I know that Glee was really hyped and lots of people were really excited about it. I know I was looking forward to it.

I just saw the first episode on my DVR today and am watching the 2nd one right now. I am really not impressed.

The whole awful wife, the money issue/spending makes my blood pressure rise, the chasing after a married guy, the totally over the top cheerleading coach, the unrealistic kids, the bad lip syncing. It is really just silly and ridiculous.

And dd is going to be upset because she really wants to watch this but the content doesn't fit with what we allow (no flames it is just our personal values) so she isn't going to find it on the DVR in the morning.

I guess I am just not their demographic (I have said before I am old and cranky!). Just wondering if anyone else is finding it stupid.

I"m with you on this. i loved the season opener but we just watched the next show and I'm pretty appalled. The kids did a very suggestive dance to "Push it" and there was talk about certain intimate things that aren't DIS friendly topics. We will probably not continue watching.

I was also very disappointed. The pilot episode was SO good, and this one was very flat a bit off color. I too hated the wife chasing bits, and the faked pregnancy. All in all, just a bad episode. I hope it gets better as the season goes on.

I thought it was ok. Who doesn't love kids doing Kanye? Not the stronegst episode, but I'm not giving up yet.

Count me in. I tried to like it. I tried to laugh. I tried to enjoy it. Couldn't do it. Honestly, I was glad when it was over.

I agree.

my DD really wants to watch it (I taped it), but I agree the content is realy inappropriate.

What does everyone think the "target audience" is? I'm not sure. Seems like the story lines are for high school and up.

I haven't watched the whole episode yet, but I did watch the "Push It" scene on youtube and I was laughing hysterically. I knew about the fake pregnancy from a preview.

I would say the target audience is high school and up. I loved it! Jane Lynch is hilarious and that "Push It" scene had me laughing so hard.

I don't care for the wife storyline...wish they would just focus on the school and kids, but this show is going on my Season Pass list.

I was really looking forward to tonight's episode, but I have to say, I thought it was just awful! Bad writing and worse acting. Totally predictable. Every conceivable stereotype all thrown together in one very shaky storyline.
My son is a music major and loves show choirs so even he was interested at first. He could not make it past the first 15 minutes.
BIG disappointment!

I feel like I watched a different show than everyone else. I loved it as much as the pilot!

Only watched the first 20 minutes last night. My nyquil induced coma kicked in. It was just OK. I liked the 1st episode better. So far I'm treating it like Melrose Place- A distraction that I can give up in a few weeks when my DVR is gets too full.

Jane Lynch is the best part of the show, IMO. I hope she will still be on Two and a half Men though.

Sorry to have to agree....I am finding it to be a huge letdown. My dd is heavily into glee/show choirs, and I was really looking forward to watching this show with her. But...I'm finding the story lines very soap opera-ish. The whole wife story is simply annoying and the cheerleader story line is way over the top. Maybe if they take that one down a notch and do away with the whole wife thing the show might improve.
It's not so much about the 'content' but about the lack of in depth characters or good writing. Ah well.

I'm not ready to give up yet. I'm a huge Nip/Tuck fan and love Ryan Murphy :worship: I keep hoping there will be 'jaw' dropping scenes in this series also.

ONly watched the first one so far and I have to agree. I thought that DD-13 would like it, but I don't want to show it to her now :guilty:

I guess I thought it would be a little like HSM - not like Fame the movie, a bad version:confused3

I enjoyed last night's episode. There were parts that weren't great, but I still laughed a lot (especially when Jane Lynch's character asked for the kids to be hobbled, lol). I don't have anyone to censor for, so the storylines are o.k. for me.

Loved it loved it loved it. It's not a Disney show, and not meant to be. There are plenty of those---This is meant to be something different, and I'm thrilled with this show. I hope others are too, and that Glee makes it and is around for a long time.

I thought it was really funny again. Jane Lynch is worth watching for me. And while it isn't appropriate for kids(this is not high school musical) I thought it was still funny and yes stereotypical but that's what I find funny.

When the guidance teacher was having the sobbing in her car flashback?:rotfl2:

From the well-hyped previews, I was really looking forward to the show and thought I would love it.

Wrong.

I didn't even make it completely through the first episode. :(

I'm with you guys. I thought it was hysterical. Very funny. :thumbsup2
I wouldn't let my 8 year old watch it but it isn't for 8 year olds. It is in the same vein as BH90210 or the old Melrose. It IS a drama and night time soap opera. It is supposed to be and was very much presented that way.

It is supposed to be campy and ridiculous and fun. It is no Hannah Montana or HSM. It isn't meant to be. I don't get why people were expecting that? This is a 9pm show on Fox. :confused3

I'm sure the target ad demo is women 18-24 or 18-34.

I liked it.
