Gluten Free

Did they have naan at Boma too? Either Boma or Sanaa are on my list for our upcoming trip.
They did not have it at Boma....But there was plenty of great food on the buffet that was safe!...A chef will take you around and make you a special dessert tray. Make sure to have gluten added to your reservation as an allergy!

As far as I know, only Sanaa has the ability to make fresh gluten free naan. Though really, Sanaa should be on most folks list of places to try. I very good experience despite the schlepp to get there...

I had gluten free naan at Boma. Not sure how we got it because I had heard it wasn't available before our trip, but it magically appeared with a hummus plate the chef brought

Check out www.gfinorlando.com. I actually feel like a normal diner at restaurants on vacation at Disney, which is not usually how I feel as someone with Celiac. They do a fantastic job!

I just got back from my first fully GF trip to Disney. My favorite meal is 50s Prime Time Cafe. Someone mentioned this above, but if you can order the Fried Chicken before you go, its really good! Thats the only one on your list that I've been to.

My favorite resource to use was www.gforlando.com; she lives in the area and has the perspective her herself, and her two girls. Lots of pictures too!

The one difference I noticed, is that it takes a lot longer to get GF food than a regular meal. On one hand this is really great, because in my head it means they are being careful. However, just be prepared for it to take a few extra minutes (10-15 extra) if you are running to a show or FP.

Gasparilla Grill at the GF can make you amazing Mickey Waffles for breakfast! It's great if you can plan to go there for an early meal then head right to MK for the morning. I've also heard really great things about Contempo Cafe at the Contemporary. Really a lot of the resort dining has great gluten free availability but in the parks it can be more difficult. Lunch is always a bit tricky but I'm also vegetarian so that limits my options even more than most.

It does need a reservation now (sadly!) but Beaches and Cream makes the best gluten free grilled cheese I've ever had and of course their milkshakes are gluten free too! They often give you two grilled cheeses to replace the tomato soup which is apparently not gluten free.

If you're not too worried about health remember Mickey Bars make a great lunch and are gluten free haha!

Just got back a week ago from our first gluten-free trip to WDW for daughter. We ate at Y&Y, and the chef came out to talk with her about what she might want. She loves the crispy honey chicken, which I figured would be impossible, but the chef made it for her, using grilled chicken rather than fried nuggets, and daughter (13) said it was great. Also was able to get a GF "grand sandwich" at Grand Floridian Café and had a very attentive chef at The Wave who really went out of her way to make it a good meal for our daughter.

We also got some donuts from the GF bakery at Disney Springs (quite good) and ate our way around Food & Wine. She cheated a little bit and felt bad for it, but thankfully, there are lots of options that are indeed GF, so she really didn't feel like she was missing out on much of anything (and ultimately regretted the cheating....we're still relatively new to GF, and after five or six weeks of GF, she really wanted to cheat and "enjoy"...she faked it pretty well, but later confessed to feeling bad most of the day).

On our last morning, we stopped at Goofy's Candy Company and she got marshmallows custom-dipped in Butterfinger. We thought Butterfingers were OK....but apparently not. She was curled up in a ball most of the way home (nine hours) and missed school the next day. Wife researched Butterfingers and found lots of GF folks saying that they also had serious problems with it. Like I said, we're still new to this, but are learning fast to do our own research when questions or doubts arise.

Thank you guys so much! This information is so helpful. I was diagnosed with Celiac's Disease after coming back from Disney last year! I was so miserable.......I ate my way around the world and that was the straw that broke the celiac camels back...so to speak.

We are going again in February and this makes me feel so much better.

I posted a GF dining review from our most recent trip a few days ago on the DISabilites board.

Following this thread. I have been diagnosed with Celiac since we were last at Disney. The dining is so much of the fun for us!!! We budget for our trips by eating CHEAP throughout the year, so we eat like kings while we are there. When I was diagnosed, my heart immediately went to how our Disney vacations will be SO different for me now. Very interested to watch and see how to do this. We go in Oct 2016.

Besides Tangieriene Cafe I would say avoid the sister sit-down restaurant Marrakesh in Moracco. The only restaurant experience I didn't feel safe in during our trip last March, and I suffered that night. They did not follow the protocols every other restaurant did.

My brother has Celiac and we had fantastic dining experiences last week at Crystal Palace, Ohana breakfast and dinner, Hollywood & Vine lunch, Pizza Planet, Mara, Sanaa, Boma, Be Our Guest, Cape May, Tusker House, and Sci-Fi. We didn't have a great experience at Cosmic Ray's and will avoid it in the future.

Pizza Planet did a great gluten free pizza, with an OMG brownie and side salad with gluten free italian dressing. We could have chosen a antipasta salad, Enjoy life cookie, or Lays chips instead.

The Mara was fantastic and our favorite quick service option. Many items were naturally gluten free off the menu including the roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans, and the african stew. We were also able to get a gluten free hamburger on a gluten free bun with safe fries or a gluten free flatbread. The chef came out and talked to us and was very thorough. They had several gluten free dessert/snack options including Mickey bars, sugar cookies, flourless chocolate cake, soups from Boma, popsicles, and babycakes donuts and cupcakes.

Be Our Guest was nice with the gluten free raspberry cream puff, safe fries and a gluten free roast beef sandwich. The potato leek soup was gluten free as well and delicious.

Tusker House was great. They had a gluten free peanut butter bar that was a big hit as well as some delicious options on the buffet. The molten chocolate volcano cake was to die for. Very few items on the buffet were off limits except for the mac n cheese and bread sections.

Cape May breakfast was new for us and we loved it. The chorizo scrambled eggs, asparagus, gluten free mickey waffles, fresh berries, babycakes donuts, and ham were all delicious.

Boma was yummy. Again almost all the options were gluten free except the obvious no nos (muffins, breakfast breads) but they serve babycakes products here so donuts, safe waffles, and gluten free muffins were brought to our table. Most of the African items were gluten free so it was nice to have unique options.

Sanaa was nice. We did the bread service and he thoroughly enjoyed the gluten free naan bread. Most of the potjie inspired dishes were options for him but he went with the butter chicken and loved it.

Cosmic Ray's- the lines were long and the food took a long time. When his gluten free burger came up it had cheese on it when I ordered I ordered it plain. Mistakes don't inspire confidence and they were out of the allergy tenders. By the time new burger was made the fries were cold so overall the meal was a downer. It took over an hour too which was ridiculous for counter service. Ordering and finding seating was chaotic. We have decided we are skipping this one and sticking with Columbia Harbour house in the future.

Just got back from my first GF trip as well. It was so easy and they were so accommodating. The chefs were so kind and walked me through the buffets. At BOG, the chef custom made my order. The OMG brownies are delicious. It does take a few extra minutes, so don't be surprised. At Pinocchio Village Haus I was given a pager and returned to the window for my pizza after they made it fresh for me.

On our last trip, DD was still GF. She has since grown out of her intolerance.

I researched like crazy in advance, and we ate very well. The World Showcase restaurants are not technically run by Disney, so they don't have to follow the same protocols. We ate TS at Garden Grill, and loved it. Liberty Tree Tavern and Boma were other big hits that we planned in advance.

Our big surprise was that both TS restaurants in Mexico could make most of their menu GF (corn tortillas). We ended up at La Hacienda, and our server was awesome. Everyone knew exactly what gluten was, including the hostesses, when we walked up to check. Very positive experience. No Disney GF web sites had mentioned those restaurants, so I thought I'd share that.

Most of The Biergarten is meat, so gf should be easy there, but does anyone have any specific stories?
Biergarten is one of my daughter's favorite places to eat. She loves all the sausages and sauerkraut. She had a lot of choices, but I can't remember them all right now. The chicken and fish are safe, at least they were. A lot of the salads are safe.
