Gnomies Gone Wild

Me too! I don't know why I am missing it so much today -- maybe because I was scrapbooking the Disney trip -- who knows. :confused3

The other night I dreamed Darth Vader was chasing me through the mall -- sometimes I am not quite as sane as I would like to appear. :lmao:

Oh that is too cute! :goodvibes Do I see Jedi Training Camp in your future? ;)

seriously with the crab apples!!!:confused3:rotfl:

Thanks for all the encouragment on the job front ladies! I'm really hoping for it to all work out!

Can I just say that I REALLY need a dose of Disney right about now. I am hoping for some Disney dreams. :cloud9:

Me too C! I saw a Mickey hand and Goofy in the clouds today while driving and I was laughing at myself!

Good Morning Gnomies!

How is everyone this fine gloomy morning? I hope you all have sunshine and not icky rain like me.

My eyes are feeling slightly better, those eyedrops make them feel way better. Thanks again Katie.

Good morning, LL! Glad that your eyes are feeling better. We have sunshine, but I have to go grocery shopping today -- we are fast running out of food. Yick!

Good Morning Gnomies!! Today is our last day in MI and then I have to fly again (oh I do not like to fly, I would never make it to Neverland LOL)!

She gets spacers on August 13th and the actual braces on August 21st. I know she is less than thrilled.
Oh I bet. :upsidedow

Just remember that you did fine a week ago. (I hate flying, too! That's why I am always choosing places to go that are within driving distance. ;))

Jackie...go shopping LOL...your family needs food...I can imagine the looks and pleas Connor would give you if he realized you had no food in the house LOL!!

Oh, yesterday, he must have opened the pantry door a dozen times -- I guess hoping something had magically appeared (the child has Harry Potter on the brain, I guess ).

Oh I bet. :upsidedow

Her appointment on the 21st is at 8:30 and the receptionist said, "That way she can go back to school in the afternoon." As we were walking out, Chelsea turned to be in horror and said, "Do I have to go back to school? I think I need the whole day to adjust to braces!"

I'm horrified that you will be back in school on the 21st, just doesn't seem right!

Poor Girl. I am so glad that I never had to do the braces thing.

CP-Braces aren't so bad, do they know how long she has to have them on for? Thankfully I only had them on the top and only for 10 months, it was sorta fun picking out the colors! I think they made me go back to school too! ;)
JJ-I hate flying too, that's why I always have my valium supply filled :rotfl:
LL-Glad your eyes feel better!
Stace-Glad to hear about the job hunting! Love the cloud game too!

Hi C, P, Katie and MM! I miss you all!

Riley is almost at week 2 already, she goes in on friday to have her stitches taken out and cast/splint changed and should have to keep it on for another 2 weeks before they take it off. They gave us this, well I paid for this really awesome medical boot for her while she was in boarding this weekend and it's waterproof and has a flat boot part on the bottom and now I can leave her in the cage at home and not worry about her chewing her cast off! I need to get back to school here soon, lots to do and not much time to do it!

Morning ladies!

LL, glad your eye is feeling better! We are sharing your icky rain this morning. Really, you never had braces? I was in 4th grade when I started visits to the orthodontist and they went on for YEARS. I of course hated it all but wish I had stuck with the retainer for longer because my bottom teeth have moved some. My younger brother had it worse because he had to have teeth pulled in order to make room to straighten them properly (I'm afraid Patrick is headed down that same path)

CP, I just hate thinking about school starting again! When do you go back? When do kids start? (Greg goes back Aug 14 and Patrick and Daniel start the 20th) This whole working during the summer sure makes it fly by! Hope you get that boy of yours some food!

Jen, have a good trip home. When do you go back to work?

Stace, good news on the job front! Love that you see Disney clouds!

C, I agree...everyone should be as normal and well adjusted as us disers!

Jess, glad to hear Riley is doing better

anyone with sweet Disney dreams? I just had stressful job dreams :headache: Life will be much simpler when this is all sorted out!

Julez, the first house is REALLY cute!! I like the style a lot but the basement of the second one is nice too. Good luck with your decision!

LL, they sell pink eye drops OTC. (perhaps Paula or Julez can comment on the ingredient comparison between it and the prescription ones) You might pick up a bottle on your way home tonight and see if it helps, it might save you a trip to the doctor.

Well, I had the world's fastest interview this morning! I got out of my van at 8:28 and was back in my van at 8:47. (oh, and let's not forget the hour drive both ways!) What does that mean? :confused3 He described the job to me, asked about 5 questions then gave me some time to ask a few questions of my own.

So now I'm just going over the different scenarios. I could have no jobs, possibly 1 or maybe 2 part-time jobs or perhaps a full-time. I'm so confused!!!

Do I get Nobby next? :woohoo:

You want Nobby? I'll get Nobby to you! PM me your address!
Wierd about the interview. I have had some in the past where I thought, "Did that go OK? Cuz I honestly don't know!"

If we notice pink eye beginning, hubby and I use a sterile eye wash that you buy from the pharmacy section. It's comes with a little cup and you "wash" your eyeball in the solution a few times a day. Usuallyl that prevents whatever we have brewing into blowing up into full-force conjunctivitis. It also is a great help with forming styes or clogged tear ducts.

