Glennbo’s City, Sand, and Savanna PTR - TR Link (pg 73)

Your ADRs look great. We had an anniversary dinner at Flying Fish and it was great. Excellent food and service. :thumbsup2 And a more upbeat, fun atmosphere than some of the other signatures. Which isn't to say they aren't good...just not as fun. Oh, whatever. :goodvibes

Never done Boma for dinner, just breakfast. It was delicious.

I have faith that you could have stretched out the ADR announcement even more!! Word search games?? Pictionary??

(See, now I'm just thinking of ideas on how to torment readers on a future PTR...:rotfl:)

Yeah, I think I could have stretched it out a little more. You gave me some great ideas though! Tormenting readers -- that's what it's all about.
evil_grin.gif

Your ADR plans sound great! I agree with Judy, little teeny sandwiches are no reason not to visit Boma!

Thank you. Yes, I'm sure she'll manage.

Pat got it! One of them was tricky, but you probably remember that picture outside of Biergarten from the last TR.

I think you can peek out of the Luau to see the EWP and fireworks. I saw a couple of peekers as I walked the path from GF to the POLY.

Do you think the fireworks will be going on during the luau? I was thinking they'd maybe be at 10, and we'd have gotten out of the luau in time to find a spot on the beach. We'll have to see.

You are driving right? Remember the bus situation at the Poly after the luau. All busses to everywhere and crowds galore. They will get you there but it might be a while.

I had kind of forgotten about that, but this night will definitely be a good one to drive there. Even though we'll have a van, I might still take Disney transportation to the parks on most days...but probably not this one.

You got some good eats Glenn.

Probably won't go hungry! ;)

Nope, 2. The tricky one is the one with the Biergarten sign. You can see the kids walking ahead of me (in their red PChef shirts) and Judy is kind of hidden by Lauren. Of course the obvious one she appears in is the one with my nephew getting fed collard greens.

How's the move going Kelly?

I'm glad to hear your good review! Good eats and fun also, that's awesome. I think we'll have a great night, eating and celebrating there.

Never done Boma for dinner, just breakfast. It was delicious.

And we've never had breakfast there. But we've had dinner there so many times I'm starting to lose count. I think this next time will be our sixth.

1 Judy and great ADRs. I love Flying Fish and I actually want to stop at the bar there this summer. I think there is one.

I also love Boma and have a late breakfast ADR in June.

When is Gaston's Tavern supposed to open?

Do you think the fireworks will be going on during the luau? I was thinking they'd maybe be at 10, and we'd have gotten out of the luau in time to find a spot on the beach. We'll have to see.

Summer time usually at 10. Plenty of time I think. Fall they are at 9 sometimes. EWP at 9pm every night unless Wishes is at 9 then it is usually right after. I think I have seen once where they ran it at the same time and that was odd.

I had kind of forgotten about that, but this night will definitely be a good one to drive there. Even though we'll have a van, I might still take Disney transportation to the parks on most days...but probably not this one.

My suggestion would be to park at the TTC and just walk from the Poly to the TTC to get home. Unless you are cutting it close to park closing. Or
maybe at Gf and walk/monorail over. Walking is closer than monorail for the Luau from the GF. Maybe Lauren can be DD? Unless you want to see the great CM in action?:confused3

I AALLMMOST missed it but since I saw Lauren and knew it was a Glennbo photo.... I looked harder. I found her hair.

Haven't been here in a while, but you ADRs look great! I think I look forward to the food at Disney more than anything else.
I was just giving my parents our ADR itinerary the other night. My mom was so excited- lots of new places for them to try.:yay:
FF is DH's new favorite- we ate there in August (try the special- red snapper)
We tried Boma last year too. I was a little afraid at first but we were pleasantly surprised.
We can't do 50s b/c my boys are really shy.
Biergarten is on our list we will get there someday.
DH and I did SoA on our anniversary trip we weren't impressed, but everybody should try it.
34 days for me today!!! I am getting so excited.

1 Judy and great ADRs.

No, there were 2. Pat found the second one...it was a tricky one in the picture where we were walking up to Biergarten.

I love Flying Fish and I actually want to stop at the bar there this summer. I think there is one.

I don't know if there is, this'll be our first time. I'm excited to try it!

I also love Boma and have a late breakfast ADR in June.

I've never had breakfast there, but lots of dinners. I'd like to try that juice they have at breakfast though...everybody raves about it! I wonder if you can get it in the Mara?

When is Gaston's Tavern supposed to open?

Oh no, you might be onto something there. I haven't been keeping up with the Fantasyland expansion, but I looked at some sites this morning and it sounds like the Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast areas won't open until "late summer or fall". So, rats. It probably won't be open when we're there in late June.

You were good about supplying some hints about where the pictures came from. :thumbsup2

Yeah, probably too good. ;)

You mean the totally worthless Bonus Points!? Giving them a different font and color and italicizing them really makes them look special, doesn't it? :rotfl2:

I probably need to re-read your chapter on that, with the great CM in action. Remind me again: I wouldn't want to park at the Poly because...several things letting out at the same time?

