By now, Antss was REALLY ready to go back to her room. Since this was the first time I'd been to the resort, she offered to show me her room. And to make a LONG story short . . . we ended up hanging out in the room, with all those fast passes burning in our pockets. All three of us were unable to move! Can you believe that! We were too tired!

Later they dropped me off at Kidani, and we said our goodbyes, and I thanked "PAntss" for treating me to dinner at Boma! Thanks again PAntts, it was really nice for the 2 of you to give me that dinner as a gift!

Even though the second half of my bday didnt turn out how we planned, we really enjoyed talking and relaxing in the AIR CONDITIONING! It was a great way to end such a fun day.

That evening, I started packing. I was really excited about the rings I got this year . . .

Glass Ring from Italy

IMG_5456.jpg

Flower Rings from Morocco

IMG_5457.jpg
IMG_5460.jpg
IMG_5461.jpg

And I was careful to pack the Dino Ride pic, that Antss got for me!

Soon it was time for me to turn in for my last night at Kidani. I was hoping for SWEET dreams . . .

Day 7 - Thursday, June 11th

On my last morning, I decided to sleep in, then go to Downtown Disney. Well, that didnt happen. Once again, around 7am, they started drilling on the other side of my wall. This time I called maintenance and the front desk to complain. They really didnt seem to care. That S U C K S! So on my LAST morning, I ended up being awake HOURS before I intended.

After laying in the bed NON-sleeping, I called to get the movie times for "Land of the Lost" at Downtown Disney (DTD). After packing the room, and looking over it a MILLION times, I headed to the front desk to check out. There I told the CM - with an ANGRY face - about the 2 morning of drilling. When she tried to smile and apologize, I kept a straight face. I told her, this is MY VACATION, and I should be able to sleep past 6:45am if I wish! And on that awful note, I left Kidani.

When I got to DTD, I was very glad that I did NOT try to go to a park. IT WAS BLAZING HOT. I mean the kind of hot, that is soooo hot, that you think it's you, that it couldnt possibly be this hot, that maybe if you get to the shade, that maybe if you stop talking to yourself in your head you'd cool off. The kind of hot that you think you skin is making a sizzling sound because it is burning away! And keep in mind, it's only about 10:30am!!!

Since the movie didnt start till noon, I walked over to the Market Place, carefully looking for shade the WHOLE way!

IMG_5411.jpg
IMG_5409.jpg

During my walk, I came across 2 firsts:

Ragland Road

IMG_5413.jpg

Adventurers' Club

IMG_5412.jpg

I've heard about both of these on The DIS many times, but had never seen it. Too bad they closed The Adventurers' Club before I got a chance to go!

Later, I finally saw the new Dinosaur-themed restaurant that openned...

IMG_5418.jpg
IMG_5417.jpg
IMG_5416.jpg

I passed the water-way, and wished I could jump in! But there was a monter there!

IMG_5421.jpg

Soon I was at my destination, World of Disney!

IMG_5424.jpg
IMG_5428.jpg
IMG_5429.jpg
IMG_5430.jpg
IMG_5433.jpg

It was cool seeing some "UP" merchnadise!

IMG_5431.jpg
IMG_5432.jpg

Everytime I walk pass the Boutique, I wish I was young girl so I could get all dolled up! (I've heard that it's really expensive though!)

IMG_5427.jpg
IMG_5425.jpg
IMG_5426.jpg

This time I didnt buy much, just a sticker and a magnet. I then went over to Christmas shop, but came out empty-handed. Soon I headed back out to the 150 degree Sun, to start my trek over to the movie theater. By the time I got there, I needed a snack, so I forked over what seemed like $50 for popcorn and soda.

While waiting for "Land of the Lost" to start, I congratulated myself for ending my trip on a relaxing note. . . until the movie started and I realized that I had been indeed PUNKED! This was the most stupid movie I've ever seen! IT WAS AWFUL! I was angry for spending my money and time on something SOOOO STUPID! Oh well.

After the movie, I drove to the airport and dropped off the red Nissan Versa. It was such a fun car to drive!

As I was on the plane on the way home, I saw some of the most beatiful clouds, that looked as if you could lay in them!

