Gnomies Gone Wild

I'm going to give props to Chelsea for erasing some of the messages. At least there is some forethought! ;) Next time she'll know better...

Snow not turning out to be much here!

Count me as another one who'd like to fast forward a bit. I'm not liking where I am at all - not the weather, not the season, not the job, nothing!!

LL & CP - someday I have to check out all your book recommendations! I am filing them away.

She knew she was going to get busted when Kaitlyn's phone was confiscated. At the least, she had to have known that her teachers would mention it to me.

Snow not turning out to be much here!

That's a good thing, right? ;)

I am pretty much right there with you about everything -- at least we have a new Samantha Brown show tonight.

Anytime you want a list, let us know! :goodvibes

No FF until June allowed!!!! I have waited too long for this trip!

CP, I thought you would appreciate the conversation on FB between 2 of my cousins today!

Cuz #1: Do they have anger management for teenagers? Or is it simply throw them headfirst into the nearest snowbank until they cool off?

Cuz #2: The snowbank is the least expensive alternative.

Cuz #1: The problem is having enough strength to toss them!

Cuz #2: The trick is to first toss into that snowbank their cell phone, mp3 player, laptop or other "can't live without" device. Then when they bend over to retrieve the item put your foot on their butt and push. They go head first into the snowbank and you don't have to do any lifting :)

Sorry, Katie. Didn't mean to FF over your trip! :goodvibes Sounds like your cousins have some good parenting strategies!

CP- not defending Chelsea but having your mom as a teacher at your school sometimes has to stink. And I'm sure other times it's awesome. And it goes without saying that she is VERY lucky to have you as her Mom. :goodvibes How did your conversation with her go?

Lack of snow ok. Feeling a bit foolish for staying home but think I just happen to be north of the "line." Heard that south of me (including the location of my office) is getting slammed. Pondering ways to parlay this into a two day event... :rolleyes1

Looking forward to the new Samantha Brown show tonight! :yay:

Let's hope she doesn't get any better at being sneaky.

Okay, I will still read Shanghai Girls -- I really want to.

No, after you told me how horrible it was, I stopped reading it and took it right back to the library. Not only did you spare me the pain of that book, you also spared my book club. It was one of the suggestions my SIL brought to our last meeting, and I quickly explained that we did not want to read it, no way no how!
Here's hoping she won't! I could never lie when I was younger, I'd start to cry. :rotfl2:

Yes, I think you will like Shanghai Girls. I haven't read any of her other books but I might.

Oh, I am so glad you spared your book club. It really was awful and it just didn't make sense that is the most annoying thing!

I would love to fast forward to August.

That is the greatest conversation EVER!

I'm home from work and I don't even think there is an inch of snow on the ground. Oy to the Vey. SO much for the super snow storm we were supposed to get.

Same here. Not even half an inch but the weather people are still calling it THE nor'easter of the season! :rotfl2: To be fair I think I just happened to be north of "the line."

Any of you guys looking for snow are more than welcome to come on up here! We got majorly dumped on last night! But I spent the day in bed with a super-migrane so I didn't deal with any of it...

Jen - sorry to hear Prince Phillip isn't feeling so hot. Hope he feels better soon!

CP - That's too bad about Chelsea. Hopefully she comes up with a good reason for her behaviour! Kids can be so sneaky! I hope she learns her lesson easily for you! But at least you'll be able to see what she wrote!

LL - sorry about the work troubles, I hope you have a better day tomorrow. Believe me I understand where you're coming from. I've been so stressed since my preformance review that I have been getting stress-migraines...I know something good will work out for you

Katie - I'm with you on the no FF! I still can't believe we miss each other by a day! But I'm sure you'll have an amazing time! Do you have any special plans?

C and LL...I can tell you why you have no snow..... cause it ALL fell HERE! we were to get 8-12 inches total by tomarrow morning. Right now we are at approx 18 inches with another 6 or so expected tonite.

you think I'm over winter???? OH YEAH!!! LOL!! We are currently pleading for Vancouver to come truck some away since they need it anyway:rolleyes1

My drive home from work was fun though...once I got onto the back roads into Colver. The road was plowed one lane only...with the snow up past my car windows.... It was like being in a bobsled!!:yay: I could drive as fast as I wanted and all I could do if I lost control was ping ping off the sides and stay on the road LOL!!

LL... what is the name of the books in this Carnation Series?? I know you have mentioned it before...but I wasn't reading much for a while...although I amreading more now since i got my nook.

Jen...I saw about PP's liver issues on FB... I hope that that and his other illness clears up soon!

Katie... Can we FFwd to May 1st?? I can live with that:rolleyes:

I forget who posted the FB conversation.... but it was :rotfl2::rotfl::rotfl2::rotfl: LOVE IT!! and so so true!

