Okay, girls--you pros out there--I have a g-mail dots question!

In an effort to help me get my offers crediting (I'm next to nothing here lately on QR), Dmitry has been trying to help me.

He suggested I try going the g-mail dots route. I apparently misunderstood him. I created one e-mail accout (d.canoli@gmail.com), and tried about 5 or 6 offers. ONE credited. Dmitry said two of the offers I did were perfect and fast crediting offers; however, neither one of them credited.

Then, he asked me if I tried another dot. So, I went and created ANOTHER e-mail account, which (apparently, again) was NOT what he meant.

Dmitry said I don't have to create new Google e-mail accts. I just have to move the dot within my e-mail account.

So, what are you girls doing? How can I move the dot (i.e., d.canoli to dc.anoli)? It won't be a legitimate e-mail address then.

Is that right? Is that what you are all doing?

I need to know so I can get my offers to credit.

Thanks! Deb

What you need to do is create ONE gmail account that is fairly long so you can move dots around in many different ways. You can add one or more dots in various ways in your email addy and they will all get sent to the same gmail account.

Example:

1) Create an email account - myrewardsprograms@gmail.com
2) Use any of the following and they will still go to the same gmail acct.

my.rewards.programs@gmail.com, m.yrewardsprograms@gmail.com, m.y.r.e.w.a.r.d.s.programs@gmail.com, etc. etc. etc.

Move dots around, add as many or as few as you like. They all go to the same gmail acct.

HTH!

Well, I tried it. Talked to Dmitry (for what seems like) all night last night.

I actually, for the heck of it, went thru the whole Contests section of QR. Did a ton of offers by moving the dot around (I didn't know I could use more than one dot).

Guess what? Only two credited!

Still don't know what is holding up the offers from crediting!

Do you turn off your Windows Firewall? Dmitry said that might be another thing that is holding them back. I'm already trying all the offers from QR in Firefox....

I don't think I have a windows firewall (old computer running windows 98), but I do run sygate firewall and I don't turn it off.

Basically, I clear cookies before doing any offer and make sure I use a unique email addy by moving dots around. I also only try one offer per day of each kind (like only one MID, one SE, one MPG, etc.). I usually only try one offer, wait for it to credit, clear cookies, try another offer, wait for credit, clear cookies, etc. Don't clear cookies until you get credit or you may wipe the cookie off that the company tracks to give you credit.

I have pretty good luck getting things to credit, but some just won't.

Good luck!

Have you recently gone in and deleted the spyware on your computer. That has tracking cookies as well and can prevent offers from crediting that cookie cleaner doesn't pick up.

Maybe you have done the offers on another site as well which is why they aren't crediting even if you have a different email address the company recognizes you by other information and won't credit you.

And also some offers just don't credit no matter what you do. Some people are just super lucky with getting things to credit and some aren't. Sometimes some offers from certain companies credit really good well other companies don't. No not every single offer I do credits but the ones that do far out number the ones that don't so I keep doing them.

Been down this road a 1,000 times, but here's what is going on.....

I am using unique e-mail addresses, but the offers still aren't crediting. Dmitry and other have said you shouldn't have to do one offer, wait for it to credit, and then do another. You should be fine doing more than one at a time.

I don't clear the cookies because, you are right--it could wipe off the cookie the company is looking for.

I haven't deleted any of my spyware, so that's not the problem. I keep a spreadsheet of all offers I do, so I know I am not repeating any of them.

I repeated a few last night, with Dmitry's permission, to see if we could get them to credit with a gmail account.

Also, doing a "ton" of offers at a time is never a good idea.

I usually only do 5 or 6 offers from a rewards site a day, but upon Dmitry's request, I tried more. He said, "You only did 5 or 6 all day?" So, even though most of us do stick to the less is more theory, you CAN do more and it SHOULDN'T affect you.

For some reason, QR's offers just aren't crediting for me. For example, Dmitry said the Prevacid is a "perfect crediting" offer, which is supposed to credit really fast.

A lot of people have said that it did, indeed, credit quickly for them, but working with Dmitry, we tried it all different ways, and it just won't credit for me, and it's a new offer!

So, for whatever reason, some people get credits and some of us do not!

I was just hoping you girls had some other "secret" to help unlock non-crediting offers! Thanks for trying!

If you think of anything else, let me know! I'm open to anything!

Wow. This is really puzzling. I get credit for just about everything I do on QR. Has Dmitry mentioned if the advertisers just track by email addresses? Do they use names or home addresses or IP addresses to scan for duplicates KWIM? confused3 It must have something to do with your computer. If I were you I would try to use another computer and IP (maybe a friends who doesn't do rewards programs) to just run a test and see what happens.

Well....he e-mailed me a little while ago, after talking w/his programmer.

He told me to take the immunization off my Spybot. I already had it off for Firefox but not for IE.

I am using Firefox for just about everything QR and I do not clear the cookies right after I do an offer.

I even tried two new offers on QR this afternoon. I did the smiley download offer and the 3d screensaver offer. Neither one of them have credited yet.

I'd hate to try from another computer because I just don't want to run into any problems down the road, you know?

I haven't had big problems with offers crediting in the past, but now, it's like a famine over there for me.

I did about five or six on SR the same day as QR, and 3 out of those 6 credited pretty fast.....

Not sure what is going on.....I'm not sure about the IP address thing because you CAN try offers again after so long, you know?

Dmitry said to try and use g-mail and move the dot around. I take it that means it's all based on e-mails.

If you guys get any other ideas, throw 'em my way! Deb

Hi! I don't know if this has been mentioned yet or not....

If your gmail account is d.canoli, you have to keep that period right where it is. You can add another one and move it around, but the original has to stay put. example: d.can.oli@xxxx.com

Create a new account with NO periods so you can place them wherever you like without worrying about it. Example 1: dcanoli@xxxx.com Example 2: dcanol.i@xxxx.com Example 3: dc.an.oli@xxxx.com

I would also create a longer gmail address so you can get the most out of it.

I hope this helps. Good luck! :)

I don't think that's true. Dmitry told me otherwise, and I actually tried it out. I originally signed up as d.canoli@gmail.com, and then, I e-mailed myself as that and then dc.anoli@gmail.com and then dca.noli@gmail.com, and they all came through.

Okay, just to double check myself, I tried it again, but today, it didn't work.

So..of course, I had to try it your way! :goodvibes And guess what? Yep, it worked!

I think I'm going to see if I can close the two accounts I created earlier and set up a new one like you suggested!

Thanks for the tip!

It seems you've got it working again. Just a thing to look for sometimes when using IE (I don't use Firefox, so not sure if it has a similar thing).

In IE Tools ---> Internet Options ---> Privacy Tab ---> Sites ---> Managed Websites

This is a list of blocked sites. Once I cleared that list I had a bunch of credits that I could never get no matter what I did. (I just chose "Remove All", I've never gotten any virus or spyware b/c of this removal...)

Note: If you use Spybot, when you run an update for Immunize, it will repopulate this list and you have to clear it again.

Alright. I couldn't delete the account, but I created a really good LONG e-mail name!

Now, I'm off to try a few offers on QR & SR with my new name and DOTS! :goodvibes

Thanks!

Hmmmm....Well...it's not working right still because only 2 out of the 3 credited. I still can't get that darn Prevacid to credit at QR, but now, I've done it at SR and it credited, so I guess the point is moot anyway.

...and only 2 out of 3 credited at SR too.

I didn't know I could clear the blocked sites on IE. I'm going to go and try that now.

Thanks for the great tip!

BTW...did you re-do the offers that wouldn't credit or did they just work?

Deb

Thanks for posting this Laura! I could never figure out how to find my list of blocked websites. When I went through the list, there were a bunch of websites on there that I didn't block. How did that happen?

I thought at first that it was from when I used to get prompted for cookies, I would always deny. But just recently I noticed that when I ran updates for Spybot, the list was there again.

Deb: I did have to re-do the offers. What that list did was block the cookie from my computer...

Also, sometimes I find that if I don't get credit using gmail, I will get it w/ a yahoo address, and vice versa. That is trial and error though. For me Brandarama only seems to work w/ yahoo, but other people get it w/ gmail!

Well, I am just totally at a loss and about to quit.

I am wasting both my time and my family's time sitting here all day (and sometimes night) at the computer.

I got a new gmail acct. last night (a long one like you girls suggested that I could move dots around in), cleared my blocked websites list, and unchecked the Immunization feature in Spybot.

Then, I tried 5 offers on both SR & QR with the new address. Guess what happened? Nothing!

Only 1 offer (on QR credited). None of my QR surveys are crediting, I did 2 paid offers (Vacation Passport and GymAmerica) that never credited, etc.

Why should I keep spending all this time and effort on these sites when they just won't cooperate with my PC?

All this just starting happening, and I don't know why! I'm completely frustrated and stumped!

:confused3
