I wish these pictures would show up on my school computer. I would love to show them to my students.
They would flip out! We don't see anything anywhere near that around here.

Snow days and baking sweet goodies just go hand in hand. :thumbsup2
Stay safe and warm!

With only 23 (almost 22) days to go, I thought I'd share our countdowns. First mine:

I have to stop by here to say hello since I have been reading your spectrum mom TR. Can I just say that that is a ridiculous amount of snow. Ridiculous!

Back with replies later... I have a load of laundry in the dryer calling my name but wanted to pop in to say hello with only 19 days to go!!

Woo Hoo teens!! :banana::banana:

Tomorrow is the annual Penguin Plunge for Special Olympics NH & Tim will once again be jumping into the ocean. The air temp is supposed to be in the upper 30s (heat wave!) and the water will be around 35 degrees. :scared1: I'll be watching from the beach. ;) It will be high tide which is good for Tim (less distance to run to & from the water) but bad for spectators because there is less room to watch. We also have a couple teachers from our school plunging this year. :thumbsup2

I also need to fill you in on a potential new trip I'm working on... I mentioned it over on the Spectrum Mom's report but want to talk through some of the details here. It's definitely still a maybe, but it would be a dream trip for me. :goodvibes I'll share more soon.

Good luck to Tim today! Every year I admire his fortitude in doing that! There is no way I would even dip a toe into water that cold.

A new trip in the works, you say? Can't wait to hear the details! :goodvibes

Good luck to Tim today! 35 degrees for the water temp? :scared1:

Look forward to hearing about this dream trip! :goodvibes

New TRIP? Hmmmm.... Well, can't wait to hear about the details!!!
:thumbsup2

Still can't believe how much snow you have!!!

Poor Zach is practically buried out there!

If your countdown is on your iPhone, I will have to add it the ever-increasing list of reasons I need one of my own.

I :lovestruc my iPhone! There are lots of great Disney apps. :thumbsup2

I think I'm doing a pretty good job on my to-do list. I'll post an update early this week.

More snow predicted for Tuesday... I'm hoping we don't have a delay or snow day. We have a PTO event scheduled that morning. :headache:

:goodvibes Cute bag! The countdown chain is definitely getting shorter!!!

Thank you!! I haven't heard back from the store where I ordered it... I'll have to follow up soon. Yes - Alex's countdown is shrinking! :cool1:

It's fun to show off our snow when we have a snowy winter. At least someone can enjoy it.

18 Days to go!! Almost 17!!

I have to stop by here to say hello since I have been reading your spectrum mom TR. Can I just say that that is a ridiculous amount of snow. Ridiculous!

:welcome: Thanks for stopping by! Yes - ridiculous is good way to describe our snow! Today it got up to about 40 degrees so we had a little melting. It hasn't been above 32 in weeks.

Good luck to Tim today!

Today's Penguin Plunge was a success! Parking was a bit crazy due to all the snow but we did eventually find a spot. :thumbsup2 It was also a bit chaotic since there was construction at the beach in the area where the plungers usually enter the water. They usually have heated tents on the beach so the plungers can run out of the water & right back to the tents to change. The whole event is based out of the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom. This year the tents were still near the ballroom but the plunge took place way down the beach. The poor plungers had to walk all the way back down to the ballroom to get changed after plunging 200-300 yards away. Fortunately it was warm - all the way up to 40 degrees! :rolleyes1 In all the craziness some of the plungers ended up going in with the wrong group (they have three "waves" of plungers) so I couldn't find anyone from our team. I did spot two teachers from our elementary school who took the plunge this year and that was fun.

It was a fun day & Tim has been curled up on the couch with a blanket drinking coffee with Bailey's Irish Cream all afternoon. I went outside and scraped some ice off the driveway since we had some freezing rain last night. I also washed some vacation clothes. :thumbsup2 Isn't it funny that vacation laundry is fun. :laundy:

Thanks for all of your "warm" wishes for a successful plunge! :goodvibes

I promise to reveal more about our potential next trip soon. ;)

You Go, Tim!! He deserves an afternoon of blankets and hot coffee! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear about this "mystery" trip...do tell! popcorn::

Yes I agree...good job Tim...no pix for us this yr? and did you wear the scarf?

so what's this mystery trip...what did I miss :confused3

Yes - I wore the scarf and got some compliments! I think there's a picture on facebook that someone else took but I'll try to copy it over here.

Did you not read my post about the mystery trip on the Spectrum Moms report? :rolleyes1

Here's the deal with the "mystery trip" as it's been dubbed...

It's still a big maybe, but we're throwing around the idea of going to Disney with the kids for our anniversary! :rotfl: I know that sounds crazy but we've decided we can't get away without the kids this year & as most of you know, I've been dying to get to Disney during the holidays.

Our 15th anniversary is November 9th, which happens to be a half-week of school for the kids due to Veteran's Day, a teacher in-service day & a half day Wednesday. It also happens to be the only week of the year that you can visit Food & Wine, MVMCP & the Osborne Lights. Could the stars align any better than that? :cool1:

DH has said to go for it, but I want to make sure he's really cool with it. He would totally be doing it for me but I want it to be about him too. We'd try to get his brother, Jeff & girlfriend, Karen to come over for a day or two so we could get out for dinner at Tim's favorite, Shula's sometime that week too.

I don't know if we'd use our timeshare or splurge for a deluxe villa (I have a 40% off AP pin good until the end of this month). I'd love to go all out & stay at either the Beach Club or BLT but I'd be really afraid that the kids would expect that every year so it may not be worth the money in the long run. :confused3

There you have it! I'll keep you posted... If we book a villa we need to do so by the end of the month - I may put down a deposit on one just in case... any suggestions on BLT or BCV?? Otherwise we don't need to book airfare until May (I'm guessing Southwest will release November around May).

So please send pixie dust that Tim can really get on board with this idea... I'm hoping some February/March Disney magic will have him begging to go back. :rolleyes1

This year's Penguin Plunge had a pirate theme. Here is the one picture I have of us from the day. Thanks to my friend Viki who posted it on facebook:

See Julie - I wore the scarf!

Tim is drinking his liquid courage before the plunge.

Your mystery trip sounds fun! I think you should just book and go for it. :thumbsup2 Cute picture of you and Tim.

I so hope a November trip works out for you. Sounds like a perfect week to go. And I think it's a great way to celebrate an anniversary..kids or no kids! :goodvibes

I'm secretly hoping to plan a November trip as well....sshhhhhh. :ssst: It is SO tentative and would include only a DTD trip, not a park trip. Jeff wants to take the boys on the 4 night Bahamas cruise we went on last May. We are looking at MAYBE doing it during Thanksgiving. It will really depend on no major unexpected expenses and a lot of willpower and saving on our part. Our last trips have depended on a big bonus and tax refund in March and that won't be available this time. I am not telling the kids it's even a possibility and am trying not to get excited. See how that's working out??

Anyway...my fingers are crossed for YOUR mystery trip! :woohoo:
