Okay. I know this has been covered before, but the search isn't working for me this morning. My parents have decided (fairly last minute) to take my nephew to WDW next week, so he can go prior to turning 3. However, DDad has gluten intolerance. (Very mild case of celiac.) I know some places have the gluten free pizza, etc. Anyone with a list of good places for them to consider. (He can have SOME wheat, but his iron levels plummet when he does.)

You can get gluten free pizza in each park. From what I've read, I think it is the Amy's brand. The information Brenda emailed me lists where to get the pizza in each park. We are planning to eat at Liberty Tree Tavern in MK one night. I don't know if any ADR's would still be available for next week, but maybe since it is a slower season. I've heard that they do a great job for gluten free diners. We ate there last year with our DD who was 2, and she loved it. The character interaction was excellent.

Thanks, guys. I was really hoping for more of a "You can get GF buns, but they still taste weird." kind of thing, if anyone has that sort of info. I know there were previous threads along those lines, & was hoping a few GF people were around today?

A good deal of the counter service locations have gluten-free food options. Like someone suggested, e-mail Brenda and she'll send a list of what you can get and where.

My sister, who has celiac, recently ate at Cosmic Ray's in the Magic Kingdom and got a double cheeseburger with the gluten-free buns. She said they are a lot better than they used to be and they almost taste normal.

We split a hot dog at Liberty Tree, which is one of the best gluten-free options. That is in Epcot. They have dedicated fryers, so he can get french fries, without any cross-contamination. The gluten-free bun that came with the hot dog was not bad (and this is coming from someone who doesn't need to eat gluten-free). They also have gluten-free brownies and cookies.

In the past, we have eaten at Toy Story Pizza Planet and they have Amy's Pizza there that they can prepare for you. I believe they also have that at Pinocchio Village Haus.

At Animal Kingdom, your choices are pretty limited and it's basically only Flame Tree BBQ that you can eat at.

In terms of a couple resorts, Chef Jenny at the Mara at Animal Kingdom Lodge was great and told my sister she would prepare her whatever she wanted. She made her rotisserie chicken with rice (since cous-cous was not ok for her) and then another day made her ham and cheese sandwiches on gluten-free buns. At Saratoga Springs, Chef Ron is always amazing and is willing to go above and beyond to make things special. My sister likes to go to Arist Palette and get gluten-free buffalo chicken strips. He makes them special for her with rice flour. He is VERY nice. Be sure to ask for him, as not all the chefs there are willing to do anything more than just tell you what you can and cannot have, without accomodating your allergy.

I hope this was a little helpful. For the best info, I would really contact Brenda. If you have any more questions, feel free to send me a PM. :)

Gluten free at the counter service places can be a real pain in the back end. The lines move relatively fast and they functionally have an assembly line going. You may have to explain what you want a few times to the counter staff - they are so used to hitting "burger, fries, coke" that the exceptions can throw them. If you eat at less busy times, you may have better luck.

But its possible, just plan on it being a little more time consuming and have a lot of patience with it.

Table service is a little easier, but uneven. As Feigned said, some of the chefs seem to look at it as an interesting challenge - some see it as a burden. The waitstaff I think also factors in.

I was recently diagnosed with a gluten intolerance this past month. I am heading to WDW next month, and I wanted to get GF dining. I e-mailed Brenda and got information back within 1 minute! Impressive! Thanks for the head's up Ella's Mom and Feigned!

Peco Bills in MK also offers gf buns.

My wife is gluten free. She explains her Gluten Free Disney experince in my trip report. The link is in my Sig line. Look for day one and three.

I would suggest going to the disABILITIES Forum and look at Post #3 of the disABILITIES FAQs. There is a large section in that post dealing with special dietary needs, as well as many related links. You can get directly to the disABILITIES FAQs by following the link in my signature.

This is a very common topic of discussion in the disABILITIES Forum.

I have a list of CS places at all of the parks that have GF items. It was emailed to me last year before we went to WDW. The contact person I was given was Theresa Joiner at Disney Special Dining, although I'm sure anyone there can help get this list to you.