IMG_5439.jpg
IMG_5437.jpg

IMG_5438.jpg

Soon I was back home in rainy, cool Baltimore. Oh well.

This was one of the best trips ever! I had no idea that I would neet up with so many DISers, and get to eat at a great restaurant everyday! It seemed that the plans, and expectations I had for my trip changed with less than a week before it was time to go.

Thanks to all of you who helped to make this one of my best Birthdays ever! This trip really let me Expect the Unexpected! And hopefully, there will be more to come . . . The End - NO WAIT - The Beginning . . . :wave2:

Hi Glendamax! You're up really late! I'm all caught up - glad you had such a special birthday with lots of magic! I love the tiara. I think every birthday girl should wear one. I don't know why people would stare. How can that be any wierder than a huge top hat with Goofy ears?:confused3

Here's my sleepy pic as requested - I took this at DL last year for Jordan - "Sleepy Peeps"

6524029a.jpg

:lmao: What a great birthday -- Rockstar treatment at POTC, a birthday hat, a ride in the front of the monorail! I don't think it gets any better! And yes, we need to compare dates next time!

Yes, I felt like a Rock Star indeed!
My next trip is December 13th - 18th @ AKV.
__________________________________________________________

It sounds like you have a fantastic birthday! That was some serious Rock Star Treatment. I can't see your pictures at work, but I bet that Tiara is Rockin'. I want to see that backstage entrance to PoC. Lucky you!

Hope you've gotten a chance to see my pics! I hate it when some things are blocked at work!
____________________________________________________________
so awesome that you got to go backstage at PotC! such a great birthday treat. and you watched a parade?????? you really are becoming a disney dork like me and a lot of other dissers! :rotfl:

I KNOW! It must be Old Age! HA!
_____________________________________________________________
We'll be there for Christmas! We're arriving on the 17th and staying through New Years. Do we have any overlapping dates? :hyper:

The sleepers in Disney-well, I am guilty of snapping a few of those shots myself. Most of the time they are my own family though-who would string me up by my toenails if I posted them. Last Christmas I did snap a pic of a woman with severe triple muffin top who was also giving us plumbers crack-I thought that qualified as a travel memory since we all had a serious fit of the giggles over it. Like a car accident, you know its bad but you have to look anyway. :rotfl: I feel better now that I've confessed my sins.

I didn't know about the tap dancing window. How cool is that? :cool2: I'm definitely seeking that out next time. And as sad as last weeks monorail accident was, I'm going to try for that next time too. I never rode up front before. Now did you guys get those ginormous rice crispie treats? Woah...I'd need a few weeks to finish those bad boys off. ;)

I'll be back Dec. 13th - 18th. So maybe we can have a meal the day you arrive? Let's try to see in September when I make my dinner reservations!

I'm so glad you get a kick out of people sleeping in WDW. On my next trip, I'm gonna to get more shots!

And no, we didnt get the HUGE treats - we just took the pics!
_______________________________________________________________

What great star treatment you received at the MK!!!
I didn't know about the tap dancing window...must check that out! I did know about the phone in the hat shop on Main Street and I scoped that out (an old time phone that you pick up and you can hear people talking on a party line :rotfl:.
Front seat on the monrail! :thumbsup2 You go birthday girl!! :cool1:
Love the video! :lmao:

Thanks! I have to find that phone!
______________________________________________________________

Glenda, we are going to be at Kidani December 20-25th. It would be great to meet you!
Man! I'll be gone by the time you get there :( But there's always next year!
______________________________________________________________

Wait a second..........:confused3
ok, I'm back. I had to make sure I was reading a Glenda TR! This one has "character pics", "watching a parade", "waiting 30 minutes for Peter Pan"!!:lmao: I was a bit confused!! :rotfl2: You had a wonderful birthday!!!! You got to ride in the front of the monorail. (don't know if I'd like to do that anymore) I love the Cinderella figurine you got. It's beautiful. BTW, where did you get your Cindy shirt? It's really cute. Those pics of the people sleeping were just too funny!!

I got the shirt at a Disney Store in a mall here in Baltimore last year. Maybe they'll still have them online?
I REALLY enjoyed riding in the front of the monorail. Glad I got to do it BEFORE the big accident. I wonder if they'll stop that now.
_______________________________________________________________

Loved the update as usual! My nephew was with me when I was reading it and he said he loves Tinkerbell too but he loves Cinderella the best because her dress matches his eyes. (He's 3. The things this kid likes just because it matches his eyes! Oy!)

Parades can be fun if you catch them at the right time but unless it's Spectromagic or MNSSHP Parade Boo to You, I can't see waiting an hour in heat and sun for it.

I say if it's your birthday and you are in WDW you whatever you want! I got a haircut in the MK in October and afterwards they put "Pixie Dust" on you if you want. I was getting the same looks and it just made me laugh my butt off!

Glad to see you're feeling better and looking forward to the next installment!
Thank you!
You are sooooo right about NOT waiting for a parade in the sun. Glad Antss found a shady spot!
And if I ever go back on my bday again, I will pack my tiara!
________________________________________________________________

So sorry I haven't been around this trip report in awhile! But I'm baaaack & finally all caught up! :)

I think it's so cool that you took pictures with the Step-Mother and Step-Sisters and watched the parade at Magic Kingdom!
Yes, I'm glad I got to meet them too! I'd actually like to do it again - that is, if the line isnt too long!
_______________________________________________________________

How flippin neat you got to the front of the line! Hooray for CM awesomeness!
Yeah Baby! Gmax, Rock Star!
_____________________________________________________________

I have been a lurker for a while now but I had to post to let you know how much I enjoy your TR's. Matter of fact-the very first TR I ever read on here was one of yours! :worship: You always have so much fun on your trips and always keep me laughing! Love your pictures to see if you are "tall enough" :lmao:
I read that you took some test that says you should date Asian men-hmmm-have you met Jordan yet? :rotfl2:
Have fun in October! I will be there also but I think its a few weeks after you!
Have a great weekend!
Thank you! I can't believe you read one of my reports first! YAY!
And no, I havent met Jordan . . .does he meet the height requirement?!
_______________________________________________________________

It sounds like you had a ball.:cool1:
I did! Would be nice to meet you! Maybe we can meet up next year!
_____________________________________________________________

Wonderful, wonderful trip report! Can't wait until your next update!

Thank you! I hope you'll like the ending~
_____________________________________________________________
What a great birthday you had! You have me imagining spending my b-day at Disney and hoping to get some Disney Magic sent my way.
You should do! I think everyone should at least ONCE!
___________________________________________________________

I think I said this before....but I am DEFINITELY going to do this on my birthday in November!! I can't WAIT!! :yay:

This was a great start to a fun birthday....can't wait to see the rest!

Hope you are good!!
Hey! Check out the party and toy stores before you go to see if you can find a cheaper Tiara. Mine was $15. Cant wait to see how you're trip goes! I KNOW it'll be fun!

This is a BONUS pic! Good Grief! ALL of them are knocked out! HA! Thanks so much for posting this!

Oh, goody! I am so glad you are going back in December so we get another trip report -- our next trip is in October!

I always plan my attack at Boma as well! :lmao: There is a fine art to it! ;)

You had me cracking up over your description of the heat on Thursday! We were at Animal Kingdom -- I am sure you can imagine what that was like!

G Max - What a perfect ending to your birthday and a lovely ending to your trip. That stinks about the drilling - what was that all about? I heard none of that.

I will agree that Thursday was extremely hot. Be glad you left when you did because it only got hotter! Or, at least, it felt that way. Thursday was the day I knew my crocs were going to melt on the asphalt parking lot at HS. I expected to look down and see my bare feet!

I finally got a chance to look at your trip report... since I'm unemployed. UGH! My consulting contract ended on June 30th. Rats. So, I'm looking for work again and have time to read TRs. Yours is fantastic, Glenda!

I've enjoyed your TR with all of the pictures and video. It was like being with you on vacation. You were as excited as I was the first time I rode in the front of the monorail. We did it for our first Gotcha Day with our kids. That was the anniversary of our adoption. We wore buttons and the CMs were so nice to us, too. We got to ride all of the mountains 2X because my DS, who was 7 at the time, played up the act that only one year ago, he and his sister had no parents and were living in Russia. He really milked the day for all it was worth.

