Giving up (a std view 1 bdrm) is hard to do...

Time to live up to my decision to stop being a one bedroom snob and give up my BWV standard view one bedroom for 2/20/05 - 2/25/05 lovingly booked at the eleventh month window in order to book a studio (actually 2 studios). Sniff, sniff,...

The worst part is that I would be booking 2 preferred studios instead. I guess I could waitlist for the standard view. But oh so painful...

Anyone else feel this way when their plans change? Anyone else hate having to give up a standard view reservation?

Yup, I feel your pain. I had a BWV standard view studio booked for the week between Christmas and New Year's, 2004. Called day by day at 11 mo. window to get it. Then plans changed, and I had to cancel. Now I won't be going to WDW at all this Christmas. :(

But I really shouldn't complain. I have 2 lovely trips to look forward to in Feb. and Mar. next year. Looks like we'll just miss crossing paths. My dates in Feb. are the 11th to the 20th.

Good luck getting the studios you want. Hope it all works out perfectly! :D

Oh yes!

This coming December trip will be the first time we'e ever been booked for a Boardwalk view. We've had nothing but standard views so far. Even though I'm excited to see what that famous BW view will be like, I still think I should have booked my usual standard view.

We've always enjoyed the standard views so I'm having a hard time imagining why the BW views are "worth it". Doesn't help that we are still a little in "point debt" Would have been totally out of debt if I'd booked standard view.

Maybe I'm on the way to becoming a "Boardwalk view" snob, LOL!
(Hope not - doubt DH will agree to an add on to just to support an increase in vacation lifestyle)!

Best wishes -

:teeth:

We haven't stayed at the BWV yet, and we have 5 standard view rooms, different types booked for this December for a grand gathering. I look forward to the time that I'm able to book a boardwalk view, I also look forward to the time that I can book us a 1 bedroom as the "norm."

When I booked these rooms day by day at 11 months, I was so worried, because if we had to book all preferred view, we wouldn't have had enough points, even with borrowing! Whew, I was so happy when that ressie was completed!

This is one of the reasons we haven't stayed at another DVC onsite resort besides BWV...

Just can't bring ourselves to spend the extra points for the "non-standard" view for points costs at VWL or BCV.

Yup! Feeling your pain! We have a standard view studio booked for this Oct for a mere 9 points/night, but long story short will probably be changing it to a 1 BR (if at all possible because it is really booked up). If we even get a 1 BR, we will definitely end up with preferred at 24 points a night. Quite a jump!

What stinks is that everytime we are at BWV I always think - no way would I book a preferred view!!! What a rip-off!!! Standard views are just as nice. Now I could see paying more points for a Boardwalk view though.

Sigh...
