Hey Everyone!

Well, I think I am officially just going to quit my other job! I just got a notice saying how my pay was going to be cut back for cutting down my availability and they've just been playing so many games with me that it's just not worth it. I'm fed up with that business. I now have a full time job that I really enjoy and work with people who actually seem to care about me. Vent vent vent! The thing is I don't want them to get off so easy! I want them to miss me! I want them to still have to pay me as much as they did before! I didn't know you could cut back pay like that!

I hope everyone else is having a good day! Mine started out better....ugh!

Stace, sounds like you have been busy but that must be nice after being without a job for so long. I can't believe your friend (and her baby) were discharged from the hospital so quickly. Will she be allowed to see pictures of the little girl as she grows? That must be a very difficult decision to make but a wonderful blessing for the adoptive parents. Good for you for being there for her!

Thanks Katie! I don't really know if she wants to see any pictures or anything. Basically, she never really wanted to have children, and even though she could take care of a little one, she has no maternal desire. For her it wasn't even a decision, it was just what was to be done. She was more happy to be able to help someone have a child they would love!

I had a full day of appointments but the happy news is that it's my last day of appointments before surgery!

OOooooh! I'm so excited for you LL! I know it must be very nerve-wracking but I'm sure you'll be just fine! You've worked hard for this!

Stacy - for some silly reason I used to love loss prevention training. And I always took great pleasure in catching the shop lifters. My inner Nancy Drew coming out, perhaps?

I always loved LP training too! I think it is a Nancy Drew/Veronica Mars/Harriet The Spy kinda thing. Also, a long time ago when I worked at Gap Kids and I had a shoplifter that I had caught follow me to the mall food court and slap me across the face and tell me I was a....well, something not very nice - ever since then I have had a definate fondness for it!

I'm so glad you finally found a house!

Jess - Don't stress too much, everything will work out some way!

Hey gang!!!! I FINALLY have a chance to get on the computer to do more than just lurk!!!! YEAH!!!!! As you can imagine....things have been CRAZY busy around here!!! New puppy, new school year, getting to the "month before Disney" point in our planning, etc., etc., etc.!!!!! Needless to say, I have been running around like a headless chicken, trying to take care of all that needs to be done....I hope I haven't missed anything!!!!!
The puppy is great.....BUT he is a HE and not a SHE!!!! The female puppy we applied for was going to take another 3 weeks to arrive due to having to be spayed before we could pick her up. BUT, they offered us a male bichon that could be picked up this past Saturday, and Megan quickly changed her mind and decided that it would be a male instead.....she could NOT wait any longer!!!! SO, on Saturday we picked up our pal Max, and brought him home!!! He and Megan have become the best of buds....he LITERALLY follows her EVERYWHERE, and whimpers for her when she is sleeping or not around. He is a very sweet dog...still working out the kinks with the potty training, but I think he is getting it. It is so nice to have a little warm puppy to snuggle up with at night when you are watching TV!!!!
Megs started Kindergarten on Monday...she has been so excited and never can get back there fast enough!!! She just can't WAIT for the homework to come rolling in!!! When I told her teacher about our trip, she was totally okay with it....said that she wasn't worried about Megs missing too much....said at that point they will still be reviewing things like numbers, letters, colors, and shapes for the kids who have had no schooling yet, and said she knew Megan was well-educated on those areas because of her success in the school's preschool program. So besides getting the week's work for her before we go, I think she will be all set in that department!!!
I am going to update my PTR today with pics of Max and Megan, so if you want to check him out, hop on over!!!!
Julez....CONGRATS on the house dear!!!! I am looking forward to seeing some pictures soon!!!
Jess...hang in there....I just know you will get all your answers on what to do REALLY soon!

JJ and CP....I hope your school years are starting off wonderfully!!!! Have you started your countdowns yet to the last day of school?!?!?!?!?

MM, good to hear from you! Can't wait to see pics of Max. How did Megs enjoy the first day of Kindergarten?

Stace, I say you tell your part-time job to suck it!

Jess, the job prospect sounds interesting and yes, a major change like that in your life can be quite scary but very exciting too!

Patrick started 3rd grade today. He was so excited to get back to see his friends! Daniel visited his class on back-to-school night last night and tonight his teacher is coming for a home visit. I fear Monday might be a little rough (the entire week will be until he is comfortable with this new routine) and I know I will cry

No news yet on the job I just can't believe they won't call me for an interview but obviously filling this position is not a top priority for them right now (but of course it is a top priority for me) the job announcement did give a starting date of October 1 or sooner, I was just hoping for sooner! I think I will wait and if I don't hear from them by tomorrow, I will give them a call (I HATE making those calls!)

I'm finally feeling mostly better from this rotton cold I've had which is good because my house needs a good cleaning!

Can somebody please tell me why men get so moody so quickly?? And they tell us we have PMS.

So, the new place. Here's the facts. We currently live in a 970 sq ft, 1 bed, 1 bath apartment, we're paying $1132...the biggest reason we're looking outside of the apartment realm is because these floors are paper thin and we always hear our neighbors and have had such trouble with our last neighbor below us (we're on the 2nd floor) that used to bang on our ceiling with a broom every time us or the dog walked around (mind you she was younger than us). Blake has always agreed upon that fact. And we currently live in a development that has a clubhouse, maintenance people, pool and gym included (amenities and what not).
The place we're looking at is a 1200 sq ft, 2 bed, 1.5 bath townhouse for $1125 with the clubhouse, pool and gym. Tonight I was looking up other places and they either didn't allow pets, weren't close to the beach, was an apartment, rent was too high..etc, etc. So what does the boy do, he calls his mom, THE MIL. So, she recommends this place, I look it up and the rent for a 2 bed, 2 bath APARTMENT is $1250. I'm trying to find the sq ft...and I find it and it's 868 sq ft. Now how in the heck can an apartment with an extra bed and extra bath be SMALLER than the one we're in now? And knowing the issues I have about beings super close to his family, Blake gets mad because the practical side of me comes out and explains the cost and smaller place and the fact that it's not by the beach at all and the issue that we've always agreed upon getting away from the apartments. And why is he really mad? More than likely because I said no because it's located less than 5 miles from his house, he probably didn't even hear my real story.
I swear, I can't take school, the jobs, the new apts and the moody bf on top of all that! OTTFV!

Jess- the job prospect sounds good with lots of possibilities and the townhouse sounds great too. Sorry B was moody about it.

Katie - glad you're feeling better. Sorry the job stuff isn't happening as quickly as you'd like. Still sending good thoughts your way!

Jen (MM)- loved the pics of Max and Meg. Just precious. I can totally see why you're singing and dancing around the house -- so much to celebrate!

Stick to your guns, Jess. It's not a practical place never mind the fact that it would be closer to his parents. I really regret moving to Massachusetts to be with Marc. I think I'd get along with the inlaws better if we were a few states away.

Ummm...I have to agree with the rest of the gnomies here Jess...there is no way you need to be paying more for less space especially when its not at all what you and B have discussed. That and I wouldn't even live that close to my mom let alone my MIL you need to have your own space to make your own life so as everyone else has said STICK TO YOUR GUNS on this one!!!

And yes LL I have to agree with that I get along pretty well with my Inlaws but a lot of that has to come from the fact that they live clear across the country LOL!!!!

I hope everyone has a great weeked!! Prince P and I celebrated 7 years of marriage yesterday and on top of that I lined up a sub for Disney week YAY that was such a relief for me LOL!!!!

Girls, I just got the best news today!! Blake and I have been SO worried about money right now, as you have probably gotten the vibe lately. Well, I just heard back from my part time job (well only job at the moment) and the want the job finished by Oct 6th and are giving 20 hours a week!! Normally I do 8 hours a week! So, with my part time job and my grad assistantship I was making $498 every 2 weeks, now with only the part time job I'll be making $660 every 2 weeks!!!!

And on top of that, my thesis advisors said I'm very very very close now, give me one more week to work out the last kink and then I can start my real experiments and I should be done my lab work within a month! Cross your fingers for me!!

Blake and I are going to the cheap movies to celebrate. We're going to see Transformers 2. Hope everyone has a good day and night!!

katie... keeping you in my warm thoughts& prayers... the job thing will work out, but being patient til it does sucks lol!!

Jess... hope B gets over his 'male-pms' or whatever. I agree with the majority... it'scrazy to take something smaller than you have for more $$ and an apt no less! Congratson being "this close" to getting the Thesis wrapped up! The job possibilities are great! I hope that it all works out.

I have nothing new or interesting to post.... i lead a very boring and uneventful life... usually. Kids are all set to go back to school a week from Monday. I got off for the 1st day, so I'm going to bask in the alone time!! Allison goes back to evening gym practices on Monday this week, and Ellie started soccer. I guess that's it...

Still no news on the $$ of the porch roof. Remember when they redid the floor and the rood detatched?? Wellll we wanted to get it anchored before the snow started falling. The guys got up inside it and lo and behold.... several of the trusses are bad... and will need replaced. OTTV! if it's not 1 thing its something else though I guess... what can you do??

C...hope you get a lot of Disney planning done!!

I'm going in the morning to get a manicure/pedicure so I can feel really "pretty" for the first day of school!!!!!

Inservice went by so fast but I did get the whole first week planned and I'm really excited about the first day of school! I did get the duty I wanted I get to patrol the parking lot, which might sound horrible but I don't have to deal with the kids in the cafeteria instead anyone trying to skip I get to deter them and tell them to get back into class or I'm taking names and writing them up for skipping! The only downside is that its going to be like 90 degrees out there for awhile so I'll be bringing an extra shirt to school with me but I'm considering it good exercise LOL!!!

Oh well have a great Friday night gnomies!!

I called today and talked with the program coordinator of the job I want. She said they haven't gotten to reviewing applicants next but would be getting around to it next week and will give me a call when they do.
