Hey, another dumb question...how do you get your iPhone photos to your PC? I can do it with Dropbox, but didn't know if there was an easier way.

when you dock your phone to the PC it should ask if you want to import pictures, mine does. However I've been worried about them duplicating so haven't done it and instead have used the phone as a remote drive and just drag them over while it's docked, so I can stick them where I want to go.

Yeah, it probably would be even easier if it were my phone, and I was able to mess around with it a little more, but Judy wanted an iPhone and I figured we'd pay for just one more expensive plan now (as opposed to both of us getting one) and I can catch up later.

Thanks Cynthia. A couple of folks have mentioned Dropbox, so we gave it a shot yesterday and got it to work. I successfully sent a pdf from Judy's PC to her phone and vice versa, sent a couple of pictures from her phone to her PC.

What's nice is you can actually have that same dropbox account on your pc if you want, or she can share it with you. I've linked work and personal on the drop box so I can access key things from anywhere for both.

Haven't tried that one yet, but it might be good -- the calendar function is something that Judy does like on the phone (as opposed to e-mail).

It's a wonderful wonderful app. You'd be able to see everything right in the app itself and/or in your calendar. I have both set up and really rely on it for every trip now. I don't really bring any printed materials anymore, or at least very few. I had it on the android as well. I just love that it will read adr emails and hotel/flight reservations and import the info itself! Doesn't work well with DVC sadly as those aren't really an email with the info, they link to a page but still, it saves a ton of time typing and reentering info. Plus you can put any kind of links in there and be able to get it from your phone quickly so I've got 3 vero restaurant links in there right now as a general resource list, the 2 grocery stores that have gotten best recommendations, etc.

It was great on the Alaska cruise as even though I didn't have internet connectivity while at sea, all the info was in the app and I could see it, and was in my calendar as well.

Yep, we're on new servers. Kinda like new shoes, you have to break 'em in gently....otherwise you'll get blisters.

You were probably refereeing a swim-meet, or you would've gotten that one. (Dangit, they took "rolleyes" off of the default smilies that appear when you're writing a post. I don't like waiting for the bigger list to appear when I hit the "more" button, so I guess I'll have to memorize colon-rolleyes-colon, 'cause I use that one a lot.)

Nothing says "Easter" quite like a ham, for some unknown reason. We usually get a Honey Baked Ham (which I affectionately call "Honey Baked Hamster"), but this year Judy tried going with a grocery store ham and a glaze recipe that a friend gave her. After the cost of all of the ingredients for the glaze, I think we'd have been better off with the Honey Baked Hamster, but it did taste good. And the leftovers were still as good -- Judy always makes bean and ham soup out of the leftover ham....Mmmmmmm.

Thanks, I'll take a look at that. Judy is less techno-oriented than I am (which is just enough to get by), so we knew it was going to be "interesting" when she upgraded her phone before I did....but she really wanted to get an iPhone.

I got on her web-account the other day and uploaded my trip plan pdf.

I really like it because it can upload to a bunch of different places - like SmugMug, that I use for my pictures, Photobucket and more - plus you can set it up to send to your PC. But, I think the "normal" way is just to drag/drop from your phone to your PC when it's plugged in. I don't plug my phone in very often, so PhotoSync has been awesome for me.

I have caught up on this thread, with a great deal of laughter, and now here I am to re-introduce myself, and say what a pleasure your threads are! Hope everything goes swimmingly (or should that be moistly? ) and look forwards to reading more on this great trip! (It really does sound fantastic. )

Swimmingly would be good, since we'll be spending a few days at the beach. It should be a GREAT trip and we're getting close, under 2 months to go.
