I have reservations for lunch at Via Napoli one day, but after hearing that they will not offer a gluten free pizza, I'm not sure if it would be worth it! Does anyone have experience eating here and having a delicious gluten free experience?

I'm curious about this as well. My initial thought was that it wouldn't be a great GF option due to all that pizza and flour everywhere. And I have yet to find a GF pizza that tastes good, lol! But I'm holding out hope! Maybe someone will post their dining experience here!:goodvibes It looks like such an interesting restaurant and Disney has been so good with GF dining.:goodvibes

Based on what I know about Epcot restaurants, the world showcase venues aren't actually OWNED by Disney, the spaces are leased out to restaurants with the vibe of each country. That being said, last year when I went to some of those places, they were much less accommodating. No chef ever made an appearance, whereas they ALWAYS did in every other Disney restaurant. Since Via Napoli has the award of "La Vera Pizza Napoletana," this probably has something to do with the specific ingredients in the dough for it to be called a Napolitan pizza, and they don't want to compromise that.

Still, you would think they would want more business flowing their way, even if that means altering a small portion of their dough to accommodate more people!

I emailed special diets to inquire about Via Napoli and Tutto Italia. The chef actually called me. The same co or chef works in both. He said they CANNOT guarantee cross contamination in Via Napoli. When they make the pizza the flour does get everywhere. If you do still want to go, they can make you gluten free pasta. He suggested that I may be better off going to Tutto because they can do better with cross contamination and they can make gf pasta, and meats like steak or chicken. Hope this helps. Good luck whatever you decide, and if you go please let us know how your experience was. Thanks.

Thanks for the info davebon23. :)

Your welcome!:) You will find a lot of good info here. You can go to the DISabilities board, and Restaurants board and do a search for gluten free. This should help you find a lot more info here. Good luck. This will be my first trip going Gluten free, myself. Been diagnosed Celiac for 3 years now, but first time back to Disney since then. I have read a lot of great info here about how well Disney treats their visitors with food allergies. It actually makes me very excited to eat:rotfl2: Don't get very excited about eating much these days. Most times I eat out I get sick. This will be a great change. I can't wait!!

i ate there last September GF a few weeks after it opened. it was my only walk up meal, we had made an ADR for somewhere not on the dining plan, so we had one extra meal to use on our last day and decided to try there. they made no mention of the cross contamination issue. i had minestrone soup, which was all veggie and very fresh. i then had GF pasta with seafood and a spicy marinara sauce. they also brought out a plate with different kinds of GF bread. overall it was a great meal, very light and more authentic italian than at tonys or mama melrose. i did not have a reaction at all to any contamination and i am very sensitive to it, but that being said if there is a risk it is up to you to decide what's best.

while in epcot avoid chefs de france, i had problems with them both years and the GF food they did give me was terrible.
