Is there an extra cost to substitute a gluten free bun at counter service places? Or gluten free pasta at sit down places?

Thanks

Do you know how much it is for a Gf bun?

We don't care for the gluten free buns, so when we get a hamburger we order it without a bun.

I know the gluten free pizza at pizza planet is about 2.00 more. I think the allergy free chicken is about 2.00 extra too.

DH and I don't think we paid extra when we took DDIL who needs a gluten free diet.

:goodvibesAnyone know the extra charges on things? Just trying to plan our food budget :)

Thanks guys for helping me out!

We were just there between Christmas and New Years. We weren't charged extra anywhere for GF items for our DD11. We ate at Liberty Tree Tavern (served HUGE bowl of sorbet), Cosmic Rays (hot dog w/ bun), Boma (GF waffles), SSR (GF chicken tenderloins)

We were not charged extra for GF waffles at numerous places (both QS and TS).

We paid OOP at 50s Prime Time, and DD was 9, but she really wanted the GF fried chicken. We figured we'd have to pay for an adult meal, but they charged a kids meal price, despite the fact that they (literally) gave her a whole chicken (yes, she got 2 beasts, two thighs, two wings, and 2 legs).

I guess it depends on where you go.

You'll never get charged extra when on the dining plan, though.

Also, if you have a child on the dining plan, and the child has an allergy, they can order something not on the kids menu in order to accomodate their allergy, for no additional charge.

We were there Feb 2010 and were never charged extra for gluten free. We paid OOP. This was at:

50's PT
Tony's
Big River
Akershus
Kona
Yachtsman
Cape May

And in most cases he was given a little extra!

I just went in December and paid OOP for all meals and did not pay extra for any gluten free options, even the sandwiches at the Grand Floridian tea. One place I just ordered the burger w/o the bun, but I did get a GF bun at Pecos Bill's. It was not extra. I think I was just as happy w/o one at all, though. None of my desserts were extra either.

From what I understand, the extra charges are for complete meals that are specialty items such as pizzas or chicken tenders. Buns are an add-on and I haven't heard of those having an extra charge. My understanding is also that this is only at CS locations and not at TS location.

We've always used a dining plan with the exception of the last 3 days of our last trip and didn't order these during that time so I have no personal experience with this. The 2 TS we paid for OOP that trip were all you can eat restaurants so the allergy food was covered by all you can eat. I guess I'll find out for sure in February but I'm budgetting on the high side just to be safe.