You have me wanting to try Boma now, too.

One of my friends spent 2 years in Togo, Africa, in the peace corps after we graduated from college. She said the first time she went to AK, in the African Village, it actually smelled like Africa. She was very impressed. She didn't know how Disney got the smells so spot on. She said it was all she could talk about to her DH and mother when they were planning a family trip together. She was disappointed that they had taken out whatever made the area smell so authentic. She said she kept apologizing to he mom and DH about talking it up so much. She really wanted them to experience what she had.

Another funny thing that she said was that there was a group playing kettle drums. She walked up to one of the guys and said, aren't you from (whereever in Africa she thought he was from)? He told her to keep her voice down. Not many Americans know the subtle differences between the people of different countries in Africa. He was impressed that she noticed, though.

Well, I'm babbling. I've gotta go send my resume to a few places.

Again, your TR was great!

What a great ending/beginning to your trip... I like that you said that "the beginning." So great about DVC because you know you are always going back! :goodvibes Thanks for the yummy Boma pictures! I like all of your new loot...really pretty rings! SSR is nice but like you said it was really spread out. I stayed there in January and while it was pretty I don't think I will be back anytime soon. I like walking through a lobby and having interior rooms.
I know that "hot" you are talking about. The first time I saw Lights, Motor, Action whatever the rest is @ HS it was sooooooo hot (in August) and my niece and I vowed to never watch it again. Last year I took her with two of my other nephews and of course being boys they wanted to see it. :sad2: I swear I could hardly breathe. I didn't want any hot breath coming out of me adding to my personal kiln I was sitting in! :rotfl: Thankfully I had my video camera so I taped it and now we are all good!! :thumbsup2

So Glenda when is your Christmas trip? I will there 12/27 to 1/2 I would love to meet you to. You in your tiara and me in my crown, priceless.:rotfl2:

Another great trip report Glenda! :thumbsup2 I really enjoyed reading it and celebrating your birthday wtih you thru your report!

So was June hotter than when you've gone in Sept? Sept. is so hot and humid that I have a hard imagining June is worse. :rotfl:

Will be looking forward to your December trip report!

Thanks for taking the time to write this and sharing your story, pictures and videos!

Thanks for such a fun trip report! I hate that you are not going to hang around for an extra couple of days in December.....

Note to self..... Find a glass ring like Glenda's in Italy, it's beautiful!

And later the waiter brought over bowls of peanut ride . . .

IMG_5376.jpg

i'm glad your server brought you some peanut rice anyway! this happened back in september too but our server that time brought you a whole thing of it in a to-go box! so it sounds to me like all you have to do is say something about the lack of peanut rice and poke out that bottom lip a little bit if it's not peanut rice night and they make it all better! something to remember for next time! :thumbsup2

This would be my first time at Saratoga Springs. I fell in love with it! But too bad it's so S P R E A D out! After we parked, we sat by the water facing Downtown Disney. It was very relaxing siting there listening to the water laping up around the shore.

i loved SSR, too! we actually stayed in the building closest to the water where you guys were sitting, congress park. the size of the resort didn't bother me since there was bus service around so not much walking was required, although the walk from our building to the main area was only about 7 minutes and on a nice day was a nice little walk. i just loved being near DTD if i needed to do a little shopping or go by goofy's or wolfgang puck express to get something to eat. it was only a 10-minute walk over there from our building and mostly in shade! :thumbsup2 and i loved sitting in those rocking chairs at night looking over at the lights of DTD. :cloud9:

so glad you had such a great birthday trip!!! can't wait to hear about your adventures in december!

Oh Glenda, I love those rings you purchased!!! :thumbsup2 Very nice! You certainly had a wonderful birthday! So, "the beginning"......are you telling us something????

Sorry your last moments at the movies were wasted. Thanks for the warning. I loved that show as a kid. I look forward to Dec. TTFN! as Tigger would say!:cool1:

I want you to go back and write some more :sad1:

It was such a great Trip report I hated for it end.