I AALLMMOST missed it but since I saw Lauren and knew it was a Glennbo photo.... I looked harder. I found her hair.

I had actually downloaded a picture from the internet of a closer shot of the Biergarten sign and was going to use that, but then I was looking through my Photobucket pictures from the 2010 trip (looking for some inside shots) and saw that one with a "hidden Judy" in it! How could I not go with that?!

I didn't get too much of a reaction from my mom when I went over them with her during Christmastime, just before making the ADRs. I think she's looking forward to the Tea though. :thumbsup2

FF is DH's new favorite- we ate there in August (try the special- red snapper)

Great! Okay, red snapper, got it. (Although I'll still have to look over the menu and hear the specials before I decide. But your recommendation is noted.) :)

We tried Boma last year too. I was a little afraid at first but we were pleasantly surprised.

We love that place. We like the spice, we like the variety, and the fact that it's a buffet, allowing multiple occasions to sample something else. It should be advertised as "More than 'All you can eat'".

We can't do 50s b/c my boys are really shy.

Some cast members would probably pick up on that and tone it down, but you never know...one might take it as a challenge and that might not be good.

Biergarten is on our list we will get there someday.

I'm not sure when I'll get to the others on my list, if my kids won't let me switch it up a bit! :rotfl:

DH and I did SoA on our anniversary trip we weren't impressed, but everybody should try it.

I am secretly afraid that I'll be of the same opinion. :guilty: But the tribe has spoken.

34 days for me today!!! I am getting so excited.

Still over 3 months for me, but in my ticker, Mickey is part-way between Japan and Morocco as he makes his way across the World Showcase. :thumbsup2

I'm not sure when I'll get to the others on my list, if my kids won't let me switch it up a bit! :rotfl:

We have this problem as well- it's hard to do new places when you have favorites and can't fit them all in. Too many restaurants- NOT enough time:laughing:

Don't stress it wasn't all that bad. The fire dancer was cool. Nice eye candy too for the ladies :rotfl:

I was hoping you would ask that:rotfl:
All but 1 of my ADRs are favorites, only 1 new. We did this on purpose for my parents.
Rose & Crown (to watch Illuminations from patio- this is surprise for my mom she  Illuminations)
Garden Grill- dinner
Via Napoli- lunch (DH and I) (NEW)
Le Chefs- lunch (my parents taking kids)
Cali Grill (late ADR to watch Wishes) this is our Uni/IOA day
Sci-Fi dinner (boys' fave)
Flying Fish -dinner (spending night on BW- so FUN)

We are splitting up for lunch- another reason not enough days in the vacation! I'm really sad to be missing Chefs (at least I was there in August). It's my mom's favorite and the boys enjoy Remy and they eat well there. DS14 loves salmon. DH has wanted to try Via Napoli since it opened. It'll be nice to have a quiet lunch w/out the kids. :) We'll meet up after.
What do you think? I almost forgot we're doing Wishes Dessert Party too!!! Another surprise for my parents. We have never done it before either. Can you tell I love surprises???

I was looking at your pics again and I forgot to ask you where you heard about Gaston's Tavern possibly opening? I would love to read about it.
And the theming in The Three Broomstick's is so awesome. If you've read the books or saw the movies it really feels real. We ate there twice.

Poly might be fine, I have no idea how many actually park there. The way out gets congested with busses if you are also leaving the Poly parking lot. GF is not much better but the exit is not in the direct line of busses leaving MK. Just my thoughts. the TTC is on the other side so again easier exit.

ADR's look great! We really love the 50's PT too and I think it's a good call in regards to seating vs. the Sci-Fi.

I've heard amazing things about Flying Fish!

We're doing the Biergarten for the first time next trip, supposedly they have great gluten free food which is always helpful!

I think the GF tearoom looks heavenly! I'm sure your girls will love it, dainty sandwiches and all.:goodvibes

Oh, how I want to got the WWoHP. We all do! The three broomsticks looks awesome, make sure to order butterbeers too.:thumbsup2

We've never done the Spirit of Aloha, the one time we booked it, it rained buckets and they cancelled it. I'm looking forward to hearing how you all like it. Yes, I realize that's over three months away.

Ah Boma. My DH is in love with the restaurant. He enjoys trying new things and this was at the top of his list for re-do restaurants. Actually last trip, he asked me why weren't eating there. I calmly reminded him that I'd asked for his input over and over and over again leading up to our trip and his non-commital answer was "wherever you want to eat." Needless to say, Boma is something we do every time now, though personally I found the breakfast to be slightly better.

So late to the party but finally climbing aboard. Going back to read the rest but started with the ADRs. Looks like you've selected some yummy choices! ::yes:: I hope there is some extra pixie dust for your folks' 60th at Flying Fish too! :wizard:

Fun ADR's, the girls will love the tea, we had a blast.

I can tell you from personal experience that we managed to do lunch at WPE, the tea and then dinner at Tusker all in the same day. It is a heavy snack and I suppose if you eat like birds then you might not want dinner but if you do a later ADR at Boma it should be just fine!
