Ugh! I just shipped a box to our resort with diapers/ snacks/ Tinkerbell gifts but I forgot to put in all the glowsticks and necklaces I bought. Obviously, I cannot carry these on with me due to the current ban on liquids but are they okay to pack in my checked luggage?

Not a problem in checked luggage. I do it every trip. Just pack them between clothes so they don't accidentally snap and light up. Have fun! :thumbsup2

I've done this too with no problem. The thin glow sticks are usually packed in a hard tube.

Make sure you have extra glow necklaces/sticks. I bought three at Wal-Mart and only two worked.

I flew down with 1,000 of 'em, and flew back with about 300 on the day after the whole "no liquids on airplane" thing. No questions asked.
Make sure to leave them in the cardboard tubes (if that's how you got them).

I am wondering where did you buy your glow sticks/necklaces? I saw a lot of dollar tree find. I don't need $49 worth of the necklances since I only have one DD2. I would like to buy 1 or 2 dozens of 6'' glow sticks, 22" necklances with assorted coloor and some glow cups for DD2 at meal time. Any suggestion? From oriental trading, if I want the variety, it seems like I will have to spend $100+. Is that really cost that much to buy those?

p.s There is no "dollar tree" by me.

You can also find them at Party City and even Target now that there halloween stuff is coming in. The Party City ones were on sale for 59 cents each last week. I also think they are available at walmart for just under a dollar. They had pinks, purples- perfect for little girls. Because of Halloween being around the corner, you can find them just abour anywhere.

Hope this helps. And, thanks to everyone for their assurances RE flying & checking glow sticks. I am going to go out and buy a few extra in case some of them don't work. Happy travels all!

Yeap I got some at Target today in the dollar section. They had sticks, necklaces, and bracelets for $1 each. I figured my nephews and niece will have lots of fun with them during Boo at the Zoo (we're not going to WDW until next year :) )

I got 200 8" bracelets (various colors) on eBay for about $20 (.99 for the auction and $19.99 shipping - shady shipping cost {trying to circumvent eBay fees}, but it's still a good deal for 200 glowsticks). The ones I got were X-Lite brand. I activated a few before leaving feedback for the seller to make sure they were 'good' - they glowed bright for over 12 hours (still had a faint glow last night - 3 nights later)! A mere 6 of them actually illuminated our bedroom the first night! You can use the links (which he includes) to put 2 or 3 together for a necklace. glowuniverse is the seller.

I figured I'd use what I wanted and then share the rest with kids I walked past. Also going to give them as party favors at DS's birthday party.

Just wondering if I purchased a large quanity on E-bay how long they would last if not activated? We are not going to WDW until Sept 2007 but we do have Disney on Ice tickets for next weekend, halloween, and bithday next Saturday as well..

Just curious...

They are supposed to be good for 2 years if fresh and the seller I bought mine from does say in his (or her) products are fresh. So, based on that (and a bit of good fortune) they should be fine for a 2007 trip. But it's your call... ;)

I will be bringing down 200 of them. We are taking a trip with DD (1 yr) and our nephew (7 yr old). His job will be to pass them out to other kids in the park while waiting for the parade while in eyesight of us.

Spread the magic !!!!