Very glad you had such a wonderful Birthday. :wizard:

Happy Happy Birthday to you Glenda :flower3:

I always love your TR and this one was so great!! Your pic with the Dinosaur sign always crack me up!:rotfl:

You looked so lovely in your tiara :goodvibes...and what a special birthday...going backstage at PoC...awesome!!! :cool1:

I LOVE the rings you bought...so beautiful!

Thanks for sharing your birthday adventure ....it's always a good time when it's a Glendamax TR!!:thumbsup2

And a belated....

Sometimes you just have to forget the fun that's out there and have some down time either alone or with friends. You get such a workout at Disney World and those tired legs beg for a break!

After packing the room, and looking over it a MILLION times, I headed to the front desk to check out. There I told the CM - with an ANGRY face - about the 2 morning of drilling. You deprive us.

It's great that you have lots of DIS friends to share your trip with! :dance3:

So Glenda when is your Christmas trip? I will there 12/27 to 1/2 I would love to meet you to. You in your tiara and me in my crown, priceless.:rotfl2:

We have a small group meeting at the Poly beach to watch NYE fireworks, if you are interested in joining us!

That's an open invitation to anyone who will be there. We're just going to spread out our blankets on the beach, get some Captain Cook's, and sit and talk and eat while waiting for the big fireworks show.:)

.

Later they dropped me off at Kidani, and we said our goodbyes, and I thanked "PAntss" for treating me to dinner at Boma! Thanks again PAntts, it was really nice for the 2 of you to give me that dinner as a gift!

The Dynamic Duo PAntss sure did enjoy every minute of time spent with you!!!:goodvibes

Hi Glenda,
Loved your TR! (as usual) I am sorry you got woken up twice during your vacation. That is just wrong. :headache:

I don't think I have ever seen an angry Glendamax. I can't really imagine you w/o your smile so.... Let me see your angry face...

:cool1::cheer2:I am happy that your trip was so fun and your birthday was especially magical. It great that you got to meet up with so many Dissers! As always, I will be looking forward to your next TR. Hopefully, in the not so distant future our paths will cross again.:goodvibes

OH GOSH! I can't believe you were at AK that day, and you LIVED to tell it!
Don't think there will be anymore TRs. They're too much work. But thanks for reading! I'll be ending my thread about my hair next month too, after I hit my one-year mark.

Soooo sorry about your job. People at my job are being let go too :sad2:
I wish I could remember the "smell" your friend referred to! Maybe they'll bring it back. It's good to know that the villiage is authentic, even if some of the performers are from the wrong region!

That heat was no joke! I feel sorry for those whom it was their first trip ever, or first in a long time. It was easy to skip some things, because I know I'd be back in December. Maybe then I'll catch Lights Motor Action!

So Glenda when is your Christmas trip? I will there 12/27 to 1/2 I would love to meet you to. You in your tiara and me in my crown, priceless.:rotfl2:
Man that would be great, but I wont be there. I'm going the week BEFORE Christmas. Next year I think I'm going in September. When you know you're plans, let me know!

Yes, I guess I should just ask for the rice when they don't have it. I wonder if that would work for the pudding too!

If my home resort - AKL - is ever unavailable, I'll try for SSR! It was beautiful!

My bday trip was GREAT! As for December, I dont think I'll be writing a report.
____________________________________________________________

Oh Glenda, I love those rings you purchased!!! :thumbsup2 Very nice! You certainly had a wonderful birthday! So, "the beginning"......are you telling us something????

Sorry your last moments at the movies were wasted. Thanks for the warning. I loved that show as a kid. I look forward to Dec. TTFN! as Tigger would say!

Sometimes you just have to forget the fun that's out there and have some down time either alone or with friends. You get such a workout at Disney World and those tired legs beg for a break!

And we didn't get a picture of your angry face?
You deprive us.

It's great that you have lots of DIS friends to share your trip with! :dance3:
Yes, I don't regret NOT doing anything my last night at all, I was just too tired, and it was great being with friends. I do regret that I didnt get a chance to meet up with Angwil again though . . .

As for my angry face, I'll try to take a pic! I think it's pretty angry - my
co-workers think so!

TTFN
Darlene:hug:
Hey Darlene! Sorry, but I think this is it for Trip Reports. I wtill havent made a formal complaint about them waking me up. I should've done that as soon as I got home!
