, and whipping around those corners!:teeth: They love the boat and monorail too.

My two DS' (16 + 12) think a WDW trip is not complete without at least one ride on the Monorail and they will ride the Tomorrowland Transit Authority until we make them get off.

was from my 4yo niece who went this past March. When asked by her dad about 4 days into the trip what her favorite ride had been so far, she answered most definitely the automatic toilets in the park rest rooms!!

So don't despair Shan!

This is sooooo true. After our trip to WDW in 2002 and staying at OKW and then at Marriott's Horizons our boys said they like Horizons better....all because of the pirate ship pool.

Shan, I missed your trip resport (assuming you did one). How was BCV? Can you tell me if you did post a report? We are getting ready to make reservations for next summer and I think we will try BCV. I think the kids will love the pool and it will be cool to be so close to Boardwalk. We have only stayed 1 time before, for 3 nights, so I loved it but the kids barely remember it! Please share!

Just get a small mirror and comb, a pail of water and all go and hang out at the park. :jester:

We just got back from the BCV, but stayed at the Travelodge Thurs and Friday(during Charley). The first floor of the Travelodge flooded, we had no electricity, therefore no AC, no elevators, no TV. And yet, my DS (5) keeps talking about going back to the Travelodge because of the cool arcade. He wants his Gramma to take him there on their trip in October....go figure!
