Globespan refunded!

Hey guys,

Just wanted to share the good news. Got a full refund for today for the total value of my flights lost through the globespan collapse. I had paid in full through my travel agent on my debit card. It was a very nice refund cheque from travel agent via ATOl claim.

Phew. Now I can put that towards my OKW balance!

How long did it take you to get sorted? Was it a hassle. I'm SOOOOO nosy, sorry! But glad you got sorted. Now you have a trip to look forward to with a good downpayment ready to place on it! Great news!

We claimed on the first day they went under, well when the travel agent opened! She did it all - I didn't have to do anything. Not sure of the date but it was mid December. It has been very easy in that respect. They refunded me via a cheque in the post.

The worst bit was getting rebooked with flight prices shooting up all over the place! Thankfully we got in quickly - paid about £80 more each with Continental. But everyone is experiencing the flight price problems this year too!!!

It was also a nightmare trying to get all the money quickly to pay the new flights up front. Another £2500 after already saving £2300 was hard to find never mind that it was just before Christmas!!


But all is well that ends well!!

Glad you got it sorted.
I lost £200 to Aloha Airlines in Hawaii a couple of years ago when they went bust - I had paid the airline direct with a debit card. That taught me! Least it wasn't a huge amount of money. Now if not ATOL protected I always use a credit card.