CP... I hope things go ok with Chelsea:hug: My kids were very unhapppy a couple weeks ago when I did a random phone check.... just to make sure they weren't sending anything inappropriate... which they weren't...thank goodness! But I couldn't check all Ellies texts anyway. I just got our bill for January. She had total of 10,629 texts forthe month:scared1: Thats over 350 a day! How is that even possible:confused3

Stace.... maybe vancouver can come get your snow.... you are closer:rolleyes1

Hey P! My parents are right with you on the snow count, they broke the all time record for most snow ever today, something like 67 inches. Today they got another 19 inches on top of the 30 inches they had got on saturday. My parents were able to make it back monday morning, but had to park my mom's car at the fire station and have them take them back to their house. And on top of it, my dad's fire station partially burned down today:
http://wjz.com/local/fire.firehouse.dundalk.2.1483621.html

They were only able to get one of the engine's out. The National Guard Humvee, their brand new engine, both medics and their brush truck is gone. It's so sad, their kitchen and offices/beds are ok, my dad's gear is toasted, but saveable...I grew up in that station though...it was probably the worst day to have it happen

I'm so sorry I've been so behind lately. I have a paper and a quiz next week for school, my job is tiring me out because they're in the process of firing somebody (phasing them out) and we're picking up the slack from it and I miss my parents. And my grandmother fell on my birthday on sunday and broke her leg and they had to put a rod and screws in it. Oy...what a week so far.:headache:

Jess thats terrible about your Dad's station!! I read the article, but it didn't say much:confused3 Is it a city station or is it volunteer??? Tom was asking. Do they have any idea as to the cause??

P

Good morning girls!

I'm hoping for better days for all of you! How about we FF to April so Stacy gets to go on her trip too! And yes Stace, I have lots of fun plans. come over to my PTR and check them out!

Yikes P, that is a crapload of snow! I'm so sick of it all. Most winters we get some melting between storms so it doesn't pile up like it has this winter. I dread the spring melt around here, it's going to be awful!

Jess, so sorry about the fire, that's got to be hard

Wowzers, sorry to hear about your dad's station Jess that just stinks! And all this snow...man some places up there are getting nailed hard...60-70 inches...that's like living in Alaska but at ONE time that is just WOW!!!

So around 2pm today we should hear about whether we will be closing down tomorrow. Apparently we are due to get 1-3 inches (okay all you Northerns don't laugh at us LOL) of snow tomorrow. I'm not sure if I want a snow day or not :scared1: I know...but tomorrow is a test day and those are the easiest days ever!!!

I didn't mean to FF"d over your vacation Katie...you are more than welcome to pause when the time comes...I would love for it to be August though. We'll be in Austin, new job, new house, hopefully contemplating having a baby, just have to make it there...this whole moving think stinks...anyone want to come down and help I'll pay you LOL!!!

Prince P is doing okay...we have issues with the liver, his medications he is on (almost went the ER due to some side effects he had with Nexium, P...any advice you can give me on that med???) and he is dealing with a sinus infection...but he seems to be in good spirits at this point in time!

Well Gnomies...I hope you have a great V-day you are all my valentines! And if you choose to celebrate Mardi Gras with the Southern Folk...Let the Good Times Roll!!

I understand Jen, you are anxious to get to the next phase in your life and when it feels so close it's hard to be patient! Oh dear that PP isn't feeling well, here's hoping he is better soon!

Aww Thanks Katie!! I'm anxious to hear all about your trip though!!! You are going to have such a great time!

My town averages about 85-90 inches of snow a year...we still have a little ways to go to get there. When we 1st moved here we had 130inches that winter... the big difference with this year is that its all coming at once!

I totally understand the wanting to get your life going! I remember that feeling very well :goodvibes

Jen, Nexium is usually pretty side-effect free...typically nausea/diarrhea and headache are the chief complaints. But that said... it has been known to cause increases in liver function tests and other hepatic function abnormalities, so with PP's other issues, I would be very cautious about using it. You can send me a PM and let me know whats going on....maybe I can be more help that way:hug:

Thanks guys. Station 6 is paid, they run the most calls in Baltimore County, almost 9,000 last year alone! Right now they have them set up temporarily for now, but they're still investigating the cause. It's nuts!

And P...over 10,000 texts..that is just plain ridiculous!:rotfl:

Jess - I'm sorry to hear about your dad's station. I'm glad he's ok.

Katie - I'll try to get over to your PTR on my long weekend!

LL - hope you've had a better day!

Jen - hope your Prince is feeling a little better :)

CP - How are things going with Chelsea?

P - How's Allison doing?

Well completely ignoring the fact that its almost 5am...I just wanted to let my gnomies know...that yes...I will be staying home from work today because it is official we are having an Anticipation of Winter Weather day today....school was canceled due to the sleet and snow expected today!! I find this amusing but I know its for the best, even if I have to postpone my test now! It has been raining all night and temperatures are steadily dropping!!

The one great thing about this though is although I couldn't sleep in...Phillip will get to and hopefully that will help with his sinus infection!!!!

Hi, Gnomies!!!

Well, to catch you up on the Chelsea situation, her daddy grounded her for lying. We kept trying to explain to her that the worst part of the entire fiasco was that she kept lying. If she had just come clean to begin with, her punishment would have been far less.

Enjoy your snow day, Jen! We have a four-day weekend with snow on the way today. I am a little perturbed by that because I am supposed to be headed to the movies with Connor and my nephew to see The Lightning Thief. Today was the only day that will work because Will is leaving with his family for Gatlinburg tomorrow. It figures that snow would intrude on my plans. :headache:
