I was hoping to start a thread about eating GF at the parks. I would love to find out what is good for my DD14 before we go. Maybe to streamline it, everyone who wants to participate could follow the format below?

1. The park, location and resturant name
2. The item name
3. Whether the item is GF or GS ( GLuten free for people who can not tolerate any gluten at all or GS for people who are sensitive but don't have to have food prepared in separate area)**
4. Was it good? (I know this is subjective but answer as best you can)
5. When you ate there, cause if it was more than a year ago, it may no longer be available.
6. No need to post things like "side of fruit" or "asparagus" cause these things are obviously going to be GF.....I should hope!!

**like when you order a GF pizza from Domino's pizza and they have the disclaimer that the pizza crust is GF but prepared in the same oven as regular pizza.

So, an example of the above would be this;

IoA, WWoHP, Hagrids House of Hopping Hotcakes
Dragonberry Hotcakes GS with half blood syrup GF
Delicious! Gotta try them!

You're probably not going to get many replies here. If you do a search, you'll only find a few gluten free posts over the past 20 years. Here is one that might help a bit. http://www.disboards.com/threads/qu...airy-wheat-free-dining.3426504/#post-53988303

I recommend you contact the park directly for more info. The best restaurant for GF choices is Confiscos. At one point they had an entire GF menu, but that didn't seem to be as popular as they had anticipated. Mythos and Confiscos have GF items marked on their menu. You can find these menus in the food sticky.

The chef will come out and deal with you directly at any of the sit down restaurants to make sure they meet your needs.

Thanks for the info. I know how hard it is to find GF info on the boards but I was hoping GF people would contribute so everyone could have an idea of what is really good and where to get it before they go. My daughter likes Udi's buns, too, but not everyone does. And she is never so happy as when we come across a bakery that has GF stuff on the menu!!

well, i for one would appreciate a gluten free thread!! i'll be going down next month, so maybe i can find out a few things to contribute to this thread. it's a pain to go down on vacation with your fingers crossed that you won't be stuck eating carrot sticks and baked chicken the whole time!!!

We're going in January and my son needs GF. We're staying at a place with a kitchen which looks like that might be good since eating out might be a PITA. Keeping track of this thread for hopefully more responses.

Fantastic! We are headed to park in January so any information would be great. Those of you who eat GF know how hard it can be. And even my teenager gets tired of burgers and fries every meal. Thanks so much!

Awesome! This is great information. Thanks so much!

HI. I am also gluten sensitive and I have been going through different menus on the Universal website. I noticed on most of the restaurant menus for city walk restaurants they had gluten free options listed on a separate menu or on the main menu. I will keep looking and posting updates also. Thanks for starting this.

Perfect. But please make sure to tell us how the food TASTED! LOL.....cause some GF stuff is like cardboard. Thanks for taking the time to get this post going.