We went to look at the 2nd house yesterday. We like it, it's move-in ready... BUT Jim's really in love with that 1st one too. So we're gonna take a 2nd look tommorow and better evaluate the neighborhood and what work or items need to be replaced, etc.

:sad2: I just talked briefly with one of my supervisors and she shared a few things with me. She commented that my other supervisor has been making some comments to her that she thought were unjustified (she thankfully defended my work to him but still...) She asked if he had talked with me about a report to summarize the camp, which he has not. Apparently he is expecting this from me without asking for it or telling me what kind of information he would like in it :confused3

She also told me that they are in talks with the dean about continuing this program and adding some more responsibilities (which I agree should be done). IF the position is funded, it would be considered a new job and they would advertise it and I would have to apply and interview. Can I just say, the thought of having to interview to keep my job makes me want to vomit!

I know that it's probably just a formality and that my 1 supervisor would back me up 100% but it's my other supervisor that makes me nervous. Part of the reason I left teaching was due to a bad relationship with my principal. He would not say things to me if he had concerns or questions, instead he waited until I did something to upset him then unleash on me a list of complaints (he did this to a number of teachers, but not all and I never understood what his reasoning was). I have been feeling so good and positive about things lately, now I just feel sick

That's really crappy!

Good afternoon you gnome-alicious ladies!

Is Gnome-alicious better than Ferg-alicious?

Good luck w/the job!

Julez- those houses look great. How did it go today?

It went well. The 2nd house- the smaller one is the quintessential "1st home". It has a project that can be done (a 3rd bedroom in the basement) but is small. The yard is good sized and fenced and all the work that needs to be done has been done. The 1st house is larger, the garages are comparable, and the inside is in pristine condition. However, the windows are all older- and would need to be replaced eventually. The appliances are not included and we didn't look closely @ the mechanicals @ the open house. We're looking at it again tommorow night and will look closer at those things.

Hi, LL! I am good -- spent the day scrapbooking and avoiding the grocery store.

I need to scrapbook some more. And Jim's been doing the grocery shopping- it's so great!!

Well we actually don't return to school until the 17th and the kids come back the 24th, but we get out a little later this year which bums me out LOL!!!! Oh well I wonder when they start school in Texas LOL!!!!! I'll need time to move into my house LOL!!!!

Had a great morning went and bought a daily planner to help me keep organized and we walked the pier again...so beautiful!! Now I'm doing some laundry and getting things packed for tomorrow.

Jules...good luck going back and looking at your houses!!!

CP...have fun going to the grocery store (that is one chore I love to do...dishes on the other hand UGH)!!!

I'm horrified that you will be back in school on the 21st, just doesn't seem right!

Poor Girl. I am so glad that I never had to do the braces thing.

I am horrified, too, about going back to school -- I am counting down the days (I have ten days of freedom left). Somehow it isn't nearly as fun as counting down to Disney. :sad2:

CP-Braces aren't so bad, do they know how long she has to have them on for? Thankfully I only had them on the top and only for 10 months, it was sorta fun picking out the colors! I think they made me go back to school too! ;)

The orthodontist thinks about two years for the braces. I had them and know they aren't that bad, but I couldn't possibly know what I was talking about as far as Chelsea is concerned.

That's great, Jess! I know you are glad to be able to let Riley out of her cage!

CP, I just hate thinking about school starting again! When do you go back? When do kids start? (Greg goes back Aug 14 and Patrick and Daniel start the 20th) This whole working during the summer sure makes it fly by! Hope you get that boy of yours some food!

July 31st is my first day back, and the kids go back August 6. We get out May 21, but the summer sure did fly by somehow.

I did get to the grocery store and bought some food for the house and Connor.

I need to scrapbook some more. And Jim's been doing the grocery shopping- it's so great!!

I wish I could send Charles, but he would come home with five different kinds of cereal, a bunch of junk food, and nothing with which to make meals from -- it's just better for everyone involved if I do it.

Well we actually don't return to school until the 17th and the kids come back the 24th, but we get out a little later this year which bums me out LOL!!!! Oh well I wonder when they start school in Texas LOL!!!!! I'll need time to move into my house LOL!!!!

Lucky! I go back a week from Friday -- it makes me want to cry.

Had a great morning went and bought a daily planner to help me keep organized and we walked the pier again...so beautiful!! Now I'm doing some laundry and getting things packed for tomorrow.

Fun! I need to get a planner -- I should head to Barnes and Noble -- they always have cute ones.

Jess -- Glad to hear that Riley is doing well! Sorry that you are so busy!

Katie -- I hate work dreams like that! Nope I never had braces. I was very happy about that. I did have a retainer when I was younger, in elementary school but that is it.

Julez -- Sounds like the house hunting is going well! I am so excited for you! :yay:

Jen -- Good job getting organized! You'll be all ready for the school year!

CP -- Marc does the grocery shopping in our and he normally does a very good job. Rarely does he come home and I just look at what he bought questioning what possesed him to buy the item, it's amusing in a way.
