GM employee line for test track?

I am hoping someone out there knows the answer to this.

My best friend works for GM and she heard a rumor in her office that GM employees can show their ID badge and get in a special line for test track - skip a lot of the wait.

Does anyone have any idea if this is true? If so, where would that be? She is trying to find someone in her office with the real facts, but I thought I would ask on here as well.

I don't know about a special "line" but the do have access to the private "sponsor" lounge upstairs.

You go to the exit by going through the car exhibit. You go up the left side behind where you pick your TT picture. There will be a CM that will let you through. You go up and over and bypass the movie.

Does anyone know if this applies to EDS employees since for a long time we were owned by GM, still do most of their IT work, and we get all the other same employee benefits that GM does regarding car discounts? (I have an EDS badge, but no GM badge)

Yes!!! this is very true!! my step-mom is a contrator for GM and we went to WDW this past july. there is a door on the side of test track.. i believe right next to the queing area.. they ask to see your badge and they let you right in. you go to a big room with refreshments and viewing areas (of the ride and of epcot). then, when they call for you, its your turn to ride and you basically just walk right on. we only waited for about 10 minutes in this room and we were the only ones up there. it was great!!!!

If you are going to ride between 11 - 5 (hours are posted on the door) you can go up to the lounge and get your ride passes there. You need to go into the door by the fastpass machines. Go through the door, up to the elevator, and ring the button. They will ask for you to show your id into the camera. They will send the elevator down, take the elevator up to the lounge. The lounge area has free fountain drinks and a huge window that overlooks Test Track. When you are ready to ride, go to the desk and sign in. She will ask you for your party size and how many times you would like to ride. She then will direct you to Test Track. If you come after hours, go through the shop and into the vehicle showroom. There is a desk on the left. Tell them that you are a GM employee and would like to ride Test Track. The will give you your passes and tell you how to get to the ride.....................

I do not think this applies to EDS employees.
